How does spells work in your world? Do clerics and other divine spellcasters have access to the complete spell lists? Or do you require some sort of feat, quests, special prayers taught by rare monestary etc?

Ill take that as a "yes choose spells as if you have complete access to the spell compendium".

Had a devil of a time getting onto the Paizo boards yesterday, dunno if I was the only one...but yes...feel free to use any spells you have access to from the compendium.
First game post will be up late Sunday/or Monday AM...EST.

Archivist:
I have a house-rule request. As you know, I'm playing a Stormlord, which has a number of abilities that utilize/affect javelins. Of course, I am also playing a druid, which for some unfathomable reason does not get proficiency in javelins. Druids do have proficiency in spears and shortspears (javelin-like weapons, to my mind), however. What this means is I have to take the Simple Weapon Proficiency feat just to get proficiency in javelins, to make the most of my chosen PrC. But I really have no desire to use any other simple weapons.
So any chance of getting a house-rule that druids get proficiency in javelins too, thus allowing me to choose a more useful feat?
I'm not trying to get get around the rules (well, I am) but it seems logical to me that druids should have proficiency in javelins too, and it seems like a waste of a feat just to get proficiency in one weapon.
I eagerly await your ruling. :)
If you say no, I'll spend the feat and the character stays the same. Either way, looking forward to the game!

Sorry to keep making changes and requests, but I just found a variant druid in Dragon #328, the Storm Druid, that would certainly fit my concept even better.
Do you have that issue, and can I make the change? If you don't have it, I can certainly give you the details. Basically, I would lose animal companion, wild empathy, woodland stride, trackless step, and wild shape, and gain some storm/wind abilities instead. Let me know if you want/need more specific details.
Once again, I understand if you don't want changes this close to starting. But I just found this while looking through old issues, and we haven't started yet, so I thought I'd give it a try. Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Sorry to keep making changes and requests...
No worries. I checked it out and I think it's fine...certainly suits your concept well. Also, you can use the Javelin...I don't really see why it's excluded.
Game post will be up in a couple of hours, my apologies for the delay...it's been a busy morning.

Cool! Thanks a lot. I'll make the changes ASAP.
FYI, I'm in Europe, 6 hours ahead of EST, so that may make my posts come later (or earlier) than everyone else's. Hope it won't be a problem. (And it's also why I'm going to go to bed now and change up the character tomorrow morning.)
Bring on the first game post! Woo!

Oh, how you tease. I wait in mistified mystery.
I was thinking, an easy way for that 'death sight' idea would be either a modified deathwatch spell or visions slammed forcefully into his head whenever you wanted.
Edit: I prefer the second method as then you don't have to make up side quests on the spot and can manipulate the plot (for my character) as directly as you want.

Updated my character, changes summarized below:
Reflex save increased to +4 (from Wind Sense)
Replaced Simple Weapon Proficiency with Point Blank Shot
Changed a couple of selected spells
Updated background to reflect loss of animal companion ability
To the game thread!

You're not the only one obsessively hovering over the boards. :)
But this is my first pbp game, so I'm still trying to find my feet, as it were. But I'll try to post more. That said, I've been waiting for a little more info from the Archivist to react to.
Maybe things'll pick up after Thanksgiving...

My first PbP too. Eager beaver and all. It took me the first day or so to realize "Oh yeah its thanksgiving in the States". Being from Canada we had our Thanks Giving on Oct 8th.

I think its kind of funny that the spell casters are sitting in a room being excluded from the party. But the more pyshically inclined (jock like) are in the party. Spellcasting geeks unite! Maybe I will have my character break out a game of "Bureaucrats & Beancounters" TM.
I say the spellcasters crash the party. All in favor of charming the guests say: "Aye."
All opposed will be fireballed.

Let's hope its nothing more than a computer failure, holiday schedules or some such.
I also hope that he's back soon :-)
I've been looking forward to starting this all last week.
