About Freyja*Background:
Born to Brina Gunnrdottter, a warrior poet of the Unfin tradition, Freyja Brinadotter traveled the Northlands in her youth accompanying her mother who served an Ulfin king as messenger and herald. Her mother traveled from hamlet to berg carrying news, often in the form of song or stories spun to entertain. Mother and daughter shared much in their journeys together but every time Freyja asked about her father her mother only would say he was a dashingly handsome man noble birth and of the South. Then she would tease her saying “Southern men lacked the constitution to live and travel in the lands of the north and so she had no choice but to leave him”. And that was all Freyja could pry from her mother until she came of age and demanded more. Loving her homeland Freyja grew up with a fierce loyalty to the north and a hatred anything that threatens her way of life. It has always seemed natural for her to weave song and spell together with sword and shield and it all blended into her own style of fighting. She was equally at home entertaining a family in a lonely cabin in exchange for her dinner or entertaining a king in exchange for a purse of gold. She is quick to defend a friend but not too quick to violence. When Freyja came of age she chose to go questing like some many youth of her culture. Unlike many she also joined the Pathfinder Society. She already had arms and armor and could cast a good handful of spells. And people liked her so she was sure she could make her own way. But the question remained of what quest was worthy of her. And of course the answer was easy; she would seek her farther. Her mother took the news in stride and provided the information she sought. Her father was one Stason VanDorning, a adventurer and landowner whose family could count their generations farther back than most of the aristocrats of Oppara. She told Freyja of how he could sing and dance and that he was an actor of the stage there and of how she was swept of her feet by the charismatic man. What she did not tell her daughter was that Stason’s family was more than human – that their good looks and other talents were at least in part a gift of their Aasimar heritage. So, Freyja departed the north for warmer climes in search of her father. She had the knowledge of his name and city of his family and a locket with his mother’s picture. What she did not have was the knowledge of her birthright. She too was Aasimar but at least party as an accident of birth could pass as human and neither she nor her mother had fully realized the truth. Freyja knew she had excellent night vision but discounted it to many nights in the wilds. And she was slower to feel the bite of winter but many of her northern brethren were use to the cold of the north. So what if she was more resistant than most. She actually had no idea that she also had resistance to Acid and Lightning as these things were not common in her world. Having failed to find her father in the capital city of Oppara, after many excellent adventures Frejya followed clues that eventually led her to the small village of Falcon's Hollow where her father was said to visit from time to time to negotiate lumber deals for the family. It is here that further adventure finds her that will distract her, at least for a time, in her quest to find her father. Description:
Freyja is a northern beauty with blond locks and sapphire blue eyes. Standing close to 6 feet tall she is strong and well muscled but in such a way to accent her femininity. Her dress is the leathers and furs of her Ulfin mother. She carries both sword and spear and the round heavy target of her people hangs on her back. Her smile can dazzle and her voice is that of a captured songbird. Her heart is pure though and her virtue is intact.
