I kind of picture Shelyn in the middle of a 'River Tam in Serinity' style move where she's stepping forward, about to deliver a kick to her brother's face, and complete the spin, pulling the glaive away. I also like the Cayden one.
I had been wondering lately when the art department would finally get some of its well-deserved time in the spotlight. We've been getting so much wonderful art from Paizo, that we're totally and utterly spoiled, while I don't really know who at Paizo deserves (at least part of) the credit for this. And it's not just the art work, but the complete lay-out of the modules and books that is just fantastic. You guys come up with amazing covers for the AP's as well, that mark these products as top of the bill! I'm very excited to see that you'll be getting a monthly blog. And even if you guys don't draw the art yourselves, do know that the extraordinary quality of your work defines Paizo products as the best in the market. So, a big thank you! PS: I would be interested in seeing how you guys put together the cover of a product or even how you integrate art in the text on a page, or the tricks you have to pull to make the text fit a page. Maybe we can see some examples of your technical brilliance in a future post.
Shelyn and ZK and Gozreh are all fantastic. But I have to admit, before I opened that Lamashtu pic, I have never really been able to envision anything even remotely scary about that Goddess. My how times change! Spectacular artwork! Glad I've already decided to set aside money for this one, because missing it would be painful.
That Gozreh image is really awesome. And Lamashtu... About the only demon lord I actually like, and if every I would play an evil character it would be a worshipper of Lamashtu. Andfor some unknown reason I can't explain, and I don't know why I thought this, but I always pictured him more dwarf-ish in appearance. Not exactly a dwarf, but dwarf-like. Don't know why.
Oh wow. :D Really digging all of this. Love that Cayden seems to be settled on the sideburney Gods and Magic look. y do he look like TOZ tho Absolutely adore the Shelyn wrestling the Whisperer of Souls away from her brother. Anyone mouthing off about Shelyn being a "soft" goddess better recognize the badassedness on display there. :) Really cool to have art portraying specific moments in their history. And honestly, it's nice to see the siblings side-by-side for the first time. Now we have some idea of ZK's...well at least his build...when he was Dou-Bral, compared to his sister. Oh man, now I'm really hoping there might be art of Dou-Bral. And yeah, like Apotheosis said, that is the most terrifying portrayal of Lamashtu so far. Damn. I can't help but imagine the forces of Hell standing clear and saying "You know what, take 'em. We'll be off to the side here." Man it is good to see art previews back! :)

I think it's Art/Layout Department Appreciation Time! Did You Know: Were you a fan of RPGs back in the NES/SNES era? You might have seen Senior Art Director Sarah Robinson's work before Pathfinder! Also, so much of that equipment art is very similar in style to the equipment art that would show up in manuals and guides for console RPGs back then. It feels like coming home in a lot of ways. :)

Incredible art. As a huge Shelyn fan (you might even say I worship her... ha ha ha?) the Shelyn/Zon Kuthon piece is my favorite. Lamashtu is truly terrifying, and Gozreh is pretty awesome as well. I don't suppose you guys would be interested in selling prints of these? I would love to have some awesome Pathfinder art on my wall. Mikaze wrote:
Holy crap, no wonder that felt so familiar!

Unfortunately prints just aren't a huge seller for us. However, the individual artists in question may offer prints (I know Wayne Reynolds and a few others do).
I LOVE the Gozreh one. And Lamashtu is very nice too. Also I now know for sure that Cayden Cailean is the god of swashbucklers. This art is amazing and we need MORE. I enjoy reading the books, but I feel that putting the art pieces up on the blog gives them far more justice. We can better appreciate how awesome they are.
Seriously. Awesome. As a GM, I LOVE the fact that you put so much art out on the blog. Nothing makes the experience more real than being able to flash a relevant picture to bring the scene home. Two sessions ago my PCs ran into a Cleric of Lamashtu, and I re-skinned my descriptions of the spells she cast to fit the flavor of The Mother. I wish I had this art when I tried to describe what vision they were given when Cause Fear was cast!

FTFY. Now, I defy anyone to read Mark's post and NOT hear it in Farnsworth's voice.
