Rodrigo Dantares |

Wow, rereading that last post Rodrigo sounds like an idiot. (~_~)* Too late to edit. His point is essentially intended to be, we should go after them right now, or we should leave this place right now. Either way we should do something quickly.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Then north!
Tanith heals Farrukh's injuries.
CLW: 6d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5, 7, 2, 4, 8) + 6 = 36
18 charges left on that wand.
"That way", he explains while putting the wand away.

Astraden Limhaare |

Astraden heads up the hall and opens the doors, casting a few spells as she moves. "Tanith, you can fly again."

Dungeon Kobold |

6d8 + 18 ⇒ (5, 4, 7, 7, 8, 8) + 18 = 57
Astraden opens the door.
Two braziers in the northeast and southeast corners are in this rectangular room, but, curiously, neither is lit. A simple altar of stone sits in the middle of the east wall, facing a large set of stone double doors to the west. On the altar is a scroll, which glows with an unnatural green light. A writhing green beam of light emanates out of these scrolls to strike the doors to the west, bathing them in the same green glow.
Astraden instinctively feels a force pressing on her. Farrukh, moving up beside her, can feel it too. It makes him feel slightly off, while Astraden is left outright nauseous. This room is under an effect totally antithetical to life and laughter. The air is dead, almost canned—breathable, but stagnant, as though the same air has been kept within the same chamber for years and years.
The mohrg appears fully mended, its tongue flicking dangerously. The last spawn crouches beside it. Oddly, though before the mohrgs appeared to be directing the spawn, now the former seems to be following the latter's lead. This may have something to do with the third entity: a middle-aged tiefling with a flaccid and misshapen figure. His fiendish ancestry is evident in the unnaturally green, almost fluorescent color of his eyes, his twitching tail, the vestigial horns on his brow, and his hoofed feet.
He cocks his head as if hearing something, craning his neck to see around Carina.
"Hm. Hm." He nods, catching Carina's eye. "Cousin, is that you?"
Inits: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 101d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 91d20 + 4 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 6 = 111d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d20 + 0 ⇒ (15) + 0 = 151d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 41d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 31d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 141d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Init Order:
Tanith/Eben/Farrukh
Mohrg/Spawn (delayed to match mohrg's init for simplicity's sake)
Carina/Astraden/Rodrigo

Round 1: Tanith, Farrukh and Eben are up.

Astraden Limhaare |

Astraden grimaces. "Something's . . . very f#ed-up with this room."

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Taking advantage of Astraden's blessing, Tanith hikes through the air up above the enemies and the rest of the party. High enough to avoid AoOs. Hopefully over the green death ray too.
He rears back with his poleaxe to strike the lumpy tiefling. "She's no cousin of yours ugly. Call off your pets and surrender. Now!"
Readying to smack him if he does things.
Readied Smack (hope, haste, high ground): 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 11 + 2 + 1 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d10 + 10 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 10 + 6 + 2 = 22

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

"I...don't want to go in there."
Farrukh readies a sword slash.
Attack: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

Dungeon Kobold |

Tanith suddenly feels extremely uneasy as he enters the area, his unfailing bravado almost...failing him for a moment. Something in his head keeps screaming at him to get out, get out, it's not safe here, we shouldn't be here. Nonetheless, he forces his way through to hover above the tiefling.
Tanith opens his mouth and speaks. No sound comes out.
The tiefling's head tilts to the other side as he looks up at Tanith. He smiles slightly, despite his clear surprise at the burly warpriest's speed.
Round 1: Eben is up.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

"... .... .... .. .......", Tanith curses.

Dungeon Kobold |

What's that, Tanith? Timmy's in a well? Well, so are we all, in a manner of speaking. If you think about it, sewers are just really complicated wells.

Dungeon Kobold |

Sorry, revision. Working out complicated sphere stuff which the map abstraction renders somewhat abstract.
Namely, the fact that he can't move. Not forward, anyways. At about a ten-foot mark from his target, any attempt to step forward encounters some sort of barrier he can't bring himself to move into. His bardiche passes through fine, but he's just barely too far to reach the tiefling.
Apologies. Tanith being ten feet up and this diagonal threw me for a moment. He can stand in that square, but he's aware that there is some sort of barrier keeping him from reaching the good tiefling.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Bah. In that case Tanith will still utter his unheard threat and then smite the spawn underneath him for +4 more damage.

Dungeon Kobold |

Tanith barely manages to land a blow on the undead, which seems curiously nimble all of a sudden.
Farrukh feels a slight sense of unease upon entering.

Tempted to NPC Eben if he hasn't posted in about two hours, just because this combat is going to get slow if we wait more than 24 hours for every action. My current assumption for "WWED?" is begin Dirge of Doom for the move action and and reveal secret doppelganger identity by stabbing Astraden for the standard. Thoughts?

Rodrigo Dantares |

Any chance the Archon's had time to aid everyone before this popped off?
Rodrigo throws another spell of grease out, this time slicking the area under the two undeads' feet.
DC 18 reflex save for them.
His archons focus their fire on the damaged undead Dunno if 25 is the mohrg or spawn.
Attacks: 8d20 ⇒ (14, 19, 1, 16, 6, 1, 14, 3) = 74 17, 22, miss, 19, 9, miss, 17, 7
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 41d6 ⇒ 61d6 ⇒ 51d6 ⇒ 3

Eben MacTeague |

Eben is here! Post in progress.
Eben contemplates stabbing Astraden just for the amusing shock value, but decides to delay revealing his true identity a little longer.
Eben steps forth, loathing for the Kyuss spawn in his eyes, and promises of a blissful afterlife if the thing will only cease to be on his lips.
The arrow that follows is less pleasant in nature, but it still doesn't quite give lie to his Drige of Not-Quite-Doom.
5-foot step, begin DoD as move action, activate Arcane Strike & shoot at the Kyuss spawn through Farrukh's back.
shortbow+good hope+PBS+haste-cover: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 2 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 31
damage+good hope+Arcane Strike+PBS: 1d6 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 11
Good hope lasts 71 rounds, cat's grace lasts 61 rounds.
AC is 24/19/17 while haste & shield of faith are active.

Dungeon Kobold |

You had six rounds. Should be enough to get aid on everyone, assuming Rodrigo thought of it quickly.
It's not your turn yet, though, so those touch attacks will wait a bit. By the way, two of your archons aren't actually in range to fire right now. Light rays can only go up to 30 feet.

Eben MacTeague |

Hey, if it was 6 rounds between the end of the workout room fight & our hitting this room, shouldn't haste be off?

Dungeon Kobold |

Yeah, I think you're right. Which actually means Tanith should have missed the spawn, but we'll let it go this once.
if the thing will only cease to be on his lips.
I read this very wrong at first.
Eben lodges an arrow in the Kyuss spawn's chest. It glares back at the bard, who seems to be saying something very passionately.
Round 1: Spawn/Mohrg
The undead retaliate, rushing forward with vicious, unholy fervor. The spawn is already healing its injuries once more.
Spawn Slam: 1d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 3 = 16
Mohrg Slam/Slam/Slurp: 1d20 + 15 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 15 + 3 = 351d20 + 15 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 15 + 3 = 231d20 + 10 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 3 = 18
Damage: 2d8 + 5 ⇒ (8, 4) + 5 = 17
Grab: 1d20 + 19 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 19 + 3 = 40
If that beats Farrukh's CMD, he is grappled. Also, if that beat shis touch AC, he must make a DC 21 Fortitude save or piss off his player substantially.
Round 1: Rodrigo, Astraden and Carina are up.

Dungeon Kobold |

Oh, it's fine. I had to look it up to be sure—it's not something that sticks in your mind. So, moving the archons up?

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Does my Readied action hit?
Fort: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
Farrukh is Grappled, but less pissed than he could be.
If I whack the grappler with my Bull Rush does that free me?

Dungeon Kobold |

Oh, sorry, I missed that. No, it just misses.
Hm...I'll say yes if you beat their CMD by 5 or more. Otherwise you're taken with them.

Dungeon Kobold |

Though they struggle to shoot past the melee, the archons manage to land one hit on the injured spawn. It wheezes, clearly badly hurt.
Carina and Astraden are up.

Astraden Limhaare |

Astraden sheathes her rapier and flings a little silver dust in a circle around herself, saying, "Branite nas od požara ubija kako!" An aura of violet light, about twenty feet in diameter, flickers to life around her; she steps back as it does so.
Round 1: Sheathe rapier (move action), cast magic circle against law (standard action), and five-foot step (no action). Disguise self lasts 687 rounds, Turn Undead lasts 1 round, air walk lasts 794 rounds, bear's endurance lasts 75 rounds, bull's strength lasts 76 rounds, shield of faith lasts 77 rounds, and magic circle against law lasts 800 rounds.

Dungeon Kobold |

Bear in mind what alignment the archons are.
EDIT: Sorry, just realized I never did follow up on the Grease.
Reflexes: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 241d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
The undead avoid falling with unnatural grace, though they seem somewhat uncomfortable on the slippery surface.

Dungeon Kobold |

The mental protection might have been useful in one adventure. Can't remember which. Blackwall Keep, I think?
Anyhoo, Carina (and sort of Astraden due to spell confusion) remains up. Goodnight.

Astraden Limhaare |

It's my domain slot, so I don't have much choice. I could start casting nondetection on Farrukh if he wants to shell out 50 gold every 8 hours. Otherwise I'm going to stick to something that has a chance of being useful. I didn't know anything about the undead's alignments but the way KC was describing what Tanith and I (chaotic-aligned priests of chaotic gods) felt and what a lawful creature felt gave me the impression that the tiefling had cast something to harm chaotic creatures, so I reasoned that the tiefling himself is lawful. As it is, the mohrg and spawn are not benefiting from the spell, but you are.
Does the spell fail if summoned creatures are in the radius? From my reading they don't even have to move out - they just can't enter it. If Rodrigo does not want them to have to move back I won't cast it.

Carina Viera |

Round 1: Actions
No Action: 5' step forward
Standard Action: Throw Fire Bomb at Spawn
Carina unlimbers another bomb and prepares to throw it. "What the hell are you getting at?! I'm no cousin of yours!"
She takes aim at the wounded spawn and throws!
Ranged Touch Attack (PBS, Precise, Good Hope): 1d20 + 9 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 + 2 = 18
Damage? (Good Hope, PBS): 4d6 + 3 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1, 6, 6, 3) + 3 + 2 + 1 = 22

Dungeon Kobold |

1d8 ⇒ 6
The cover causes Carina's shot to be deflected off of some invisible defenses of the spawn.
Reflex Saves: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d20 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 171d20 ⇒ 3
Nonetheless, the bomb—landing at Farrukh's feat—badly burns all three fighters, and the spawn collapses.
Farrukh takes 10 damage, as do the undead.
Round 1: Tiefling
"Hm. This isn't the sort of reunion we had in mind. Carina, the way we know we are cousins is that we have already been speaking to you rather frequently of late." The tiefling raises a jade unholy symbol towards Tanith. "Or one of you, anyways. She's very talkative."
Tanith feels a horrendous pain within him. Suddenly, worms erupt from his arm, chewing and gnawing from within.
You must make a Fortitude save every round, DC 21.
The tiefling laughs.
Round 2: Farrukh, Tanith and Eben are up.

Eben MacTeague |

Eben sends a couple of arrows at the priest.
shotbow+good hope+PBS-cover: 1d20 + 13 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (3) + 13 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 15
shotbow+good hope+PBS-cover: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 8 + 2 + 1 - 4 = 16
Unfortunately, priests are much harder to hit through an ally's back than Kyuss spawn are.
Swift action: Arcane Strike, full attack on priest, continue Dirge of Doom as free action.
Good hope lasts 70 rounds, cat's grace lasts 60 rounds.
AC is 24/19/17 while haste & shield of faith are active.

Dungeon Kobold |

Eben notices that his dirge of doom appears to be having no effect within the area. It also seems, now that he looks, like Tanith is having difficulty speaking in there.
Tanith/Farrukh.

Eben MacTeague |

Eben stops reciting. "That's so rude."

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Fort: 1d20 + 12 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 12 + 2 = 32
Blessed Fortitude has been useful for the first time ever!
Tanith is surprised to see the worms appear on his forearm but ignores them and powers through the pain they bring. The tiefling's spell was a distraction - the kind that wouldn't work on a mighty champion of Kord. Still unable to edge closer to his opponent, the big man shifts his grip and lunges through the invisible barrier with his trusty poleaxe.
Fervor: Divine Favor, action point for lunge, rage, and full attack.
Primary (hope, high ground, rage, divine favor): 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 17
Damage: 1d10 + 10 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 6 + 2 + 3 = 23
Iterative: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 + 2 = 29
Damage: 1d10 + 10 + 6 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 6 + 2 + 3 = 23

Dungeon Kobold |

I don't think you can cast Divine Favor in a silenced area. Fervor only lets you ignore somatic components.

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

".... .... ........ ... .. ......." Tanith roars.
I knew that.

Astraden Limhaare |

"Carina, you got any idea what that spell of his is?" Astraden asks. "I have an entertaining idea, but I need to know if it could work."
Also, Spellcraft on however Zahol made worms come out of Tanith's arm: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Farrukh Al'Khatel |

Farrukh works on the blasted Mohrg.
Slash: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (15) + 14 = 29
Damage: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21
Bash: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 20
Bash Iterative: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17

Dungeon Kobold |

As an action that requires two hands, are you sure you can two-weapon fight in a grapple? Looking it up now.
Astraden, could you clarify what spell you're asking Carina about? The worm one?

Dungeon Kobold |

Farrukh slams brutally into the mohrg, but it holds on steadfastly.
Round 2: Mohrg/Spawn/Badness
The mohrg continues attacking Farrukh, seeking to solidify its grip with its long, clawed tongue.
Grappleslurp: 1d20 + 13 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 13 + 5 = 31
Make a Fortitude save, DC 21, or be paralyzed for 1d4 ⇒ 3 minutes.
1d2 ⇒ 2
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
Round 2: Astraden, Rodrigo and Carina are up!

Tanith 'Kordson' Creed |

Did the lunge trick work?
Edit: Nevermind, I see the damage on the map. Hurray!
