Go ahead and introduce yourselves.
A little about how I GM php.
I roll initiatives for everyone, if there's a hidden trap or door, and you're character has skills that let you get perception checks on hidden things let me know now, and I'll roll those in secret.
As for initiatives. If you have critters, they act on your turn, if I have 4 baddies with the same initiative score, I roll once and just group them, that way I can act as a unite and then let you guys act (It's a little unfair in my favor, but I've never had a table wipe, so I understand my advantage and don't take full advantage of it :D).
Shayla Amye |
Hello, I'm Stephan! I'll be playing Shayla in this scenario. She's my first and favorite PFS character, and only recently reached level 2.
Shayla's rather blunt/straightforward, and relies more on instinct than reason. She's actually the eldest daughter of a royal elven family, but doesn't ever talk about it nor shows it in her mannerism. Shayla isn't too bright, but definitely not dumb.
Shayla absolutely hates humans, and has chosen them as her favored enemies. She won't act incredibly awful to humans, but Shayla believes they're all rotten and doesn't trust them. Half-elfs are treated with pity by Shayla, and she blames their parents for bringing the half-elfs into a world where most shun them. Actually, Shayla blames only the human parent. This has to do with the reason she hates humans. (See background.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The following skills Shayla has may help find secret things, or may reveal something about enemies:
Trained
Knowledge (Nature) +3
Perception +9 [+2 Fav Enemy]
Survival +6 [+1 Tracks +2 Fav Enemy]
Untrained
Knowledge (Humans) +1
Crin Frothelthimble |
Hi, I'm Nick, for this module I'll be playing Crintalabbarok Frothelthimble, or Crin to his friends. Crin is a gnome sorcerer wight the fey bloodline, so I'll be playing up his gnomish mischief ness. Looking forward to playing Crin, has been a backup character for a while, took part in a recent PBP module but we didn't get past the first combat before the game folded.
Crin is short, even for a gnome, and always tries to use his size to his advantage. For spells I plan to focus on compulsion spells, mobility, and combat magic. Also I can try to coordinate spell tactics with Cyrinda.
Crin's talents center around knowledge skills (nature and arcana) and Spellcraft. His interests include alchemical items, helping fellow gnomes, information about the First World. Oh, and extreme sports.
I live in this UK, so my posting pattern might be a bit off everyone else's. If you feel you need to NPC Crin to keep the game moving go for it, but I'll try to post as regularly as possible. Looking forward to this!
Strat Spineshank |
Strat Spineshank, cleric of the Dawnflower. Focused on clericing. He was my first PFS character as well back a couple Gencons ago. I beleive this should get him to level 4, but I"ll have to double check.
Strat's pretty straightforward, he doesn't quite get complicated plans that well. Quite a few time's his strategy has been to stand in front of a door to hold off some foes while keeping everyone alive with channels. Not intended, just the way it works out. He focuses on range with firebolts and melee with his falchion. He's not the best battle cleric, but he tries.
Skill wise Strat pretty much has Sense Motive maxed and that's it.
I live in Illinois as far as time zones go, posting time fluctuating between all three shifts pretty regularly (I need a better sleep pattern).
Cyrinda Wix |
Hi there!
Cyrinda is a pyromaniac gnome Sorcerer. I'm still trying to figure out her character a bit, but I've played her mostly as a little bit ditzie. She's good-natured and tries her best to help out in any way that she can. She's kind of like Charlie from Fire-starter, but happier. She's got a curiosity about magic of all stripes and is willing to try out magic items that she may not be familiar with (pumping up UMD).
I've recently picked up the ISWG and I'm trying to incorporate some of what I've read into my characters.
I'm more accustomed to playing martial-focused characters. Cyrinda's my 2nd spellcaster ever. Well, I've got a ranger, but he's still mostly a martial character.
Cyrinda tends to act first without thinking about all of the ramifications of said action - though I will always ensure that I'm not putting characters in danger or anything.
I tend to get bored at work and I'm willing to post multiple times a day on weekdays. On weekends, I'll likely just get 1 post in a day.
Alspeth Leroung |
Hello!
I'm Kyle, and this is my fighter, Alspeth Leroung. She's almost level 2, and has a bit of a serious/military streak to her thinking. She's a Cheliaxian expatriate, making her way across Avistan to see where she can help those less fortunate.
She's created because I wanted at least one character that wasn't a spellcaster.
Strat Spineshank |
I suppose looking at group setup the investigator would have trapfinding (plus I wouldn't mind seeing how it plays!). Not really sure how needed it would be here, but only thing I see lacking off the top of my head. But really I'd say which you want!
Nikomedes Diogenes |
Niko it is! The investigator doesn't get trapfinding automatically, but can take it in lieu of Investigator Talents. I need to level him up today, but he should be ready to go shortly.
Crin Frothelthimble |
I might have missed it, but did we receive faction missions for this quest? I was thinking I couldn't remember what mine was, but when I looked through the threads I didn't see a mention of them.
And as for the party, it seems there are less of us than were on the recruitment thread, so we are:
Crin
Strat Spineshanks
Shayla Amye
Nikomedes Diogenes
Anyone else? Just wanted to know, so I don't ignore anyone in my posts.
CrazyHedgehog |
**chagrined** Sorry Alspeth! Knew I'd left someone off the list. :)
I was thinking more of Cyrinda, I thought GM included her in the party, but don't think she's appeared on the game thread. Just wanted to check, as it was a problem with the last PFS play by post I was in, not knowing who the active players were.
Shayla Amye |
Welcome back, Strat! And thanks ;)
Strat Spineshank |
Sorry, I'm still here. I had a project dumped onto my lap after returning from my trip and have been working on it since for the most part. I should be reliable again after getting caught up. I didn't post it here apparently and apologize for that. The next thing on my schedule isn't until October atm, so hopefully no more issues in this game.

Bonus Boon Roll - A 20 gets you a choice of table boons a 1 gets you a random roll.
Niko: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Strat: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Shayla: 1d20 ⇒ 20 CONGRATS
Alspeth: 1d20 ⇒ 20 CONGRATS
Crin: 1d20 ⇒ 16
P33J: 1d20 ⇒ 1 Random
Random Roll: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Boon 1:
Lingering Resonance: A recent encounter with an enemy spellcaster left your body strangely receptive to spell effects. At the beginning of a scenario, you may announce that you are using this boon. The next time that you fail a saving throw against any spell or spell-like ability from an enemy spellcaster, have your GM write the name of the spell below. Choose one of the following benefits, and cross the other off your Chronicle sheet.
• When you cast the listed spell, you may increase the DC of the saving throw by 2.
• When you roll a saving throw against the listed spell, you gain a +4 bonus on the save.
You may use this bonus once for free, after which you should check the box below; each additional use of the selected benefit costs 1 Prestige Point.
Boon 2:
Long Distance Support: You heard the Decemvirate’s call to arms as the Fifth Crusade began, but for whatever reason the society did not send you to the front lines immediately. You may nonetheless send extra supplies to aid your fellow Pathfinders. At the end of any scenario that does not take place in Mendev or the Worldwound, you may choose to spend 1 Prestige Point to send a cache of necessary supplies north to aid the war effort. On a line below, have your GM record where the scenario took place and initial the entry. Upon filling all five lines, you gain two benefits.
First, you gain a Mendevian Commendation for your tireless efforts to supply the crusade. A Mendevian Commendation grants you a cumulative +1 bonus on Charisma-based skill checks to influence Mendevian Crusaders (maximum +3).
Second, as a swift action while fighting a creature with the demon subtype or bearing an unholy symbol of a demon lord, you may grant all allies that you can see within 60 feet a +2 circumstance bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls, and saving throws against those creatures for one minute. When you use this second ability, cross it off your Chronicle sheet.
Boon 3:
Mendevian Weapon Training: Queen Galfrey of Mendev understands both that poorly equipped crusaders are of little use to the ongoing war against demonkind and that an inadequately trained crusader cannot make effective use of good equipment. As a result, those who dedicate themselves to the Fifth Crusade have access to training and equipment that might not otherwise be available. When you would be permitted a Day Job check, you may instead spend 4 Prestige Points to receive intensive training with a specific weapon or suit of armor. You receive a masterwork version of the weapon or armor, and you gain proficiency in that specific weapon or armor (but not others of its type). If you are already proficient with the selected armor or weapon, you instead gain a +2 bonus to CMD against disarm and sunder combat maneuvers targeting the chosen item.
Choose the weapon or armor from the following list: breastplate, glaive, heavy shield, or longsword.
Boon 4:
Moment of Glory: Whether it is by fate, fortune, or circumstance, you are able to tap into a hidden reserve of power at just the right moment to perform a truly extraordinary feat. By activating this boon as a free action, you become a mythic character (1st mythic tier) for 3 rounds. If you fall unconscious due to hit point loss during this time, you automatically stabilize without needing to attempt a Constitution check. In addition, once before this effect ends, you may use the surge mythic ability to increase any d20 roll you just made by rolling 1d6 and adding it to the result. Using the surge is an immediate action taken after the result of the original roll is revealed. This can change the outcome of the roll.
When you use this boon, cross it off your Chronicle sheet; however, anytime you successfully complete (earning the maximum possible number of Prestige Points) a scenario that using the “hard mode” option, you may have the GM sign this boon. You may use this boon one additional time for each such signature you receive.
Reporting Stuff: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (11) + 28 = 39
Shayla Amye |
Awesome, woohoo!
I'd very much like Moment of Glory for Shayla!
Shayla Amye |
I'm not sure how many scenarios offer "hard mode" and how often I'll play it, but a temporary raise to a mythic tier could do so many awesome things if a situation ever looks hopeless! :)
Shayla Amye |
I'm really hoping we'll make it in time... :S
Shayla Amye |
Sent! :)
Shayla Amye |
Together with a GM sheet Shayla'll get from me, this'll bring Shayla to level 3!

Shayla doesn't have a day job.
GM, did you report the game? I can't find it in the list of reported Gameday games, and yesterday was supposed to be the last day you could report it for the Gameday.

Shayla doesn't have a day job.
GM, did you report the game? I can't find it in the list of reported Gameday games, and yesterday was supposed to be the last day you could report it for the Gameday.
The reporting deadline got pushed out until the 9th due to the hoilday and PaizoCon, but even without that, it ususally takes the VOs about a week or two to enter reported games. (Possibly longer now, with the probable rush of reporting this weekend.)
Shayla Amye |
Thanks Niko, I wasn't aware the deadline got pushed out! :S
The list I linked does by the way also show the games the VOs haven't reported yet: I reported a game I ran yesterday, and it's on the list. (With 'Reported: No' next to it.)
It's amazing to see how many games have been played during the Gameday!
Crin Frothelthimble |
Oh man, I'm out for a couple nights this weekend, and come back to find it's all go!!
Glad we were able to finish up, it was a fun scenario and fun group; thanks everyone!
GM, have sent you my email, and here is day job roll:
Day Job - Profession (herbalist): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
