Whitethrone? How will this map differ from the one in City Map Folio?
The map of Whitethrone is a more detailed version of the one that appeared in the City Map Folio, incorporating some additional details of the city that appeared in Pathfinder Campaign Setting: Irrisen, Land of Eternal Winter.
It's still a map of the same city, however, so there is not much difference between the two, other than the amount of detail shown. But since Whitethrone is a significant location for the Reign of Winter Adventure Path, we decided to include a map of it in the Reign of Winter Map Folio.

Thank you for the reply, Rob! :)
Hmmm ... by "more detailed" do you mean numbers at locations important to the AP or more buildings added?
In other words, could I - when the party arrives in Whitethrone - hand the map from the City Map Folio to the players while I use the map from the RoW Map Folio? Or do I have to tell them something like "there are a few big or otherwise obvious structures/garrisons/whatever which don't appear on your map"?

More detailed means more accurate buildings and terrain features. We don't generally put tags on poster maps - that's reserved for the maps in the adventures themselves. Which means the RoW poster map would be fine as a player's map.
A good way to look at it is that the City Map Folio map would be a map you might find outside of Irrisen - all the basics are there, but there are a number of inaccuracies. The RoW Map Folio map would be a map you could buy in Whitethrone itself.

I will pass on this product even though I am planning to run this AP early next year. The maps offered do not seem to be of much use when I already have most of them, or acceptable substitutes that I could even draw myself.
No, what I needed this to be was a folio containing PDFs of all the maps from the AP with the notes for the DM removed. Something I could access so I could print out the AP's maps without having to go into Photoshop or MS Paint and modify them so the players wouldn't get giveaway clues when I lay them out on the tabletop (electronic or otherwise).
I don't understand why the AP's can't follow the example set by the PFS scenarios. With those maps it's as simple as clicking on the image in the PDF (which then highlights), copy, open MS Paint, Paste, and done. The map copies without any of the traps, room numbers, or "place badguys here" icons on it. It becomes something that you can simply adjust the size of for scale and hit "print".
This is the first Paizo AP I will be running, so I don't know what the past APs have done. It seems silly that PFS can figure out how to format things for ease of use, but the AP staff can't?
Disappointing, and a lot more work for me.
P.S. If you have some technical tips that would help with this problem, please share them and I will take it all back.

Are you familiar with our interactive maps PDFs?
(The linked product is for the Shattered Star Adventure Path because the Reign of Winter Interactive Maps is not yet available.)

In my view, the other two maps make the product worth it's price (especially the ink-and-parchment one, I love those!)
However, I thought I'd mention that the inclusion of Whitethrone was a disappointment to me. I understand the points you make here, nonetheless it feels like my previous Whitethrone map has just got a little less useful. I'm not sure that it really would have mattered if I didnt have a super-up-to-date-and-detailed version.
It's hardly a big issue (I cant remember it happening before now) but as a general rule I, for one, would prefer that a folio not include an updated version of some previously released map.

As a general rule, I think that we would prefer not to release new versions of previously released maps in map folios. In this case, however, we thought it was better to do include the Whitethrone map in the map folio. As I stated before, it's an important location for the AP, and as a result, is it better to assume (or require) that people buy a 4-year-old product with five other city maps that have NO connection to the AP at all, or reprint one of those maps in the map folio with updates and more detail? Obviously, we took the second course, and while that means you got a reprint of a map you already have, it gives a lot of other people a new map they can use with this AP.
Glad you liked the other two maps, and sorry that the Whitethrone map is not what you would have preferred.

I've got pdfs of each of the Reign of Winter modules. I've used the maps so far as handouts in my game but I'd like to print them out full scale for use at the table during combats. Is there an easy way to scale up the interactive maps?
