Baal-Hostem
|
Note: Parried the only hit (my 27 beat his 25) so I took no damage :D (horray swashbuckler dip/combat reflexes!)
Baal grins as he brushes aside one attack and the other misses and decides to focus on the one who he hasn't hit yet, "I warned you, you screwed up."
Full round action: Spell Combat with Spell Strike targeted at Blue. If the main attack (with spell strike knocks him unconscious, Baal will target his normal attack on purple.) I need a 17 for conectration check to cast another 1st level spell (Emp Shocking Grasp)
Concentration Check!: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Made it!
Spell Strike attack!: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 13 - 2 = 22
Strike + Spell!: 1d8 + 8 + 5d6 ⇒ (6) + 8 + (1, 5, 2, 4, 3) = 29 36 total damage
Normal Attack!: 1d20 + 13 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 13 - 2 = 21
Strike!: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
IF Baal knocks blue unconsious he'll parry purple's attack otherwise he'll take it.
Parry!: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
| GMTrex |
Forgot about your parry, thanks for reminding me. HP adjusted below.
Baal kills one of the Pure Legionnaires--the rightful law enforcement of Rahadoum--with two quick blows from his Slayer of LawChaos.
Round II - bold may act!
1. Fenrik
2. Legionnaires (Purple @ 39dmg)
3. Nokazi (bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
Tarri Millfurrough
|
After hearing the shouting and fighting, Tarri hops on Hugo and begins to ride inside after her companions.
Hugo has 45 move speed, not sure how many moves it will take.
Fenrik Wolfblade
|
"Hey Nozaki if none can speak about what we look like then we are good to go..."...Fenrik moves to the side of the curtains and sees if he can hear how many possible future bleeding targets are behind it... Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Kargen Hapspring
|
Kargen looks as Baal kills one of the Legion. "Dammit. Well, I never wanted to come back here anyway." He flips the spare towel open and catches his dagger. He takes a deep breath and casts a protection spell.
Draw dagger, Cast Shield of Faith. Maybe the Legion doesn't have line of sight?
Oriandor Coronalis
|
Oriandor sighs, then raises an eyebrow to Baal's powerful attack. "Yeah, think I may gloss over this part later...", the tiefling already trying to figure out how to gloss over this part in his report. He moves over to Fenrik, to survey the situation from that end as well.
Percep: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
| GMTrex |
Fenrik and Oriandor hear the sound of one lone Legionnaire from beyond the curtain. He's headed your way!
Tarri comes a-running while Nokazi puts his hands up and Kargen casts some divine magic. For better or worse, neither gets noticed.
Round II - bold may act!
1. Fenrik (standard action remaining)
2. Legionnaires (Purple @ 39dmg)
3. Nokazi (can act if desired, bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
5. Tarri (upstairs)
Fenrik Wolfblade
|
Fenrik will have a readied action to attack a Legionnaire if that is what walks through the curtains.
| GMTrex |
@ Fenrik: you can go ahead and roll your readied action and put it in a spoiler.
Round II - bold may act!
1. Fenrik (readied action)
2. Legionnaires (Purple @ 39dmg)
3. Nokazi (bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
5. Tarri (upstairs)
Tarquin-RK
|
Tarquin moves in and calls out to Baal. "Move over boy, I'll take that one!"
Not sure I can get this call out in time for Baal to 5 ft step so I can still attack and avoid a hard corner
Tarquin moves in and bites the poor man that is still there.
bite: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Nm missing anyway. Maybe next round if he isn't dead by then :P.
| GMTrex |
A legionnaire does indeed emerge from the curtains on the right side of the room (revealing another set of curtains beyond). "Out of my way!" he shouts at Oriandor, and Fenrik, prompting Fenrik to attack him, which in turn causes the legionnaire to attack Fenrik.
Fenrik Readied: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 HIT Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
"H-What?! You'll pay for that! You're under arrest!"
Scimitar @ Fenrik: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 2 = 13 critical miss, again
On the other side of the room, the grievously wounded Captain is surprised by the sudden appearance of Tarquin from around the corner. "Resisting arrest! Aiding a criminal! You're all under arrest!" Despite his wounds, he believes in what he's fighting for and strikes again at Baal.
Scimitar @ Baal: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 10 + 2 = 25 PARRIED
The legionnaire strikes a solid blow, but Baal lazily knocks it aside. Seeing that the situation is getting desperate, he moves to block the staircase. This provokes an AoO from Tarquin at the -4 penalty.
Round III - bold may act!
1. Fenrik
2. Legionnaires (Purple @ 39dmg. Red @ 10dmg)
3. Nokazi (bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
Fenrik Wolfblade
|
Fenrik studies the Legionnaire as a move action and swings his blade at the Legionnaire...ATK: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 11 + 2 = 16...DMG: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10
Baal-Hostem
|
"If that guy's still alive, stabilize him!" Baal says as he chases after the Legionaire headed towards the stairs.
Attack!: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Damage!: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
| GMTrex |
Baal rushes forward again with his weapon, the blade just barely penetrating the Legionnaires defenses. He joins his erstwhile companion in bleeding all over the floor. On the other side of the room, Fenrik doesn't have as much luck.
Round III - bold may act!
1. Fenrik
2. Legionnaires (Red @ 10dmg)
3. Nokazi (bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
Tarquin-RK
|
"You cut him down, you stabilize him." Tarquin says and moves to join the other fight.
Kargen Hapspring
|
Kargen sighs and moves to the fallen Legionnaires. "We'll be wanted, but at least not for murder." He kneels down to bind the bleeding wounds to keep the man from dying.
First aid on the first fallen Legionnaire.
Heal, take 10: 10 + 6 = 16
Oriandor Coronalis
|
"That guy may have something to see about it.", pointing to the man, cut asunder and electrocuted by Baal.
Question: Can you aid another while unarmed without provoking? Presuming no, but gotta ask, first.
EDIT: Nvm, if I'm going to (probably) provoke, I might as well earn it.
"Hold this for me, won't you?", asks Oriandor before taking his towel and tossing it over the enforcer's head.
Going to provoke, but why not.
Swift action to use an arcane pool point for a +4 Insight bonus to my attack roll
Dirty trick (wet, soggy blinding): 1d20 + 4 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 + 2 + 4 = 23
| GMTrex |
The legionnaire by Kargen is inches from death, but Old Deadeye's faithful stops him from crossing the threshold.
At the other end of the pool, his partner swipes at a nude tiefling right before a wet towel smacks him in the face.
Scimitar AoO @ Oriandor: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11 critical miss LOL that's four in seven rolls
I'll assume Nokazi will continue surrendering until otherwise noted.
The last enforcer didn't see his captain fall, so he takes a blind swing at Fenrik. The wild blade nicks the man in the shoulder and opens a bright red gash.
Scimitar @ Fenrik: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 2 = 27 THREAT Confirm: 1d20 + 10 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 10 + 2 = 14 nope Miss Chance, Higher is Hit: 1d100 ⇒ 68 HIT Damage: 1d6 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 2 = 7
Meanwhile, Tarri and Hugo scramble down the stairs, landing atop the most recent body and face to face with Baal.
Round IV - bold may act!
1. Fenrik (45/52hp)
2. Legionnaires (Red @ 10dmg, blind)
3. Nokazi (bow/arrows only), Baal (38/46hp), Kargen (dagger/wits only), Oriandor (weaponless), Tarquin (bombs/extracts/stuff only)
4. Kline
5. Tarri
Baal-Hostem
|
Baal draws a scroll from his backpack and casts it on the guard he just knocked down.
Move Action: Draw scroll of infernal healing. Standard Action: Cast said scroll. No checks because he can cast it normally. Should also stabilize the guard.
And it's hysterical to cast infernal healing on Paladins and the Godless.
Note: Baal's plan, knock unconscious, stabilize, then bring up to low HP, apologize for the misunderstanding, "encourage" the guards *cough*BRIBE!*cough* and send them on their way encouraging them to ignore us from now on. He'll communicate the first part of the plan now.
"Only knock the guard unconsious, we don't want to kill them. I have a plan for dealing with this!" Baal shouts out to his companions.
Tarquin-RK
|
"Fine." Tarquin says and beats and claws at the guard while trying to pull his punches.
bite: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 - 4 = 251d8 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 15 + (2) = 23
bite confirm: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (17) + 9 - 4 = 221d8 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (7) + 15 + (3) = 25
claw: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (1) + 9 - 4 = 61d6 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 15 + (2) = 23
claw: 1d20 + 9 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 9 - 4 = 71d6 + 15 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 15 + (6) = 22
-4 for nonlethal attacks
His claws miss, but he manages to give a mighty headbut against the legionaire.
| GMTrex |
@ Fenrik: nope!
Like an angry, winged ram, Tarquin smashes his horns into the enforcer's face and knocks him unconscious. Baal drags the other Legionnaire back from the brink of death.
You have a few rounds to act before he wakes up.
"Aroden's hairy bottom," Kline swears under his breath. He gets up out of the pool and throws on a dry robe. "You could have handled that better! Now you've blown my cover and made us all wanted criminals. Good going, pesh-heads! Come on, there's a secret passage through here. Let's get out of here before reinforcements arrive."
Stepping over the unconscious body of the man by the curtains, Kline leads the group into a sauna, opens a concealed door in the corner, and ushers everyone into Azir's undercity. He shuts the door and heads further down the tunnel before coming to a stop. "So, what is it you wanted to discuss?" he asks gruffly.
If anyone is NOT following him, please let me know.
| GMTrex |
Also, consider this my reminder to you that some of your weapons/gear are in lockers upstairs. o_O
Tarquin-RK
|
I'm fine with leaving my weapons up there for now. Hardly use em anyway :P
Baal-Hostem
|
Baal lets out a cough, "I need someone who talks better than me, but I think we can salvage this. After all, it was just a misunderstanding. "
Somebody with a diplo/bluff better than -2 please help! :D
Kargen Hapspring
|
Kargen laughs. "Somehow, I think the Legion isn't going to take kindly to being shanked, no matter the reason. But let me go retrieve my things. If I don't return in a few minutes, head out without me. Oriander, do you want your things too?"
The Inquisitor dismisses his spell and then climbs the stairs back up to the lockers. He tries to see if anyone has noticed the commotion.
Gotta try...
Tarquin-RK
|
"Pfft they asked for it."

Fenrik Wolfblade
|
"Call out if you all need assistance. Be mindful. We did leave some of them bloodied and bruised and they will have undoubtedly called for back up. Disguise yourselves if you can before you grab your gear. they may be lying in wait."
| GMTrex |
Well, this should be interesting.
Kargen Hapspring
|
"Don't you dare yell at me! The Legion says you and your bosses have been running an underground church here in this bathhouse! I'm simply appalled!"
He looks around before speaking to the attendant again. "They say they're going to arrest anyone who works here. I know it ain't your fault. But if I were you, I'd get out of here while you can and forget about this job."
Bluff: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
| GMTrex |
Kargen, please put that in a spoiler if you can. Same goes for everybody else, use spoilers to reply. Thanks! :)
Oriandor Coronalis

On mobile, getting gear quickly before following. Use stealth and Vanish as necessary.

"Hmph." Kline grunts as Kargen stalks off. "Bloody Pathfinders. So did you come here just to blow my cover? Or are we gonna talk?"
"Seriously, if you all just stand there like a bunch of oafs, I'm going."
Baal-Hostem
|
"Fine, if nobody wants to help me, I'd highly suggest we get out of here sooner rather than later." Baal starts off after Kline
Oriandor Coronalis
|
Are there people in the locker room besides Kargen and I? If there's no one else there, Oriandor will unlock his allies' lockers.
Disable Device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
"Help me carry this out; we don't want to leave any evidence here?"
If there are people there, he'll just get dressed quickly then follow his allies.
Nokazi Stoneclaw
|
"We are looking to find missing Riftwardens led by Jahani Jodinaj. We know you met with her and are concerned for their safety. What happened to the Riftwardens? Where is Jahani now? And why is the Pure Legion looking for you? "
| GMTrex |
After a pause, Kline asks, "What can you tell me about Sasha?"
Tarquin-RK
|
Tarquin holds up a hand. "That can wait don't you think. Now where would we be able to find these Blackfire Adepts? We need the riftwardens alive, and if, like you said, they will be killed in two days, we need to find them now. And why would the Legion be interfering. They are either after you or us. We didn't do anything besides visit Jahani's house. So either they are in league with the Blackfire Adepts or they are after you for some reason. Speak up, we only have a moment before more come." Tarquin says rather impatiently.
Kargen Hapspring
|
"What do you think? We could just get out of here with everyone else and wait for them," he whispers to Oriander.
Perception, take 10: 10 + 10 = 20 Is anyone paying them much attention? Can they get back downstairs without much interference?
| GMTrex |
Kargen Hapspring
|
"Let's get out of here. They can find us later." Kargen heads for the exit to join the rest of the people streaming out of the bathhouse.
Let's hope that was at least a reasonable call.
