Err.. why is there an invoice in the shared gm folder? From Willis and Associates concerning a 50 dollar invoice.

The Exchange 5/5

Apparently someone names Ben Rislove wasn't paying attention to what he was sharing. Does that name sound familiar to anyone?

5/5

lol ... I've removed the invoice ... also removed the pregens folder since the pregens are a free download from Paizo

I tried adding a JPG screenshot of the final map for 5-09: The Traitor's Lodge I created in my Roll20 table. It can be used as a guide when drawing out the final encounter, and if I can get the image itself loaded can be dropped into VTT with only a little fuss.

Make sure you're looking at the updated folder. Try this link. Link to the guide here.

Silver Crusade 1/5

Or this link if you're unwilling to create a Google-Account.

The Exchange 4/5

Thank you for this.

Grand Lodge 3/5

Added folder and timeline for 05-11 Library of the Lion.

Grand Lodge 3/5

Added a document for searching rooms with a breakdown of the size and discoveries in each room.

Sczarni 4/5 5/55/5 ****

Just added a Deck for the Library of the Lion

Grand Lodge 4/5

Added a cheat sheet summarizing swimming, drowning, and underwater combat rules to the Song of the Sea Witch folder. I print this out when I run a scenario with swimming involved.

Technically, I'm not sure if this is "GM Prep", but it's been really helpful for me when advising players, so I thought you might find it useful.

I've been working on a spreadsheet that calculates the DPR for melee and ranged weapons. This lets me quickly answer questions like "Which does more damage: Great Sword or Earthbreaker?" or "Which spell is a better buff for my archer: Aspect of the Falcon or Gravity Bow?" or "Should I take Improved Precise Shot or Manyshot?"

I've been tweaking the calculations and adding features for a while, and I think it's finally ready to leave the nest.

I've posted the spreadsheet, WeaponDamageOdds.xlsx, to the "Helpful Resources" folder.

Currently, the Melee tab factors in the following for each weapon:

  • Number of dice
  • Damage die
  • Crit threat
  • Crit Multiplier
  • Using two-handed (for both strength bonus and Power Attack)
  • To hit penalty for multiple attacks (for TWF, flurry, etc.)
  • Attacks per round
  • Custom Additional attack bonus (such as weapon enhancements)
  • Custom Additional damage bonus (such as weapon enhancements)
  • Concealment/% miss chance
  • Mirror images

For all weapons across the board, you enter BAB and can set separate attack and damage bonuses for the following:

  • STR Bonus
  • Power attack
  • Morale
  • Competence
  • Trait/racial
  • Other

The Ranged tab is about the same, with "Add Str bonus" in place of "Using two handed" and Deadly Aim in place of Power Attack. I'm playing with a range increment tab, too, but it's not done yet.

I've maintained all the columns showing each calculation step, so you can just unhide these if you want to track what I'm doing.

I haven't added more advanced calculations like bonuses to critical confirmation rolls or situational things like Clustered Shots for overcoming DR. If there's some feature you'd like to see, let me know, and I can try to puzzle out how to make it work.

Hello all,

Doing some housecleaning, and looking over the activity, I noticed a LOT of maps being uploaded. Unfortunately these maps were snipped images of mappack/flipmap files.

Having this up for free download technically (per Mike) violates the EULA for use of Paizo products. I will be going thru and taking these out over the next week (Please do not start deleting things from the shared drive I will handle it).

I have also updated the Read me File.. you can find it HERE

Basically the jist of this is:

If it is a product (mappack/flipmap, information out of a hardcover book like the npc codex pregens) please do not upload to the shared drive. This is for prep work that you create yourself. I apologize to the online players as I know some of the prep work in there is for you guys as well and I'm sure that is why these map files are on the drive, however, I cannot have EULA violating material on the shared drive as that could cause it to have to go away.

Thanks.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at

Does this include Hero Lab portfolios that contain named (non-generic Bestiary) NPCs from the Scenarios?

I've been creating portfolios containing all of the NPCs as I prep. I'm happy to upload them, but I don't want to run into the same copyright issues.

As far as I know the HL files are fine, basically what I'm talking about its snipping a mappack image out of the scenario and uploading it to the shared drive. Or uploading the image of a flipmap. Something that is a product off of Paizo's website that in essence the uploader is now giving away from free.

Uploaded Hero Lab portfolios for 3-03, 5-06 and 5-10. I've done what I can to deal with errors in stat blocks, but I advise anyone using these to review them first.

Dark Archive 3/5

Added a paper minis and tokens file I made for 5-08: The Confirmation. Hope I did it right.

5/5

Ok ... the drive has been audited ... There were a few things I felt skirted the EULA line (such as faction missions) so I removed them, pending a response from the powers that be on them.

Grand Lodge 3/5

I just uploaded a document for 5-11 Library in the Lion that lists all the possible deception points that the PCs can get. I plan on using this after the PCs are done, that way it's a quick reference of what the PCs did and didn't do.

If you see any typos/errors/things I forgot, please feel free to modify this document and improve upon it.

Thanks!

Edit: I also uploaded a google spreadsheet for the same scenario that I plan on using to track the flow of time within this scenario. I've tried to incorporate in the note column the checks needed for certain events through this scenario. In the columns for the players, I just have them listed as Player 1, Player 2, etc., so I would recommend downloading a copy of this spreadsheet or printing it so you can modify it to track the players easier.

As before, if you see anything that could improve upon this, please do so.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Noticed that 0-27: Our Lady of Silver had stats for [REDACTED] updated to PFRPG. I really want to use these, but I thought updating NPCs was verboten. Was an exception made for this scenario?

Grand Lodge 4/5

In previous versions of the GtOP the guidelines for running Season 0 mods was that you could update NPCs to Pathfinder rules. This has since been changed.

Shadow Lodge 4/5

Shame that. I guess it's there in case they change their minds again.

I've made some updates to the spreadsheet, so I've replaced the original file with a new one: DamageCalculator.zip.

It now pulls AC and HP from the "Average Monster Stats" in the PRD (based on APL+1), and it covers two-handed, one-handed, TWF, flurry, and up to 3 iterative attacks. You can adjust for concealment, cover (for reach and ranged), mirror images...and some other stuff. (No DR yet, though. Sorry.)

The link is to a ZIP file with two files in it. The Excel file is the calculator, and the Word document has all the instructions and formulas, and it even explains the math behind the formulas I used (if you care).

Shadow Lodge 5/5

Added an open office spreadsheet Scenario Tracker a while back at the request from another thread

OK, I added a file. I've been frustrated with trying to calculate APL, Tier, and to have or not to have a 4 player adjustment. So I created a set of tables. So far, just season 4+.

If you find a mistake, or have other feedback, I'm all ears :-).

GM Shared Prep --> Helpful Resources --> GM Tools --> PFS APL and Tier

If this is helpful, I'll create the 0-3 season tables.

5/5

I made a copy of Mr. Buston's Lion Mission Briefing Handout in the Library of the Lion folder and modified the last section to remove spoilers. Hope you don't mind, Mr. Buston. I'll delete it upon request.

Dark Archive 4/5

I feel folks should be free to correct and enhance the material on there - IMO that's what its for.

I don't hand out the briefing until after I have done the verbal briefing and the following Q&A. So yes it is a spoiler for the reveal during the briefing if you hand it out beforehand.

Not sure how you get across what they are looking for without some aspect of that coming out at some point during the briefing. And the "get out of jail free" message can't come across without them knowing this - which I think is an essential part of the briefing follow up.

Grand Lodge 3/5

I really enjoyed the handout for Library of the Lion. I feel like this really helped out my players when I ran it and they all agreed that it helped. I think the reason why is because sometime at game stores, it's hard to hear the GM and it's hard to absorb every little detail about the mission, so being able to read along helped them absorb the details of the mission. I've been meaning to create these handouts for other missions as well, but time just hasn't permitted me to do so.

I want to thank whomever put the maps up for A Bitter Bargain. I printed them on cardstock and am thinking about lamenating them as this scenario will be popular.

Hey, just ran Library of the Lion with extensive help from the Shared Prep Drive (which is AWESOME!), and found a couple of issues.
Not sure how to correct them, but hopeful that someone more tech-savvy can make it happen.

1. In the card deck, the encoded example message on Taldan Cipher 1 is missing a letter. The final word reads "OTRES", when it should be "OTRSES". This throws the whole sequence out and you just get gibberish instead of the intended meaning "SOLDIER".

2. In the Deception points document, point A. b. says to reduce by 1 point if the illusion cards are not removed. That should be reduce *to* 1 point (therefore losing 2).

Gotta say, the rest of the material up for this scenario is pure gold. Many thanks to everyone who contributed!

Hi,

I was asked to upload a copy of the PFS checklist I made for players to keep track of what PFS events they have or have not played.

It is form-fillable and is useful to have at open fiesta slots to figure out what event to play that everyone there hasn't already played yet.

I will keep it updated as new stuff comes out.

I think this is an exceptional idea, and it looks great so far! The singular, only, problem I see is its size - if there were a way to condense it down to where I could print it front/back of a single piece of paper, or as a 2-3 page thing on an e-reader, I'd start getting these distributed to every GM I know!

I also caught something else - the current Guide does say that there is an exception for APL and subtiers - the example it gives is if you have 6 level 3 characters (15 TPL) in a 1-5 scenario, they can choose to play down (@6) or up (@4). I know that doesn't easily fit on the chart itself, so maybe another note below?

Either way, again, a great start I think!

They only get the choice if it's a season 0-3 (i.e. before the 4 party table adjustments). In season 4+, they play up at the 4 party adjustment even if no one is really in tier.

3/5

@CanisDirus: I'll see if I can make it smaller and still usable.

Haven't looked at the APL rules for season 0-3, but I ran everything for season 4+ through a spreadsheet before creating the table just to make sure. As time permits, I'll tackle season 0-3 and look over the choice rules.

I just wanted to say thanks for all of the effort everyone puts forth for these shared prep documents. We had an overwhelming turnout at Pensacon this year, overflowed our planned tables, and ended up needing two extra GMs to run Siege of the Diamond City cold, which would have been virtually impossible without all of the notes people have been collecting here. Your efforts are all more than appreciated.

Corrected some mechanics for 00-16 To Scale the Dragon (the PFS monster stats were listed for something that is noticeably weaker in 3.5 for which the scenario was written).

I also created and added a "sled dog team" as a 1x5 image that can be printed out and cut up to allow for GMs to move sleds around a board during the chase scene(s).

I also took the cold weather / ice / high altitude info from said scenario and made a GM "cold-ice-mountain" guide - saved into one of the Guide folders under Helpful Resources.

Uploaded a GM 101 Certificate to the Helpful Resources folder.

The PFS Sheet v1 is currently semi-functional. I'm leaving it up for now because it does work for calculating OOS gold, but there are some corner cases in which its calculations for available subtier are incorrect. Use with caution.

Calling all prep users. There was information that was deleted by someone that didn't realize they were deleting directly from the shared drive.

They have cleared their deleted folder and the information has been lost as it was not in the backups that were created.

I am working with a friend to create a dedicated website for this as this is the 2nd occurrence of information being lost.

The list is quite long and quite honestly would take hours to write out. Needless to say, if you can look at the details and the long list of what was removed and replace any of it, it would be much appreciated.

**If anyone knows of a free webhosting idea or would be willing to help create a dedicated website and make it functional please email me or PM me here, any and all help is appreciated.
