| Jimmy Bodrick |
When Moshley falls off the stairs and dies Jimmy cries out for his brother. "Mushy, no!"
Jimmy runs over to Moshley's limp body and starts crying, holding his brother in his arms. When he lets go of Moshley, Jimmy screams and kicks one of the room's chairs. He clasps his head between his hands and a tirade of words follows.
The others leave the building and Jimmy follows, keeping his mouth shut despite wanting the scream. They arrive at the tailors, and Jimmy draws his sword. His eyes are focused on the door, his jaws are clenched, and his breathing is heavy.
Map unchanged.

Whispering Keep calm everyone, lets give them a chance to be nice and sociable first. Tristain, keep your bow ready but lowered...lets see what we can get by asking nicely... with a quick glance at Jimmy besides we can always kill them if they aren't nice.
Domino is ready to greet the inhabitants of this building calmly and with no immediate intent of harm towards them.

Domino, please make me a perception check, DC15. Jimmy can do it too, but at DC 18. Everyone else DC20. This is because you are further away from the door.
You hear a door opening, but not the front door.

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
The silence from inside is deafening
Domino taps again, using the pommel of his sword...if he doesn't get an immediate response [shouting]You know, it's not very polite to leave nice people on the doorstep ignored like this![/shouting] he pauses a moment. [still speaking loudly as to a crowd]Ok, folks. I guess these nice citizens don't want our help...guess we will just have to go back to Palaveen and tell him these folks don't need his help any more, that they aren't afraid of the night beasts. Come on, lets go back. [/still speaking loudly as to a crowd]
Bluff 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
[whispering]Ok, so lets do this the not so nice way.[whispering]
Domino will try to open the door, if he meets resistance he will put his shoulder into it, bringing his sword to the ready.

Since you enter with your sword drawn ready, two tieflings in wait assume you are hostile.
The door opens as it was unlocked.
As you enter, not only do you see two tieflings on the other side of the room, but a puff of dust from the ground to your right as a hatch in the floor closes.

Sense Motive with +5 bonus since group is attacking: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 + 5 = 29
Tristain shoots one and hits, putting a hole in the tiefling's chest, but the tiefling remains conscience. The other one says, "Biz yalanlarını inanmıyorum."
"I don't believe your lies." One heck of a sense motive roll he made. Also, I'm using Turkish language via google translate.
Jimmy comes in but fails to connect.

Jimmy's bastard sword plunges into the tiefling's body, killing him. The other tiefling attacks Ezren with his light mace, but to no avail. Although he missed, he says, "Palaveen hepinizi öldürecek."

That hits and kills him.
Now what? Please no actions that would require a lot of time at this point. Thanks.

Jimmy tries to open the hatch. If necessary he pull take his crowbar and force the hatch open, first casting guidance on himself.
Taking 10, for a total of 15 on Strength.

13:13 Wednesday
In order to do what Jimmy does, I will re-arrange people on the map.
The room suddenly gets brighter. Where Jimmy stands is a hatch that he opens without any problem, and below it are stairs that run about 20' down, 5' wide. It's somewhat dark, but you can make out a partially open door at the bottom of the stairs.
What do you do?
| Jimmy Bodrick |
Jimmy puts away his crowbar and grasps his sword again. He descends the stairs with as much stealth as he can, but not before casting guidance on himself.
Stealth: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (14) - 2 = 12
Damage: 1d10 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
| Tristain the Chalker |
Tristain balks at the idea of following whatever fled.
"Seems like they've got a good head start on us...if we chase, we'll just be wandering into a trap. If we stay here, we'll have the advantage if they come to investigate. Or we can use this opportunity to explore a few more shops."
Tristain looks around the shop for loot, clues, info and anything of interest.
Domino - HoW
|
Actually, I'm with Jimmy on this one. These are more of Palveen's folks. If some have fled to warn him of our advance and we may be able to stop them we should. Besides Tristain, I expect we will only find more of the same from the woodcarvers. Set some to watch this exit, daylight is being wasted...
| Tristain the Chalker |
Tristain looks at the notTarvi, Domino.
"You think we'll be able to catch whatever fled now? Our cover is blown, no going back from that. We can either pursue or hope to take a few more of their number in the other shops...but we won't be catching that one in the dark, especially not with its head start and that it knows the way."
Tristain waits for Ezren or Jimmy to opine...while doing so, he looks outside to see about how much more daylight they have left.
"Remember, we need at least 2.5 hours to get back...and we'll have to drag Moshley too."
Ezren/Jimmy, plan something and let's do it.
Council Chairman

13:14 Wednesday
So, we have both Jimmy and Ezren going down the stairs, while Domino and Tristain argue upstairs (ground floor). I'll give you a few more seconds to figure out what you want to do.
Council Chairman
|
13:15 Wednesday
You come down about 20' of stairs that would normally have dim light.
NEW MAP - green triangles are dancing lights.
What you see is a left/right intersection. From the East (your left) you hear what sounds like scraping, and the sound of running away is coming from the West (your right).
What do you do?
Domino - HoW
|
| Jimmy Bodrick |
Jimmy's quiet for a second, then nods his head. "Jimmy thinks there's maybe a secret passage into the temple."
Voice: Yes, that's what we think.
Keeping his sword ready, Jimmy continues to the right. (Keeping my readied action from earlier.)
Council Chairman
|
The sounds of running grow fainter down to the South West.
| Jimmy Bodrick |
Jimmy casts light on his buckler, then moves into the direction Domino indicates. "Jimmy thinks you need lights too. Are you following Jimmy? Jimmy doesn't want to go too far from others, but thinks we should start running."
Council Chairman
|
13:16 Wednesday
Jimmy looks down an empty hallway to the South. There appears to be an opening about 15' to your right (West). Jimmy can no longer hear anything from the hallway.
| Tristain the Chalker |
Domino - HoW
|
Domino will check the opening to the right, listening at the door before trying it.
Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Anyone with survival? Think maybe this is the woodcarver entrance we found?
If he finds a set of stairs leading up to a closed trap door with no sound, then the above OOC will be Domino's assumption. If so he will continue the DL ahead down the current passage.
Council Chairman
|
When you open the door Domino, you see a set of very steep stairs leading upwards (not quite a ladder, but close enough). Because of the steep angle of these stairs, it doesn't appear to be the same set of stairs from the Woodcarver's Shop. At the top of the stairs appears to be some boards blocking the way.
| Tristain the Chalker |
Tristain, as if hearing some voice in his head, checks the grounds for recent tracks and tries to place where they are in relation to the above.
1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 6 + 1 = 21 Survival (track)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14 Perception
"Where to next? We should probably go up in case we need to get out of here quickly."
Domino - HoW
|
This is likely another of those shops above. I don't like leaving enemies behind us, but i think continuing on in haste is more to our advantage now...unless you think our quarry has passed this way above?
Domino thinks a moment...Can anyone jam this doorway closed so no one can come behind us? Quickly? If so, lets do...otherwise continue on as they are escaping!
| Jimmy Bodrick |
Jimmy takes a look at the boards blocking the party's way. "Jimmy thinks the hatch is already jammed. Jimmy doesn't think the door has to be too."
He continues down the cavern, still keeping his bastard sword readied.
