To Avery's

Spoiler:
Okay well now we're hunting cannibals,so my elf companion, do we just ride in and kill them all or are we going to talk them out of there goulish habits? And then there is the small matter of being trapped on island, I would really like to work on leaving this umm paradise at some point

Mystwalkur:

"Let's spy on them first. We do not know how strong they are. Spying on them will also tell us, hopefully, their weakness."

To Avery's

Spoiler:
Hhmm spying, (said with a slight smile) I will give it a shot but I really don't know much about such obviously militant or shadowing things. However if it was me I would, wait until after dark and then sneak around a bit.

Everyone:

You travel half a day then camp. Rokko and Sasha catch up to you. Mystwalkur and Msadventure you notice that Evan is not with them.
You can still make character commits.

That night you sleep.

The next day, you travel half a day when you come across a small collection of plank and thatch buildings. Behind these buildings, is a two story ( + light ) lighthouse. In the center of all the buildings, is a fire with a large kettle-pot. You see four humans doing daily work ( making rope, sharping weapons, fixing tools, etc. ). They are talking to each other in a language you do not understand. You are still standing in the jungle.

Averys turns to the group and says, "They are dumb as monkeys. However, a monkey with a sword is still dangerous."

"We will have to wait until we get there to see what is what."

whispering in Taldane:
If we have no reason to interact with these creatures, let's back up a bit and go around them. Then move on to a more civilized settlement.

I would rather have to deal with a small band than a large group, they are likely to know a lot more about this place than us, I think one or two of us should approach the camp and the rest should stay concealed to lend aid should things go badly.

Averys looks at you oddly and says, "This IS the civilized settlement. Ishirou's treasure map shows that we are on a island." She hands you a scrolled map.

Averys to Mystwalkur: "They are cannibals, do you want to become lunch?"

John to everyone:
"It's daylight, so some of the cannibals will most likely be out hunting/ gathering. At night, they may all be here and more for us to deal with all at once. It only takes one loud-mouth to alert the others. The more we hang around here the likelihood we will become dinner increases."

Robert: I look at the map. Is there a JPG of it? Describe it. This is the first I've heard of a treasure map.

You are correct, this is the first time Rokko has heard of the map.

I can post it to Carol's facebook. I can not alter/ mark it. You started in the north north-east and you are now in the south-west.

I am getting confused. There was a significant point made when we started this game that: ] "… So in my games (mechanics), Common does not exsist. "

If there is indeed NO COMMON Language; then in what language was John peaking to “everyone”???
I now am not sure (as a player) what I should or should not know. SO if and when people speak can it be a little clearer what is spoken in what language so I know what I can understand. I now am not sure I really understood John’s comment about me joining the group. I also guess that Pezock just ignored me.
So was John talking in what language? Did I understand it?

I did not feel like making two lists to list everyone. John spoke Elf, which everyone but Brown Deer and Rokko understands. Then he repeats in Taldane. Leaving only Brown Deer lost to what is going on.

Since Erin has no interest in the game, Brown Deer becomes a tag-along.

John has been speaking Elf to everyone but Rokko and Brown Deer from the get go. And to Rokko he has been speaking Taldane. So, yes you understood him.

One way this can be corrected is if we did the game via e-mails. You would get an e-mail of what you see/ hear/ know/ made your roll. I do not mind if everyone wants to do this. The bad: all the players will get your e-mail address.

As far as Pezock, shame on Pezock for treating people the way he got treated. :)

Suzy says that she would be more into the game if we use emails. What does everyone else think, do you want to go to using emails?

Players have informed me that doing the game over the internet is not working for them. I'm going to stop the game.

Sorry.

roll20.net is a better way to do an online game. Unfortunately it requires everyone to schedule the game sessions so all players are online at the same time which can be difficult where players have random schedules.

It's the internet aspect that did not go over so well. The lack of face-to-face humanness. The fact that it took forever to do/ go anywhere.

Yes. And the roll20.net solves that with the creation of a virtual table top. People use their computers with a web cam and microphone. The GM creates a virtual table top that people place their character icons on. Everyone can talk, GM can even talk privately to single players if needed. Take a look at the video clip demos on www.roll20.net. I know two people who use it every week for their games and have given it a great review (one acquaintance and one friend); although I have never had an occasion to used it myself. Oh! And it's also free. They sell icon packs, but you don't need them.

I am sorry if my confusion caused things to "fall apart" but if Ray is a local to your area I would love to play a single scenario while we are there next month if everyone has a night to do that. Maybe Erin would get into it and we could plan an evening when we could play. I have never used the site Mark referenced but others I know like it and even without the map we might be able to skype an evenings game. I actually don't want to give up on this as I think what we have started would be fun but we need a common language.

BTW (by the way) I do not speak Taldane so Mark and I were not talking about the game. :)

Where did I say that you spoke Taldane?

I miss read the statement due to (I should have scrolled another line up :(

At the top of the page I saw:

to Rokko he has been speaking Taldane. So, yes you understood him.

I should have scrolled. to read the whole post that included:

John has been speaking Elf to everyone but Rokko and Brown Deer from the get go. And...

SORRY it had been a long work week.
