12:24 Wednesday

She looks very surprised that you healed her, and the gash in her belly is completely gone. "Praise be to Mammon, you healed me." She sort of sputters and looks at the other dead tiefling and cries a bit.

When she regains some composure she says, "I don't know too much, as we were in it for the gold. Palaveen is the great-grandson of Mammon, and he told us that we would be immune to the night beasts. He gave us lots of gold, not sure from where it came from, but who cares. I don't know why we're immune to the beasts, but none of us ever saw one the whole time. Maybe it's just lies to scare people. I don't know, but Palaveen was right, we were immune. Now let me go, I've told you everything."

Since I rolled Bluff: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5, I will just say everyone thinks she knows more. So, I will go ahead and assume you press her for more information.

"Okay, okay. Yes, there are two mummies assisting Palaveen under the temple. No, I don't know why there are mummies here, but Palaveen is related to Mammon, like I said. You can get there through a tunnel under the stairs. Now let me go, I've told you everything."

Okay, it's now 12:30 Wednesday after this interrogation. What do you do? I'd prefer you to stay near the woodcarver's house until we have a #4 player.

HAHAHA. EXTRA CREDIT! You read my mind...I was thinking "they're out of rope". Thank you for being specific, I appreciate it very much.

The ground floor has two large wooden tables and two chairs. A hole in the floor is covered with boards that have been pulled from the wall; the hole opens into a narrow flight of stairs that leads down. Upstairs is a chair, a table, and a bed with a headboard carved with a spring scene (perhaps a wedding gift).

While searching for treasure, you can pull studded leather armor off each (the female tiefling will be naked without it, not sure if you care) as well as a short sword. They also each have a wooden coin on them.

Moshley speaks up and says, "Guys, we weren't wearing our costumes. She's seen our faces. What do we do now? She will surely report who we were when she wakes up."

As a reminder, loot found is weightless and easy to carry unless it is stupidly huge for simplicity purposes.

Unless someone can point to me where they said they put on their disguise/costumes/hooded cloaks before entering the woodcarvers shop (I might have missed it, been a long holiday weekend), Moshley has an extremely good point. It would be REALLY bad if people, found out who you were. Furthermore, even if that weren't the case, the fame would go directly to you rather than to your organization, the (k)Nights Bane. This will thus reduce your fame points. What do fame points do? Hmmm.

Moshley says, "Yes, Jimmy, you did! You did it again! I can't take it anymore." Moshley hits you as he runs down the stairs and slips on the blood. The poor gnome does a 180-degree flip in the air like a cartoon character slipping on a banana peel, and lands right on his head, breaking his neck instantly and killing Moshley. It's as if the karma of slicing the head off of one person moved to the gnome. Moshley's armor is now soaked in tiefling blood and worthless (no loot stripping of Moshley unfortunately as that would be double-dipping), but somehow his potions didn't break.

Now what do you do?

M Human - Loon 14 AC: 13 (11 FF) CMD (20/18) CMB +5 Fort +8; Ref +10; Will +14

Tristain tries to stop Jimmy - but is too late...his shoulders sagging as the weight of another murder gets put around his neck.

Don't worry...this is on the Tristssassin, not you.
Right.
Besides, she deserved it.
Right.
You're a mask now. This ain't the real you...besides, it's for the greater good.

"Yeah, Jimmy, you done did that."

Tristain takes a deep breath and lets go of the regret. He seems completely nonplussed by Moshley's strange death, stopping only to take Moshley's potions.

Tristain will place the acquired loots (studded armors/short swords) in a corner for later. Tristain looks down the hole.

Does someone have a lightsource besides Tristain's candle?

@ Domino - What is known is that Mammon is the arch-devil in the third layer/realm of Hell, known as Erebus. His "body", as it were, is actually all the things of value. While gold is certainly there, value is of course knowledge and anything of "value" to those in Hell. Mammon is also the Treasurer of Hell, appointed by Asmodeus himself. The symbol on the coin is a symbol used to depict Mammon if he were a physical being. As per the campaign info tab: "Worship of other devils is fairly unheard of, but some whisper that when devils compete for power in hell, it can surface in the mortal world."

@ Ezren - if you go back to the Shrine of Aroden, it will take at least 2.5 hours. But remember the city is in the process of entering chaos mode and plenty of tieflings, some of them innocent ones (somewhere I'm sure there are a few innocent ones) will die if you delay. You'll have to think about the bodies that you saw piling up under the rundottari's complex as you leave. Er, scratch that, you definitely don't want to think about that. Plus, who knows what the Bastards of Erebus will do tonight now that two of them died? As a reminder, this isn't Diablo where the NPCs sit and wait for you guys to come and get them. So, there are consequences to leaving. I just want to be abundantly clear on that point.

You guys can roleplay a bit more, in the morning tomorrow (my time) I will get the ball rolling with new maps or roleplay if you guys go back to the shrine. Either is fine with me.

13:05 Wednesday -- City entering chaos mode

Gorvio and Amaya say they will guard the woodcarver's house and watch over Moshley's body. Gorvio is most upset that Moshley slipped and fell.

Amaya says, "I disagree with Tavari. The more time you spend looking around, the less time we'll have to get back. Let's just end this as fast as possible."

What do you do? Tavari is the bookworm always looking for more information. Mathalin is the tactical person, and she's not with you. Gorvio is grief stricken that the sorcerer who was going to teach him to harness the powers of Hell has died, and Amaya would like to sing a song for Moshley but doesn't want to make too much noise. You guys can have her sing at the funeral later if you wish.

Tristain nods, acceding to Tarvi's point and Domino's memory. He boards back up the hole, including trying to make it harder to unboard from the bottom. He will place any furniture or dead weight on it.

Tristain will then check his disguise and follow Jimmy to the tailor's shack.

13:10 Wednesday

Gorvio stays behind with Moshley and closes the door to the woodcarver's shop. The group sneaks around a bit without their (k)Night's Bane uniform on and reaches the front of the tailor's shop. The sign above the door of this shop depicts a shirt and a spool of thread. Curtains hang in the upstairs windows. You can hear voices inside, but the walls block any ability to really hear exactly what they are saying. But occasionally the voices get loud, as if they are arguing.

Domino:

You hear the voices suddenly stop and tables and chairs being pushed away. The sounds appear to be coming from upstairs and sounds like they are coming downstairs.

What does everyone do?

Domino will stand just to the side of the door, sword pointed at the ground as he waves everyone to take a step back and points at Tristain's bow while nodding.

Tristain doesn't quite get what Domino is indicating...Tristain already knows it's a nice bow.

Tristain gets to a shooting position and waits for further instructions.

Moshley is dead.
Shuttup. We have a job to do.
Would that be get more of your friends killed?
Uhm...not sure I have any friends.
