A legionnaire does indeed emerge from the curtains on the right side of the room (revealing another set of curtains beyond). "Out of my way!" he shouts at Oriandor, and Fenrik, prompting Fenrik to attack him, which in turn causes the legionnaire to attack Fenrik.

On the other side of the room, the grievously wounded Captain is surprised by the sudden appearance of Tarquin from around the corner. "Resisting arrest! Aiding a criminal! You're all under arrest!" Despite his wounds, he believes in what he's fighting for and strikes again at Baal.

The legionnaire strikes a solid blow, but Baal lazily knocks it aside. Seeing that the situation is getting desperate, he moves to block the staircase. This provokes an AoO from Tarquin at the -4 penalty.

Baal draws a scroll from his backpack and casts it on the guard he just knocked down.

Move Action: Draw scroll of infernal healing. Standard Action: Cast said scroll. No checks because he can cast it normally. Should also stabilize the guard.

And it's hysterical to cast infernal healing on Paladins and the Godless.

Note: Baal's plan, knock unconscious, stabilize, then bring up to low HP, apologize for the misunderstanding, "encourage" the guards *cough*BRIBE!*cough* and send them on their way encouraging them to ignore us from now on. He'll communicate the first part of the plan now.

Like an angry, winged ram, Tarquin smashes his horns into the enforcer's face and knocks him unconscious. Baal drags the other Legionnaire back from the brink of death.

You have a few rounds to act before he wakes up.

"Aroden's hairy bottom," Kline swears under his breath. He gets up out of the pool and throws on a dry robe. "You could have handled that better! Now you've blown my cover and made us all wanted criminals. Good going, pesh-heads! Come on, there's a secret passage through here. Let's get out of here before reinforcements arrive."

Stepping over the unconscious body of the man by the curtains, Kline leads the group into a sauna, opens a concealed door in the corner, and ushers everyone into Azir's undercity. He shuts the door and heads further down the tunnel before coming to a stop. "So, what is it you wanted to discuss?" he asks gruffly.

Well, this should be interesting.

Kargen:
Kargen heads back into the bathhouse, stepping over the slowly-healing body of the Rahadoumi by the stairs. The main floor above is pure pandemonium. Panicked guests and staff run in every direction, carrying half-worn clothes, jewels, towels, exercise equipment, and other random items. A nearby attendant sees Kargen emerge from the stairs and breathlessly asks, "What's going on down there? We heard screams! And the Legion is down there! We've called for help but they won't be here for a couple of minutes! WHAT'S HAPPENING?" It occurs to Kargen that he is still also dressed in a towel.

Everybody Else:
"Hmph." Kline grunts as Kargen stalks off. "Bloody Pathfinders. So did you come here just to blow my cover? Or are we gonna talk?"

He looks around before speaking to the attendant again. "They say they're going to arrest anyone who works here. I know it ain't your fault. But if I were you, I'd get out of here while you can and forget about this job."

Oriandor also steps over the body by the stairs, whose wounds are rapidly healing. Oriandor comes to the top of the stairs as Kargen is fishing out his stuff. The tiefling hurries and grabs his own. Nokazi's and Tarquin's lockers are nearby, but it will take more time to get their stuff. What do you do?

Are there people in the locker room besides Kargen and I? If there's no one else there, Oriandor will unlock his allies' lockers.

"We are looking to find missing Riftwardens led by Jahani Jodinaj. We know you met with her and are concerned for their safety. What happened to the Riftwardens? Where is Jahani now? And why is the Pure Legion looking for you? "

Oriandor/Kargen:
They upper floor is complete mayhem, with people running all over the place, but nobody seems to have taken particular interest in the two Pathfinders. They collect their stuff as well as their comrades' gear and... What do you do?

Everybody Else:
Whew. I was worried you all would incur mission failure by just not talking to Kline and letting him leave the city. "I know where the Riftwardens are, but it’s not an answer you’re going to like," Kline says with grimace. "They attempted a raid on a compound full of Blackfire Adepts who were masquerading as slavers, but the plan didn’t work as they had hoped. For all their talent at magic, the Riftwardens aren’t the best at keeping their heads down when planning an attack. The Blackfire Adepts caught wind of their plan and struck first, capturing all four of the Riftwardens perhaps a week ago. From what I’ve been able to gather, the Blackfire Adepts are planning on moving to greener pastures--which could mean practically anywhere other than Rahadoum--and they’ve been making the most of their remaining time in Azir by interrogating their captives rather ruthlessly. It seems the Blackfire Adepts just can’t pass up a good opportunity to gloat over their arch-nemeses, but they’re sure to tire of it soon and just execute the lot of them. Last I heard, the slavers are departing on a caravan the morning after tomorrow, and you can bet that the Riftwardens will be dead before then."

After a pause, Kline asks, "What can you tell me about Sasha?"

Tarquin holds up a hand. "That can wait don't you think. Now where would we be able to find these Blackfire Adepts? We need the riftwardens alive, and if, like you said, they will be killed in two days, we need to find them now. And why would the Legion be interfering. They are either after you or us. We didn't do anything besides visit Jahani's house. So either they are in league with the Blackfire Adepts or they are after you for some reason. Speak up, we only have a moment before more come." Tarquin says rather impatiently.

Kargen/Oriandor:
No one upstairs is paying much attention in the chaos. However, it occurs to both adventurers that a) their arms are now full of weapons and gear and b) the man on they passed on the stairs may wake up soon.

Everyone Else:
You're safe behind the closed secret door, talking freely in the quiet of Azir's sewer system/undercity. "We're fine here for the moment. I'd like to hear more about Sasha before I answer any more questions." Have any PCs played "Veteran's Vault" or "Fortress of the Nail?"
