Way too late for this, but this is a playtest I wish they put the multiclass archetype in to try out also

I’m hoping for two paths to choose from at level 1, a blaster path and a martial path.

One question, I believe that even if I bought the PDF today, I would only receive it on the 27th, ok. But how do I get access before that date? Is there a pre-sale period? Grateful.

You do the subscription plan for Rulebooks. You get both products and when your book ships you get the pdf. Sometimes early sometimes street date. Depends where you are on the shipping list that release

what are those?

They were a chain of Monk Style Feats. You know, truth be told I’m not sure I really remember what their big draw was, but I do remember liking them. Plus, more Style feats for the Monk and Martial Artist would be nice

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Does the linnorm style feats make their return in this book?

@Aaron Shanks: Are there Undead options for an Inventor that takes the Construct Innovation?

Thank you :)

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Any word on if Inventors will get the ability to make a corpse like construct, like Dr. Frankenstein?

@ Kage_no_Oukami: I remember that and it always disappointed me in the 1e days. I always felt that just because WotC took D&D really heavy in to Dragon territory didn't mean that Paizo still couldn't do some draconic options and a reasonable player race (their own Dragonborn). Now that we are in 2e and have Versatile heritages and a fairly unique system I think it's totally safe for them to do some dragon options.

Like I've said, a book on Pathfinder's dragons would great, in my opinion. Class options, a race, and an entire lore section that discusses the various dragons motives and more common personality traits would be great. Book of Dragons would be great I think.

Would love a book of draconic options. Ancestries, heritages, feats, archetypes, equipment, and lore. Bring it all :)

Hey folks,

With the release of Fizban’s Treasury of Dragons for 5E, I was wondering if anyone was working on conversions for the various critters, like Dragonborn, Draconians, and the Elder Brain Dragon? I haven’t got my hands on it yet, but those are the stand outs to me.

A staggered feat that lets them take other innovations at later levels.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

I am trying to decide how I feel about the Inventor. I've read through the class and it left me with mixed feelings.

One, I think it can be and certainly looks like a fun class. The innovation is a fun and flavorful mechanic. The gadgets look fun, and the steampunkness is awesome.

But where my hang up is, and it's my fault for not playtesting, is that I was expecting this to be THE crafting class. I really did expect, features or feats that supplement cost/requirements to craft items. I feel the innovations could be more thematic, like building up draconic armor as the innovation. That could be more likely in future supplements though. But yeah, the sheer focus on just that ONE innovation and not really building up stuff for my allies leaves me very disappointed in the class. I also was hoping for a class feat similar to the Druid's Order feats. Something that let me also expand to other innovations, even if they were staggered so not quite as strong as your first choice.

I guess, I was fully expecting a Pathfinder Artificer which was something I deeply wanted in 1st ed. In the end, I am going to build a couple and give it a fair shot, but yeah. My personal expectations certainly dampened it for me.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Thank you! Got the email, have a great day!

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Has the book been delayed? It's not showing up on the November ship list.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Evening, just got my shipment and I was missing the Grand Bazaar, what’s the next step to get this missing item? Thank you for the assist!

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

I just want to know if there are new polearms or spears and if any of them have finesse or agile. Really want to make a Swashbuckler that uses one of those.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

I’m hoping for Kineticist and Slayer or a spear focused class. Though a Spear/Polearm based archetype for the Swashbuckler would be perfect.

Since we are getting a Pathfinder Artificer the last class I want it Kineticist, especially if they give it a martial artist build option.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

would someone mind elaborating on the Flame and Wildfire Druid orders?

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

I can’t wait to see the new archetypes, I’m especially interested in the Runelord one

I think fighter might be the beast deal, especially considering that a critical hit would result in either a critical strike and a critical spell strike.

As for dedications, consider that if you take one before lvl 6, you'd probably not able to take eldritch archer asap ( there are some dedications which also give you archetype skill feat, but ranger/caster archetype are not among those).

I suggest you not to take a dedication until lvl 6, and take then eldritch archer.

Anyway, the only downside of being an eldritch arthcer is that you'd need something to move and benefit in the same time of your eldritch shot.

I really like the goblin scuttle ( available through adopted ancestry ) which allows you to disengage if an ally comes next to you or, since you are an archer, maybe even a mature companion might do the trick ( then being a ranger would definitely help you out, because as a fighter you'd need to get a dedication to get a companion ).

An alternative, is using haste.

It would require some money between lvl 8 and lvl 12, but starting from lvl 12 ( given a ring of wizardry ) you'll be given 3 haste per day. By level 14 you might have 4 ( or 5, if you have the next ring of wizardry tier ) per day.

Tough choice indeed.

You have to decide if you prefer to be more combat oriented ( fighter ) or a way more versatile character ( ranger ).

ps: since it's a regular group I have to ask, is this with or without the free archetype variant?

As it stands, without the free archetype variant. If we do go that route, thoughts?

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Morning everyone,

I'm looking to make a fun Kitsune Eldritch Archer but I'm not sure what a good strategy for class building.

So, I've been bouncing between starting off Ranger or Fighter. I'm leaning heavily towards Fighter. Now should a archetype into Ranger, a Caster class, or stay the Fighter course? The Archer archetype doesn't really seem to pay off with starting off as either a Fighter or Ranger.

Thoughts??

If this helps, this is NOT for PFS but a regular group.

Lanathar wrote:

This seems to have devolved into a discussion about the power of free archetypes

The original question has already been answered but I would like to add that option 2 is the only possible answer as there a no level 2 archetype feats other than the dedication. So if they got it as level 1 then there would be nothing to take at level 2

I have seen a houserule variant to give the level 2 dedication at level 1 and then use the slot at level 2 to take a level 1 class feat. But that might have been for situations when playing without free archetype now that I think about it

You’re not wrong, 2nd level did make the most sense but the reason I want clarification was because of the Ancient Elf heritage, which does allow a multiclass archetype at level one.

My original intent was a better safe then sorry Q&A…not this power level discussion.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Hey folks, simple and fairly silly question but I’m not sure I’m understanding the free archetype variant.

Do the players get the archetype at 1st level, then at 2nd and every even get a free feat from the archetype

-or-

Do the players get the archetype at 2nd level for free, then the subsequent free archetype feat every even level?

I feel like the answer is simple and I’m overthinking it, thanks for the help!

I’ve always wanted a Paizo version of the Draconomicon with character options, monster variants, items, and magic all geared towards dragons.

I remember (maybe incorrectly) that Paizo had put out they were intentionally avoiding a lot of dragon material because at the end of 3.X’s lifecycle almost everything was “Dragons!” and a lot of it was very lackluster.

While I understand the fear of over saturation, I still think Paizo has the talent and ideas to really make something wonderful focused very much on dragons. I will always hold out hope for a medium sized draconic pc race.

Do grippli have automatic climb speed/a heritage that gives them climb speed? any other ancestries have more speeds than just land?

There is a grippli heritage that improves Climb check results from success to critical success, but no Climb speed.

No special movement speeds for any ancestries by default, but there are ancestry feats granting special movement types.

It's weird that you can get a climb speed through a lizard folk heritage (Gecko's Grip) but not as a Grippli.

I imagine we will get one in a future supplement. Probably something akin to Ancestry Guide 2.

Oh! On the heritage bit, is there one that makes a grippli a poison dart frog?

Question, if a monk is going to do the OiP FoB combo, what is the best way to do it?

One Inch Punch followed by Flurry or Flurry followed by OIP?

There are no new weapon types in the whole book. The closest are the stats for soveregin steel armor and sovereign steel weapons (Hardness, HP, BT, Craft requirements).

Drat, no wuxia style polearm swashbuckler....yet

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

What’s the Martial Artist like? I was hoping to get my pdf before tomorrow since we level up.

Porridge, apologies if you get a fair few PMs from me. Tried to send a PM but it gave me an error, so reattempted with similar results.

My rational side is very understanding and knows that it will ship when it does and no matter what I’ll have access to the pdf at the end of the month.

But the excited Pathfinder fan in me won’t stop stalking to see when it ship. :D.

Got the shipment pending notice yesterday, and this page has been updated to say I purchased this yesterday. No PDF yet, but hopefully soon :)

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

That’s what I thought. Maybe later there will be official check/write up. Until then I’ll discuss it with my gm.

Pathfinder Lost Omens, Rulebook Subscriber

Outside of the Monk feat Whirlwind Throw, is there a way for me to throw a grappled opponent as a Barbarian? Thanks for the help!

I think we have a chance of seeing them for the dragons released in B1 and B2, but will probably get a sidebar/section update in a later book. Here is hoping if it’s a later book it’s a book kind of dragon focused to begin with.

Items don't come immediately to mind, so much as the warning that the majority of the monk ki spells have a verbal component and can't be used during rage without Moment of Clarity, since verbal components have the concentrate trait.

Thanks for the reminder! With that in mind, I may use the ki aspects for moments when I’m not raging, but I do intend to take Moment of Clarity, just in case I need to use one of the spells while raging.

Afternoon everyone, I’m building a Barbarian (Animal Instinct, Ape) With the Monk Dedication for Extinction Curse. I could use some advice on item selection for my character. I know that handwraps will be a must and my DM and I are working to make those an option to get them. What other items should I consider/be on the look out for?

I am intending on focusing on Ki feats for the monk aspect so if that might impact item selection.

I just want to see an archetype or two. I’ve been very curious about the changes to some of the classics (Dragon Disciple, Eldritch Archer) and the new ones like Beast Master
