Trusk, the Warchild |
I'll let Wylliam take care of the CdG.
Trusk sees Luther get hit and, recounting his own injuries as well as those of Wylliam, brings his sword and holy symbol close to his chest.
"Gorum, give us the strength to continue this fight. For glory and victory in battle, it is in your name that I pray."
Channel Positive, Heal: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Channel Energy 2/3 remaining
Wylliam Harrison |
Seeing the zombie on the floor unable to do anything, Wylliam sees an opportunity.
"Let's make this quick."
Wylliam quickly aims the tip of his sword at the side of the zombie's skull and thrusts.
Swordthrust: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Crackling squishy sound: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Well, i think that'll confirm fatality...
Wylliam Harrison |
On behalf of scath's request, the alternate version of the coup.
COUP!!!
Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Extra Dmg: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
How about that, i expected it to be less than the normal.
A fort 24 is required to NOT die (again) from a sword to the brain..
which would be illogical to start with :)

"Thank you Trusk, that was most refreshing." Valeria, unwounded but invigorated by the positive energy, bows her head at Trusk in gratitude for the healing he has given. "Now that this one is dead, we move forward until the next one is spotted, and we do the same thing if it has a melee weapon, everyone prepare to chop it up when it charges." She continues, her voice still just barely above a whisper. "If it has ranged weaponry, then we charge it instead." Again taking the lead, she moves forward.
She moves forward along the red arrow. At the point marked 'A', the kobold becomes visible. If it's got a ranged weapon, she continues forward along the blue line and attacks it. If it has a melee weapon, she moves to the west 5 ft along the yellow line, and then readies an attack to hit it when it charges.
Readied Attack/Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 OMG it rolled a hit

Ray of Frost: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22! Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
I love 1st level sorcerers...

Valeria wipes the gore off her face from the latest, and makes a face. "Ugh, now I remember why I hate zombies." She whispers, before grinning. "That worked rather well though, if we keep doing that and moving slow and careful, we should be ok. Trusk? Do we go left or right?"
Trusk, the Warchild |
"Left is the stream and the area that the cat dragged that body from. Straight ahead is a caved-in section. You'd know that if you'd paid attention earlier."
Trusk, the Warchild |
"Well, lets see, caved-in dead end, or stream that flows deeper into the cave. I'm not sure what way we should go..." Trusk says sarcastically. "The only thing of note near the cave-in was another couple zombies and a piece of paper with some gibberish on it, while the stream area had drag marks from where that fake body was pulled out."
mdt |
Valeria grits her teeth and obviously has trouble not smacking Trusk. "First off, I shall never ask your opinion again, since you are apparently too uncivilized to give it. Secondly, what scrap of paper? You never mentioned a scrap of paper before. If you can't read it, perhaps someone who's had more than 2 days of schooling can? Or someone with a brain?"
Trusk, the Warchild |
"That's because all it is is a bunch of squiggles. Would you mention every bit of trash you find? But if you're so adamant about it being a writing, you can have it." Trusk says as he digs through his pockets to retrieve the scrap.
I'm not going to repost the link. It's in the most recent spoiler for me.
Luther Callahan |
Common and Varisian here.
"Well, if none of us can read it, we should take the note back and see if anyone in town knows the language. For now let's head along the stream, the worst that can happen is more zombies," Luther said, growing weary of the bickering.
"Wylliam, do you mind taking point?"
DM Kana |
Each take a look at the note in turn. None present are able to read it. Deciding to ask back at the village, the group moves on with Wylliam in front. As he goes around a curve, he can see another of those undead kobolds splashing in the water of the stream. It does not seem to have noticed you yet.
As you sun yourself on the rock and wonder why you are not in a cave, you think you hear something faint in the air. Perception DC 15

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Yay, succeeded at something anyway.
Alexis Carevin |
Alexis sends forth a Ray of Frost when the others are ready:
Mighty Ray of Frost touch: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14! Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
DM Kana |
B4: 1d20 ⇒ 16
The Kobold is still splashing in the water before it happens to turn to look towards Wylliam. In what one could say is excitement, it rushes forward, attempting to slam into Wylliam. As it does so, both Wylliam and Valeria swing as it gets in range, but both misjudge the creatures movements and miss. It's only Alexis's prepared spell that hits, freezing flesh. But it was not enough to stop the charging Kobold.
Attack+Charge: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 2 = 6
But Wylliam and Valeria were not the only ones to miss, the kobold tried hard to slam into Wylliam, but miss horribly, barely not leaving itself open.
Time: 2 mins 6 secs
Alexis Carevin |
Another one!: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 3 - 4 = 2! Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Alexis sends another Ray of frost at the creature, but this time her allies are in the way, thus she is careful and it goes wide!
Trusk, the Warchild |
Doesn't look like I've got any way to help fight it either, so don't feel bad.
Edit: Actually, I do! I just remembered about Guidance!
Trusk moves forward and offers Wylliam Gorum's blessing.
"Let Gorum's lust for battle guide your blade."
Scath Lynx |
Scath will attempt to locate the voice.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
Sorry, on the road, so limited time to post, and was concentrating on GM duties where I could
DM Kana |
Wylliam and Valaria are both hampered by the lower ceiling in the area, that forces them to duck. As they both try to swing, both miss the creature in front of them, though Valeria gets the feeling she would have hit if not hampered by the ceiling. Stepping back, she allows Luther to step forward. Luther slams his fist with into the creature with a satisfying crunch. His second attack goes wide. As he punches, Alexis shoots a ray at the creature only to have it fly past everyone to slam into the wall, marking the wall with a patch of ice.
The ceiling is 4-4.5 feet in this area. Medium creatures count as Squeezing in the green areas. This means -4 to Attack and -4 to AC while in the marked areas.
mdt |
Valeria, unable to attack again with her sword, casts instead.
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The ray goes wide, and Valeria grinds her teeth. Seriously, really tired of these rolls. It's no longer even close to funny.
Scath Lynx |
Scath continues to try to track down the voice.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Alexis Carevin |
Alexis is pissed off! Her rage is palpable, send shimmering sparks all around her, although most of her decent arcane power is expent:
Ray of Frost!: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 3 - 4 = 17! Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
DM Kana |
Trusk once again cast guidance on Wylliam, but it does not seem to help much as Wylliam's attack swings wide, but Alexis is true in her aim. Blasting the Kobold with her ray. Luther, too tries to take out the kobold.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Attack 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Luther first punch was a near miss, but as he aimed his second punch, the rays flew over his shoulder setting him off balance.
The kobold seemed to be smiling, maybe it's face was just stretched like that? It slammed into Luther.
Slam Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Though it seems it got distracted by the icy patch on the wall and missed Luther completely, looking worse for wear from the attacks that have hit.
Time: 2 mins 18 secs
mdt |
Valeria, still blocked, casts again.
Disrupt Undead: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19 About freaking time!
The ray snips between Luthor and Trusk and the burst of energy slams down the Kobold's throat.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Alexis Carevin |
Her rays are too weak! She need dark pacts to gain power!!
Ray of Frost!: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (10) + 3 - 4 = 9! Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Trusk, the Warchild |
I'm still here. You guys just decided to go on a posting spree while I was asleep. I was just going to cast Guidance again anyway, so that works.
Trusk continues to cast Guidance, offering the blessings of the Lord in Iron to Wylliam as he remains unable to enter battle himself.
DM Kana |
A long overdue post! May I ask that everyone include the modifiers of buffs and debuffs separate from your normal attack bonus (like the penalty from the low ceiling)? I don't wish to penalize you twice on accident.
Valeria's ray hits the kobold but does not take it down. The stubborn thing seems to want to continue it's existence. But Luther puts an end to any of those thoughts, slamming his fist into it's back. The zombie dies in an explosive burst of rot, decay and kobold parts. I need a Fort Save from Luthor.
Time= 2 mins 24 secs

Scath continues forward, trying to find the source of singing.

Valeria nods. "I am fine, I am unsure about Luthor, and Trusk still looks injured." She checks her pockets. "I would give you a potion, but I'm out."
Frackity frack frack! Valeria has a +1 Trait bonus to attack undead, and I just saw it. Frackity frack!
