I generally ignore the player and character tabs. I'm not even really sure why they're there.

I use them if I need to GMPC someone. It's quicker than scrolling through the Gameplay thread looking for a specific character - especially if s/he hasn't posted for a while.

Since my castery bar is only going to get bigger I have the amount of spells memorized and left by level, (plus my evoker ability!) Under the status tracker button which i will post in combat (simular to a certain horse save wall) I will have more detailed spell information if thats okay.

Being new to pbp, I have a question related to the dice rolling: its an automatic/mechanic option that I miss, or just a home made RL dice roll, then posted?

@Plays: what you have is very similar to what I do with my PC Wizards, so you're fine. :-)

@Puseater: If you click the "How to format your text" box directly below where you enter your posts, you'll see how to use the online dice roller. :-)

There's an awesome newbie guide to PbP gaming somewhere on the site that I can track down for you if you're interested. :-)

There's also this one by Painlord, that expands on the previous guide by Doomed Hero. These two are what pushed me to try PbP :)
That, and the fact that no one in my area wanted to play Pathfinder. D:

PS: Play, that was an awesomely appropriate bad roll :P

Those are exactly what I was looking for. :-)

i'm trying the pbp because all my former players grew too old to continue playing (as they say) and after geting the CRB in physical, I wanted to play it somehow.

LOL

Translation: "My hobby bugs my GF" :D

Just for my own edification, exactly how old is "too old" to be playing?

Scout 4 HP: 33/33 | AC: 18; T: 15; FF: 14; CMD: 16 Arrows:20 | Fort: +4; Ref: +8; Will: +3 | Init: +4; Perc: +9, Stealth +21

IMO never going to be old enough to be too old. For them, as you finely guessed... when a mate is obtained. I played and GM being married and with 1 child.

Considering I met my wife at a PFS game, I'll never be too old to play. :-)

Scout 4 HP: 33/33 | AC: 18; T: 15; FF: 14; CMD: 16 Arrows:20 | Fort: +4; Ref: +8; Will: +3 | Init: +4; Perc: +9, Stealth +21

BTW, the name's was going to be Purseater (purse-eater) but the moment I realized the misspell, some others named it in a post, and eventually liked the name, so Puseater has come to stay.
Managed to make my wife like the game (3.5)though she only plays elven monks

Horse/Dog Crew

Feel free to RP a bit before the attack starts if you want. :-) Due to the sheer number of NPCs, I'm not using maps - at least for now....

Due to the sheer number of things going on in Sandpoint right now, I'm going to run this super freeform. Roll skill checks as you deem necessary, but I'm going to be pretty rules-light for a bit. After a little while, the chaos will die down, everyone will gradually coalesce into your traditional party unit, and I'll start using maps and become my usual rulesy GM self. For now, go crazy, be as rules-heavy/light as you want, and have fun getting to know your Goblin self. :-)

Which makes playing goblins in a PbP so incredibly ironic.

LOL!

I should probably mention that if anyone wants to visit a specific location/interact with a specific NPC, let me know here. After all, Sandpoint is full of iconic people and places - especially if you've played/GM'd the AP before. For example, quite by accident, Brother Tochack just met Ameiko. We'll see how this plays out.... *evil GM grin*

@Silence: *pssst* in case you missed it, the priestshanks mentioned Desna before he got shot, there's a big tarp-covered wagon in the center of the square, and you could hear the faint rustling of wings before the chaos ensued. Sound familiar? ;-)

Heh, I'll do my best. Not sure what she'll do with them, maybe end up having a secret zoo where she can save animals from her own tribe :p

Hmmm, how come Stickymitts knows Common? He only has a 10 Int and no ranks in linguistics.

Who?

Also, I guess it saved me from being directly stabbed to the wall, but my characters doesn't usually wear cloaks. Or capes.
Ever seen the Incredibles?

@Tochack: In traditional games of RotRL, PCs are supposed to form a very deep connection with the town of Sandpoint. Because of this, there are a host of fully fleshed-out NPCs for the PCs to interact with, get to know, and possibly start a relationship with. Ameiko is one of the three most important/well-known. For people familiar with the AP, she's incredibly iconic.

Re: cloaks - you definitely don't wear one anymore; it has a big rip in it. ;-) And that's my favorite scene from the movie.

Shelalu is even more famous than Ameiko showing up in... 3 maybe 4 APs. Ameiko only made it into 2 :)

Somehow I don't think anyone's going to make friends with Shalelu. I have the feeling she may be an antagonist :p
