Alright, then... I may end up playing a slayer. I love slayers. I'm also considering a brawler or investigator, very different I know, but still. Strongly considering a skinwalker, as they're pretty cool. A brawler or slayer would likely be a Coldborn (maybe Ragebred), an investigator would probably go Fanglord. I'll have to think on it.

Okay.
Just a quick update. I'm working on getting through all the character sheets. If you've not heard from me yet that simply means I haven't gotten around to you yet.If all goes as it is now, there will be three groups of six, or eighteen spots in total, and so far I've only given out four spots. If you've received a character sheet from me, that means I'm going to offer you a spot in one of the groups. Which one will depend on who else I'll approve. If you have a preference for playing with certain players, or if you have a problem playing with someone shoot me a PM please.
As those of you who have feedback can attest I'm a bit obsessive, so I'll be taking some time to get to everyone. If you've submitted something and have not heard from me in 24 hours from now, please let me know.
Thank you all for your patience.

Likewise, you get a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against such creatures. You may make Knowledge Skill checks untrained to identify such creatures.
Humanoid Traits (Ex) Humanoids breathe, eat, and sleep.
Pioneer (Perception) You have long lived along the southern border of Brevoy, in the shadow of wilderness known as the Stolen Lands. Life has been hard, but through hunting, trapping, trading, and coaxing crops from the freezing earth, you've learned how to survive on the rugged frontier. With the wilderness ever at your door, you've also learned much about its denizens and the wild creatures that lurk in that unwholesome land. Your family might even claim holdings in the Stolen Lands, with elders telling stories of being driven from or robbed of a lost ancestral homestead, fertile farmlands, bountiful orchards, or a hidden mining claim. Whether because of your personal expertise and familiarity with the borderlands or in order to reclaim your family's land, you've joined the expedition into the Stolen Lands. You begin play with a horse.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency A ranger is proficient with all simple and martial weapons and with light armor, medium armor, and shields (except tower shields).
Wild Empathy (Ex) You can improve the attitude of an animal. This abilty functions just like Diplomacy check made to improve the attitude of a person. You roll 1d20+1 to determine the Wild Empathy check result. The typical domestic animal has a starting attitude of indifferent, while wild animals are usually unfriendly. To use Wild Empathy, you and the animal must be within 30 feet of one another under normal circumstances. Generally, influencing an animal in this way takes 1 minute, but as with influencing people, it might take more or less time. You can use this ability to influence a magical beast with an Intelligence score of 1 or 2, but you take a -4 penalty on the check.

Well, there is a "Spymaster" position, and if the Kingdom decided to keep quiet about who exactly was fulfilling that role other than acknowledging that it was (because spies should be largely unknown)...

What does it take to truly make a King? In a land where many are competing for thrones and land, that can be a difficult question to answer... and all too frequently, it's easy for the victims to be forgotten by history. That almost happened to Micah... but unlike most, she really wasn't ready to simply accept her death. More than being killed, what she really wanted to see was a nation built up the way it should have been, with good and caring rulers upon the throne.
After all, for her, this was a little more relevant than most. She was an illegitimate daughter of one of the greater noble families, sired by a father who'd been having just a bit too much fun. Of course, bloodline politics were always fairly awkward, and she'd always been a surprisingly charismatic young girl. Her father had poor self-control anyway, and when he saw the attractive daughter, he gave in and took her mother in as a mistress. Micah was raised well, doing rather well in her studies, pleasing her teachers, and generally emerging as an example of what nobility should be. Unfortunately, there were those who would really have preferred that she not distract others...
Micah's death was as brutal as anyone could have come up with, and she doesn't enjoy talking about it. Or thinking about it. Or even acknowledging that it happened, really. More than that, however, it was after returning from the dead that Micah got a gift from the gods: she became an Oracle, and in light of her desire to finish her business in the world, it soon became evident that her Mystery was Time.
With death no longer being an issue, Micah quickly took to haunting the kingdom, using her growing magical powers to help guide things in the right direction. Attempts to exorcise her didn't really work, since she simply came back to keep haunting the place - but the nobility eventually realized that she wasn't too interested in troubling them as long as they didn't abuse their authority.
More recently, however, Micah has taken to haunting a certain group of people who are just about ready to start their own kingdom under the guidance of Brevoy...
-----------------------------
Special Traits:
As a ghost, Micah uses her Dexterity instead of her Strength to determine carrying capacity - and can hold quite a lot of items within her body, oftentimes more than it seems like could possibly fit. Though this isn't a "bag", as such, the penalty from the Haunted curse still applies, and Micah must still spend a standard action to retrieve items from her gear (unless it would normally take longer).
Seriously, though... *Rubs chin* What position would be the most fun to go for? I suppose going for the Treasurer position could be fairly fun... I don't think I've made a character totally obsessed with money yet. Could be fun.

I'd love to play! I have three characters more or less ready to play with. One is Aldarion the Sage, a half-elven treesinger (plant-shaping druid) who I very thoroughly enjoyed playing in one previous, albeit very short-lived, Kingmaker campaign. I'd prefer to play him again. But I also have two other characters I'd enjoy playing, if you're looking for another role to fill. They're both still in the works, but they're mostly done so I can whip them up for you soon. Iozif Kovalov is an Aldori swordlord, designed to lead (eyeballing the Ruler position here) as well as fight. But I see hustonj has already submitted a very similar concept, lol. And then there is Bregolas Fierceleaf, an elf spirit ranger. A mystical kind of elven wilderness warrior, obviously by his name inspired by the one, the only, Legolas Greenleaf.
You can refer to the Campaigns tab of Aldarion the Sage to get an idea of the character and my roleplaying style.
One question: by "standard epic fantasy build" for ability scores, I think you mean for us to use the 25 points Epic Fantasy Purchase method? Because the Standard Fantasy Purchase method is 15 points (e.g. Standard and Epic are two different tiers of the Purchase method). Everyone seems to be going with Epic 25 points, but I just wanted to make sure before I modify my stats (all three are built with High Fantasy 20 points at present). Thanks!

Loup Blanc |

Development! I'm going with brawler, albeit one who also uses a weapon--an improvised one at that! Still trying to decide between human and skinwalker, looking up some information and comparing stats between the two... In any case, he's going to be a lumberer who's been laid off and is now looking for work. Big, burly fella, representing the everyman in this mad quest for land. Leadership-wise, he'll probably end up as Warden, though possibly General. (The fact that Royal Assassin can be Strength-based is hilarious, but I don't see him doing that.)
EDIT: Tiny bit of research and thinking, and I'm going skinwalker. I'm wondering if I can reflavor a trait, though...
Your intense training has taught you how to infiltrate otherwise inaccessible ruins and extract their treasures without too much exertion.
Benefit: You gain a +2 trait bonus on Strength checks made to break doors and lift portcullises, and you treat your Strength score as 2 higher for the purpose of determining your carrying capacity.
I think the benefits of this work well with the character being a big guy who's just really, really strong after years of hard labor, although he's not a Pathfinder. Let me know what you think.

@kartari/Aldarion. I'll check him out today
@Kearan/loup and nightdeath, Guess I'll put you two in the same team, I'll be getting round to your chars asap
@Raven cool, I'll look forward to it
@Orelius, sorry to hear, but good luck and good fun wherever ye wonder
@Hustonj, if you could send me Josef's bonus languages he's done and approved.
@Papa I'll look him through in a bit.
Okay, eight people fully approved so far, and two I'm nearly done with, and I'll be taking on a new bunch today. I think I will be cutting off new recruiting here, Anyone who's already either sent (a partial character, or expressed interest before this post will all be considered) Anyone coming in after this might be, depending on the number of open spots, unless it's people from the group Nightdeath sent PM's to, who will be considered regardless

![]() |

I'm in. This is a character made for a previous Kingmaker campaign that fizzled shortly after it started. In terms of crunch, he is as Lancer Paladin. In terms of Fluff, he is a loud, Bombastic individual (He is modeled on Brian Blessed for those that know him). Fun to play, and very simple.
He is not a MIn/Max character, but rather a balanced one. I will be adjusting him for this campaign (he was built on 20 points, not 25 as this seems to be).

Ok another status update:
Approved characters:
Agrona
Alembic

Gnal

RavenVoron
Based on everyone still wanting to play, and sheets being up to spec, I've got 3 open spots, then it's all full. I haven't heard from a few in the last group so I've sent out PM's to them.
If all goes well the first two groups should be starting tomorrow/thursday

Alembic |

The first thing that Alembic remembers is ... pain. the kind of searing, screaming pain that made his limbs twitch and his hair ache. This pain seemed to go on for a lifetime. Having known nothing but pain for so long, the lack of it shocked his system almost as badly.
Looking at himself, he noticed 3 things: 1) he had no idea who he was, 2) he was naked, and 3) he was in the courtyard of a burning manorhouse. Trying to stand was when he noticed the fourth thing about himself: he was badly injured. As he managed to get to his feet, staggering away from the raging fire, he noticed the large glass vial in his right hand, upon which was simply written "Alembic".
...........
that, of course, was many years ago. Since then, Alembic has travelled the length and breath of Golarion but has yet to meet anyone who knows who he is. As he wanders extensively, he has taken up the only life that makes sense: that of the adventurer.

katataban |
Ok so 14 characters are completely ready (bar some lacking backgrounds I'd still like to receive ;) ) 6 more are in various state of adjustment/creation but should be ready soon.
2 characters I'm still waiting on. Orelius and Rednal.
I've made a preliminary division based mostly on character class and role, as well as some personal preferences I've seen on the thread.
I'll be starting discussion threads for the different groups, and if everyone joins I'll be starting the actual gameplay threads on Friday.
Ok so far
group 1 (Thread called A kingdom in the wilderness)
Dalgar
Sirsi
Kearen
Josef
Magnus
group 2 (thread called kingdom on the river)
Gavriil
Agrona
Brem
Xichikitte
Blake
group 3 (Thread called A new kingdom)
Kazz
Griffo
Praeno
Alembic
(JD)
group 4 (thread called frontier kingdom)
Aldarion
Torin
Enora
Egon
Dredd
I'll add rednal and Orelius to a group based on their characters
I hope people find this satisfactory. Any issues, please let me know.

hustonj |
@katataban - Sounds like it. I know personality issues could still be a problem (always can be), but that's a stock part of the gaming environment.
IF Kass agrees, that would be a
Druid
Fighter
Inquisitor
--unknown-- (JD)
Warpriest
That's a potential for an awful lot of muscle and quite a bit of divine magic, too! Interesting potential group.
------
Different thought, and a more important one:
I am AMAZED to see you stepping up to offer 4 tables, BTW. That's an awful lot of potential work. I think I can speak for everyone involved when I try to express how grateful we are that you are willing to take on this load. You are doing far more than we have reasonable cause to expect of anyone.

katataban |
I'll ask Kazz to switch. As for the four groups, I'm only able to do it because the AP gives me both structure and flexibility. I've never been a fan of pregen adventures, ever since I picked up my first copy of AD&D I made my own stories, but this is the first one I'm actually looking forward to playing out. Four times no less, meaning I get to see Lots of varying results.
As for the work involved I must thank Rob and the other boys and girls over at wolflair, as their programs take a heck of a lot of work out of my hand. Validating character sheets, or handling xp, all done for me. And with a little luck realmworks will be public soon so I can share maps and info with you at the touch of a button.
Still thank you for the praise, and I look forward to playing with all of you, which is the reason I got to four groups. Every character had something that I just want to see played out.

Praeno Varryl |

I think I can speak for everyone involved when I try to express how grateful we are that you are willing to take on this load. You are doing far more than we have reasonable cause to expect of anyone.
That's exactly right.
By the way, do we know what character will JD be playing? I'm not sure if there is such a thing as too much brawn, but if there is, I'm fairly certain that we're approaching that limit.

![]() |
Kudos to you GM, I'm running 3 tables of Wrath of the Righteous now and It's quite a bit of work as I have found.
Also Could we have a list of each table and their classes?
That way we can all see the ratio of brawn:skill:Arcane:Divine if that's a concern?
My $0.02. Looking forward to playing with all of you.

katataban |
Sure,
table 1
warpriest, brawler, bard, paladin, summoner
table 2
warpriest, sorcerer, witch, paladin, swashbuckler
table 3
Paladin, druid, inquisitor, fighter, warpriest
table 4
Paladin, inquisitor, monk, cavalier, druid
yes except for group 2 everyone is low on arcane, but story wise that grouping made sense, and I'll make sure to work around the issue on other groups. Should be easy enough.
