How does bonus stacking work in the playtest? Does Inspire Courage stack with Sanctified Ground, for instance?


There are only a few bonus types, and bonuses of the same type don't stack. Since inspire courage and sanctified ground both provide conditional bonuses, they won't stack with each other. :(

A quick shorthand answer to any question regarding the playtest: if it has any kind of synergy or sounds cool, it doesn't work.

My opinion is that the +10/-10 critical system seems to cause a lot of problems, like this.


Elis, Godfrey recovered from his paralysis naturally at the end of his turn, and since your initiative is after his, you don't need to cast remove paralysis. I'll let you change your actions for this round.

So.... hooray for mid-battle cleric nerfs? I mean, we get another cantrip, which isn't the worst, but isn't the greatest either. Ah well, at least they're changing stuff. Not sure how I feel about the changes, but at least they exist.

Not that the cleric wasn't overpowered a bit.

Playtest Character - Playtest Ended

I'm ok. We were packed and ready to go, but we didn't need to evac.

It's kind of spooky, if you look at a map of the fire and find the westernmost point - my house is just a little west of that.

The air quality is still like sitting on the wrong side of a campfire.

But I'm incredibly thankful - three of my coworkers no longer have homes and the town of Paradise (~25k people) no longer exists.

Nibiru, I'm pretty sure you can cast as many spells in a round as you have the actions for, regardless of which components they use.

Physical Shields sure don't block much damage compared to the Shield Spell.


How is everybody feeling about the playtest? Personally, it's a bit fatiguing having to constantly look up all the new rules each time I update the round. Running the game hasn't really been as fun as I had hoped it would be.

Is everybody still interested in continuing?

I mean, I know where I stand on the playtest at this point, and with the polls about to close, there’s no way we’ll get in feedback for much more. I could go either way, but I’m not super excited about the Playtest as it is.


Along with Dαedαlus, I feel that with the closing of the polls, the main purpose of this game has been served.

I'd be happy to focus that energy on other games.

Me either. I know how I feel about PF 2 at this point. Which is a big fat "Meh". I think I'll be sticking to my PF 1 games as long as I can.
