Tessara - Conjurer |
"You do know we lack resources to build a hideout, right? And that we don't have legal rights to that island. And probably lack the rights to build a secret base on it, of all things. Unless buying the map bought me the rights the island as well? Assuming the man who made the map was the first to find it, that is."
Knowledge (Local) to find out if I now own the island, or if we have the right to build on it, or who to go through, or whatever. Even though I'll probably just forge a deed anyway: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Masha. |
Masha is far from excited about all thing her newfound companions are doing. However, she understand those preparatives are important so she does not grumble...too much.

Hal the Sky Stalker |
Hal nods, Of course, I have a tendency to get a little, overexcited, about these things. We definitely have to check out the island first and see what the rules of ownership are around here before we begin making any kind of preparations.
Siri Borealis |
Ownership? It's land, we could just live there...
"Got to agree wiht Eleanis won't learn anything until we get there! I think I've go the course pretty well plotted, shall we take off as soon as everyone returns?" Siri asks the Captain.
Still not totally sure what rolls you need for me to pass/fail my navigator checks.
Freyja* |
Freyja comes back to the ship with a month's supplies to be delivered immediately and a 10 gp savings to boot. She swaggers some with her success and redeposits the 10 gold in the ship bank. Listening to the discussion.
I am so ready to get my feet firmly under a ship and have no desire to simply move to another island. why I would simply stay here if that were my goal. At least here I have an audience for my singing and can cover room and board easily enough. There are hot showers and fine food and drink to he had here. No, I've no desire to move to another island. Its life in the wind that calls to me.
Oz Folklore |
Pro(Sailor)
As The last person boards the ship And Freyja Says "Its life in the wind that calls to me." The Ships flaps With hard beats of its wings soaring off into the air at a very brisk speed.
Hal the Sky Stalker |
Hal grins exuberantly at the speed of the ship. He then turns to Freyja to address her concerns, Freyja, our, or at least my, intention was not to live upon the island, but merely to have a place which we could call her own, and where we could store supplies without having to burden the ship.
With that said, if I am the only one who feels this way, I am happy to listen to other ideas.
Oz Folklore |
You have no idea who owns most islands you have not been to which will be most islands you explore.Unless it is a town.
Oz Folklore |
Knowledge will let you know if it is a main city or even a know city. And if you were to find books on a certain island then yes.
Teleron Haloron |
"A place to return to once and a while to make repairs to equipment get well rested and resupply sounds good to me personally, however I know i will not find the answers I am looking for sitting in a port so i would not want to stay idle long. However i feel that perhaps we sound ask one of the most important opinions.Rose. We could always ask her how she feels. If she would rather stay flying or have a place she can rest for a time she is the one carrying literally all of our weights along with anything we bring aboard."
Teleron voices as he finishes assisting the loading of the newly acquired gear.
Arioch the swift |
When the group which went shopping arrived back on the ship, Arioch went to Tessara, "Here you go, had to look for a while, but I found all the topics you wanted."
He then helped putting the supplies in their respective places and went top side when Rose took off to see the magnificence of this ship in motion.
Arioch the swift |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
"The open skies? So basically anything." Arioch said with a smile.
Freyja* |
If it still daylight Freyja finds Hal and relieves him.
We will need someone on watch the entire voyage. She notes. Who among the crew is most perceptive?
Arioch the swift |
Thank you for being so perceptive about our perception scores ;)
"During my upbringing I was a Dayguard amongst my people. So I'm quite used to the job and, if I say so myself, I'm quite good at it."
Oz Folklore |
Night fall the rose is flying close to the clouds the moon is bright and it isnt that windy out. A bank of fog billows out from behind clouds in front of the rose.
Arioch the swift |
Am I right to think that billowing fog banks aren't a natural occuring phenomenon at this altitude? Will change my reaction slightly :-)
Arioch the swift |
Arioch had been on deck, checking the sky for any abnormalities. He spotted the strange fog bank and swiftly strode over to the captain's side.
"I think we have trouble incoming. Shall I go warn those that are below decks?"
Freyja* |
Freyja dutifully changes comment with Hal at dusk, formally transferring the pendants and saluting the new captain. She then spends time on the deck watching the stars come out from this unique vantage spot. She too grows concerned by the strange fog bank billowing out in front of them. I recommend we steer clear of that. says to anyone in earshot.
Oz Folklore |
The rose makes a sharp turn to try to avoid the fog bank which you can tell now is moving like a rolling ball of smoke and it is Swimming through there air bearing down on the rose. The swishes of the roses wings cut through the for reveling glimpses of black.
Anyone On top deck I want some perception checks
Arioch the swift |
Arioch rushed downstairs and knocked on everyone's door saying "There's some strange fogbank up ahead. Seems out of place. Might be trouble, so be prepared."
Having warned everyone, he made his way back to the upper deck to check on the current situation.
If he's back topside on time: Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Freyja* |
We already need the alarm bell system I asked Shien about. I'll remind him after this little event plays out. Freyja thinks to herself as she peers into the fog bank and readies her bow. At the glimpse of black Freyja begins to sing in a loud clear voice a challenging sea song of a bygone era. Those in her party that hear it are bolstered. This is a standard birdsong, inspiring courage, which grants a +1 Morale bonus to saves against fear and charm effects and a +1 to hit and damage competence bonus on attacks and weapon damage.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Oz Folklore |
Freyja* |
is the black shape moving with the cloud or emerging from it?
Looking for a target the bard stops singing but her inspiration lingers and she casts a set of lights 140 feet from the Rose in the direction of what she sees in the fog. There! she points.
Eleanis Riasky |
Elanis yelps as Rose swings and then she hears the warning shouts and Freyja's challenge. Stumbling a bit she makes her way to the armory to retrieve and struggle into her armour and retrieve her glaive and then she makes her way up the stairs and peers over the deck.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
She tries to identify the creature Freyja points out using her religious studies as a guide.
Know Religion: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Oz Folklore |
No you caught a glimpse of it it is staying with the fog but the whole of the cloud is moving toward the rose.
The lights caught in to fog are coved by the fog.
Shien |
Incoming ship! Does not look friendly!
Shien calls out to everyone above deck as he casts a spell.
i am of course making wild assumptions, but it seems to be a safish one. also i cast aspect of the falcon, +2 perception and my bow crits on 19-20
Freyja* |
Before their ship is cloaked in fog she quickly casts a message spell to include Hal, Shien Arioch and Elanis. Even if we are separated we can communicate. she whispers.
Freyja can only target 4 others so she got those she knows were on deck. Can you give us a distance from us to the fog? And how far into the fog did we see the dark shape?
Masha. |
Arioch rushed downstairs and knocked on everyone's door saying "There's some strange fogbank up ahead. Seems out of place. Might be trouble, so be prepared."
Masha smiles with the news. She take her sword, her naginata, the bow all without forgetting to put her hat, of coruse.
She get to the deck just to hear Shien warning everyone about an incoming ship. Great!...
Arioch the swift |
Arioch spread his wings, shouldered his Lucerne Hammer and readied for whatever would come from the mist.
