Would the rest of the party need to save if I activate my nereid fascination ability?
I'm not sure. Any opinions on that? I'd assume not.
The language on nereid fascination is imprecise. Usually an ability specifies if it only affects enemies or allies; in this case it just says 'humanoids within 20 feet'. This would make me feel like the intent was that it zaps friend and foe alike. On the other hand, if your inclination is to not have it act that way, that's perfectly valid too. I'd say a GM would be within their rights to say it affects enemies and allies within 20 feet, but it's a GM call.

The RAW is certainly everyone in range, but I'm not sure of intent. There aren't many, if ANY, abilities of this nature that are indiscriminate in their targeting. Seems odd that this one would be.
I'm wondering--would it work similarly to selective channeling?
Like I'd be able to exclude a number of people equal to my CHA modifier or some such?

Well, I guess I'll just put up a thread on Rules Questions and see if any good answers come before the next time Carina considers using the ability.
They will tell you it affects us, because it does by RAW (except aasimars/tieflings or other non-humanoids). If you want to make a house rule, do it, none of us will complain. :P

Alright, guys. While the next installment is kind of in a half-in, half-out limbo (the chimera and meeting with Eligos are part of P4, while the treaty and whatever else you guys have planned is more the "intermission"), we're pretty much back in the swing of things.

Incidentally, guys, there's a prestige class in a Dragon magazine called the "Worm Hunter". Basically, the Worm Hunter gets some Depravity (the mental variety of Taint), some benefits to counteract it, and immunity to infection at later levels. It might need some boosting to fit Pathfinder, of course. It's not relevant yet—it has a minimum character level of 7, and some of its special requirements aren't currently possible for anyone—but it's something to consider.

Sort of. That's a version I found. It appears to be something of an adaptation to this guy's setting, and it looks like he might've made some changes, so I'm gonna hold out until I get home to check the actual issue.

Incidentally, it's a bit late, but Eligos was also someone you could have asked about the items you found in the Whispering Cairn like the demon horns and the diadem, plus the murals and such. It's not especially relevant to the Adventure Path, and it hasn't really stuck in people's heads, but you can feel free to ask him the next time you see him if you like.

I think part of it's because I'm GMing two different campaigns and I'm starting to come up with ideas for a third one...
I have a PBP buddy who was running threeish campaigns for a group of us, and he got burnt out. Went to play WoW for like a month or two and now he's back, but the momentum is all gone :(
Yeah, momentum is really hard to keep up. I can't wait to be back home so I can function in a less impractical time zone.

Some of the other PbPs I'm in are kinda stop-and-start, but I'm trying my best to keep up with them.

Well, Astraden's actual speech to the council was very nicely done. I can only assume that the +0 skill check was reflected in the fact that she was scratching herself all throughout, and at one point must have taken off her boots to bite her toenails and spit them at councilors.
Or a facial expression of unrepentant disgust and hatred. :P
