Mmmmm, Metal for breakfast. It's been a long time since I've indulged in that. Back in college I was much more Industrial than Metal. More Tool than Children of Bodom.
Now I listen to stuff like The Dubliners and other Celtic folk music.
Ah, the forum ate my post.

Simon and Garfunkel are great, but they don't do my favorite version of Scarborough Fair.

Matt Cøtteryl |

That's a great version, a tiny bit slow for me. I remember hearing another version on youtube possibly by Inkubus Sukkubus that I preferred, but the playing in that was fab.
The funniest thing to me is the pronounciation 'Scar-bo-roe', as opposed to Scar-bra. One of my friends says the same for Knaresborough & Edinborough, which cracks me up. :)

Alika |

Our employer said this woman was discrete. Alika is lonely and prefers the company of females. If Gueneph is well connected, she may have a line on who is and who is not safe to bed, at the very least, if she's not interested herself. The one thing our employer has said is that he wants nothing falling back on him or his family, and Alika will respect those wishes.
Additionally, young girls are much more likely to run their mouths and ask a bunch of questions that Alika doesn't want to answer, and being good, she prefers not to lie to her partners.

Alika |

To answer your question from the gameplay thread, Alika would be to welcome him back, since she's supposed to be the guide.
Also, Magnur, sense motive isn't a passive skill. If you sit around unhappy with everyone, Alika's just going to assume yer having an episode of butt hurt and want to be left alone. Her whole "let's be honest with each other" conversation was an invitation to clear animosities. You might want to take advantage of it.

Mangur Harmpreet |

Yeah I know...and as I said it has nothing to do with party cohesion, but rather that Mangur just want his own space. He signed up for this job, and he wil not back out, but also wishes to ensure he gets what he thinks he deserves...like his own place...yeah I know...he is kinda spoiled!!! lol

GM CanyonR |

I think any domination of conversations is due more to people's posting schedules than you two being too active. I would rather you post and that may encourage others then have you hold back and maybe no one posts. For me, I'm always worried about moving the game forward too fast and leaving people behind. Yet I'm sure that people will cry out if they see any real injustices going on from either of us.

Matt Cøtteryl |

To be honest, I know sometimes it does feel like I am posting too often. But most games can be like this (from my lurking), with a couple of players posting alot. Until their schedules change, or the main poster rotates, or the pace slows down.
(the only game I have really seen that keeps up the posting rate is Heathy's Saltmarsh game, or the terribad KM game that Alika was in). I always find it's quite nice just to post to get a feel for the PC, even if the post or character doesn't advance.

Alika |

Yeah, he's... special. you literally had to post that much in that game or your opinion would be completely overruled in favor of whatever the GMPC suggested.
That game is on RAILS! Every time a decision must be made, it's the GMPC handing you two options. Pick one. No PC input is needed further than that.
If I did that in my game, I would expect all of you to walk, and wouldn't feel bad about it. You bring the bandits back to Oleg's and give a general rubric, and my NPCs help you achieve what you decide that you want from them.

Gawain Macellan |

Good to hear that you're back home safe Alika.
Sorry about not posting on here GM, I ahev been swamped with schoolwork lately, studying for exams, writing papers and loads of college algebra crap...I'll post as Gawain soon, but pretty much all he has been doing is following the group around for now. Again sorry, I'll have a post up soon. Damn migraines...

Hey guys I know we have alot of games already but knowing you guys are really good at making characters espeically since you waded through my first game thought id submit this game to see if you guys would like to join in on the submissions
we need more players hope you guys would like to jump in :)

Raventhorn |

Guys im feeling really bad about this seems i read your posts and I truly have nothing to add im hoping this remedies itself but the character is really out of place almost wonder if I shouldve put in another sorceror or something but since everyone else was going spells I thought i should put in some martial to balance it out just seems like I am not contributing :(

Matt Cøtteryl |

Don't worry about it Tristen seems like a really interesting character, just a little shy due to the hand life has dealt him. I am sure we can bring him out of his shell. Thanks for posting here though.
I am going out for a Cthulhu game now, will catch up with you all later and put some more posts up in my York DF game.

Alika |

Truth, there isn't much to say while we're shopping. It's pretty much go there, pick up the stuff and leave. Unless you want to haggle with the shopkeep about the price of things...
As a GM who has freeformed before, I feel pretty crap when I ask a single question. I know it is frustrating when NPCs you don't mean to have a huge focus end up being one. I had a level 1 expert courtesan turn into a paladin. That was... different. I really didn't mean for her to become a regular, just a catalyst, but... such is the way of things, I suppose.
Enjoy yer game, DSX.

GM CanyonR |

Raventhorn: I think your character fits well or I wouldn't have approved him. I agree you set yourself up a challenge with the background but that's a good thing(tm). I think character development is an important part of a great game, and you have a bunch of potential ways to develop him. He has plenty of opportunity in his background for lots of experience in business deals, interacting with lots of different social classes, and transporting and selling non-standard goods. If you're worried about getting more into the game now then it's easy enough to have him start to 'open up' to the group with these skills.
I don't expect any of these characters will be the same in 3 months as they were when they landed. (If they are, I'm doing something wrong.) You just need to decide what direction you want him to grow in and start looking for opportunities to follow that.

Raventhorn |

Thanks guys Ill try to open him up once things seem to favor his own expertise but on a side note to Alika
Were you going to submit your characters for Borum's game we really need more people I dont want to be stuck with this guy who resembles Azure Zero and borum's letting the people already in vote on who gets in but hes only other character submission....uggg lol

GM CanyonR |

One point to clarify, when I put a Spoiler calling for a skill roll, I do expect everyone to submit their rolls if they can during that scene. It's important to keep clear what your character knows and doesn't. You never know when some things will come in handy. If you miss several just post the rolls as a block in the order they were called for. And if you ever roll a skill and feel like you don't get a resolution from me, let me know and I'll follow up. I don't want anyone to miss something while waiting on a reply.

I dunno man, freaking half dragons?
TBH, he seems like more than a bit of an ass, and every role I wanted to play has been covered. I'm running enough bards and clerics to not want to play another. Unless it's something thoroughly evil and unlike what I usually play.

Raventhorn |

Aw was looking forward to seeing that prestige class never seen one before lol and if the roles are covered can always have more than one I dunno kinda like restrictive games and the half dragon thing I just laugh about cause my brother has always been griping about how he wants to play 4e cause of the dragonborn and pathfinder doesnt have them so more of inside joke with me lol
neways if you change your mind its still open goes for everyone as we are trying to get 5 people in :( only have 3 neways back to TALDOR!

Hu5tru |

with that stat allotment, I could easily make a combat cleric, or battle oracle that wouldn't suck at doing both, but again, I'm kinda burnt out on standard divine casters.
Standard rogues are just... sh*t to be honest, they really are just absolute crap. The one thing they can do better than a bard is find traps. Woopdey!
I'll think about it. Hubby is going to work today, and most people stop posting during my day hours and I've little to do at home.

Matt Cøtteryl |

Raventhorn, I would have loved to make a PC. Just with the 3 PC's requirement & them being competantly made. I didn't really have time, esp. since I have had to make another for yet another new system IRL.
'Cause competantly made characters are time-consuming especially since I like picking a couple of 'interesting' skills. See Matt here, no alchemy, concentration, ubiquitous Knowledge skills and I am going the meta-magic feats rather than craft/useful ones. And his spell selection has a brilliant mix of utility but not the optimisers Mage Armour & Sleep.

Alika |

Matt & crew: As you tour the local taverns you see everything from the high class finery of the Stag and Pony to the slightly rough and seedy Strongman Aderro's. You find nothing mysterious or even noteworthy about any of the establishments. You return to the Standing Ogre several hours later, just as the dinner crowd is starting to gather.
And this is why I love playing bards.
Misdirection. :D
