About Tristen Almeran

Tristen Backstory:

Tristen has been fleeing the inquisitors of Mendev since he was a child. His family still clung to the beliefs of old ways even with the threat of inquisition. One night the inquisitors finally found their family and exposed their beliefs. Believing that the old faith communed with demons they took Tristen's family and put them to death by burning them at the stake. Tristen could still hear their screams and see their bodies being lashed to the pole. He had only been thirteen at the time and had been out in the woods as was normal for kids of his age, he had only come back to pain and despair. Knowing he could do nothing for his family he fled with hardly any sense of direction or purpose. Over time Tristen fled as far as Ustalav, one day as Tristen was stretched out along small stream bank trying to catch some supper he heard a loud raucous sound and then a crash not far from him. Frightened Tristen approached the site and to his amazement saw a large bird laying amongst some crushed limbs of several bushes. The bird was immense never had he seen a bird this size up close before. The bird was squawking loudly in what seemed like pain then seemed to feel something spying upon it and swivels it head and transfixed Tristen with a blazing gold eye.

Feeling pity for the thing Tristen made soft sounds and managed over the course of time, and a few bribes of fish, managed to inspect the proud bird and saw a hunter's arrow had pierced its wing and made it fall. Tristen raised it back to full health and the bird even manged to regain some of its flight back, however once healthy it deemed to remain with the human boy.

So entered the second phase of Tristen's life, traveling with his friend, Adler which in his language translated to Proud Eagle, he knew the bird was no eagle it had a very different look as well as eating habits. But the bird didn't seem to mind and even came to his call of it's name.

Later on as Tristen traveled throughout the immense woods of Ustalov and Razmiran, Tristen stumbled upon a band of trappers who had settled there to hunt for pelts. The trappers took Tristen in out of pity and showed no small amount of surprise when Adler returned that day and perched near the young man.

One hunter, Tomas, recognized the bond between the the two and asked whether Tristen had ever considered training the bird. Tristen replied no, he just let Adler do what Adler wanted, and come hell or high water, Adler would do just that. Tomas just shook his head at that and took Tristen under his tutelage having been a Lord's Falconer out in the River kingdoms a good while back.

Many years passed with Tristen living with the trappers and with Tomas, who with patience taught how to refine the innate bond Tristen had with Adler, teaching him how to have Adler bring down large game as well as how to work in concert with him.

Then one day the old hunter Tomas, decided to leave the business and asked Tristen to come with him. Having no other reason to stay with the group Trsiten agreed and with gruff fatherly farewells the duo left the region and made their way south. The pair of humans, and Adler, travlled as far south as Andor. Where they settled down withen the city giving Tristen a taste of city life.

Several months passed and Tristen could feel an itch to be out among the trees and on the trail again but Tomas was in declining health and Tristen had no wish to leave him. However one day a letter arrived for Tomas who read it and then looked at the young man seriously before walking off to think as Tomas was prone to do.

After a few weeks he gave Tristen the letter it came from someone he said was an old adventuring companion of his. He said there was no reason for Tristen to stay and 'babysit an old man'. He insisted Tristen would be doing him a favor by following the summons of the letter.

So began the next chapter of Tristen life.

Favored Class Bonus- 1st Level Skill point

Class Features:

Feathered Companion (Ex): At 1st level, a falconer earns the trust and companionship of a bird of prey. The bird can be of
any type of large hunting or scavenging bird (even a vulture).
This ability functions like the druid animal companion ability (which is part of the nature bond class feature), but the falconer must take the bird animal companion, and that companion has only half the normal hit points. The falconer cannot teach the bird of prey the work trick, but can teach it either the roam or distract trick for free. Whichever trick the falconer does not pick then can be picked as a trick later.
Roam (DC 15): The falconer can let his animal companion loose to roam and forage. He must let it roam for no more than a week. When the falconer lets it roam, it agrees to return to the place he let it loose within the time period he designates.
Distract (DC 20; bird only): The animal companion flutters wildly around any enemy it would normally attack with the attack trick. It makes an attack roll against that enemy. On a hit, the enemy is shaken.
This ability replaces wild empathy.

All of the following are class features of the ranger.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A ranger is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).

Favored Enemy (Ex): At 1st level, a ranger selects a creature type from the ranger favored enemies table. He gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his selected type. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon
attack and damage rolls against them. A ranger may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures.
At 5th level and every five levels thereafter (10th, 15th, and 20th level), the ranger may select an additional favored enemy. In addition, at each such interval, the bonus against any one favored enemy (including the one just selected, if so desired) increases by +2.
If the ranger chooses humanoids or outsiders as a favored enemy, he must also choose an associated subtype, as indicated on the table below. (Note that there are other types of humanoid to choose from in the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary—those called out specifically on the table below are merely the most common.) If a specific creature falls into more than one category of favored enemy, the ranger’s bonuses do not stack; he simply uses whichever bonus is higher.

Chosen Favored Enemey: Humanoid-Human

Track (Ex): A ranger adds half his level (minimum 1) to
Survival skill checks made to follow or identify tracks.
