Bigguyinblack |

Do we know what tier we want to play? My options are as follows:
Level 5 Slayer Archer who is good at dealing with traps
Level 4 Hunter He rides his mighty ape into combat. Could be tricky on pbp because he is based around opportunity attacks.
Level 2 Lunar Oracle? I'm scheduled to play this character irl in 10 days at which point it will be level 3. I doubt we want to wait that long.
Level 1 formless blob with 1 or 2 XP can be whatever role we need.
Btw in an odd change of pace I have played this in Core but not Classic.

It looks like high tier is likely for this group, so maybe use your slayer or hunter bigguyinblack?

Marduk reminds me of something that amuses me about PFS.
This is from the Seeker of Secrets book.
The Pathfinder Society possesses a fairly loose hierarchy
with few formal distinctions in rank. All Pathfinders
began their journey within the Society in the same
fashion: by presenting themselves at a lodge (often the
Grand Lodge in Absalom) and passing the challenges,
tests, and questions expected of an aspiring applicant.
Those who pass become initiates. These initiates spend
several years in training and service at their lodge under
the able tutelage of taskmasters who fall into one of
three categories: Scrolls, Spells, and Swords. Scrolls train
initiates in knowledge and history, Spells train them in
the theory and lore of spells and enchanted items, and
Swords train them in combat and survival.
All Pathfinder's are effectively college graduates.

Haha true that, Haliban.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Ok, so just one more to check in. I will PM them to make sure they know they are up.
Bo Goh - that's fine, just let me know if your Init or Perception change, since I have macros set up to make those rolls easier for me, and I might forget to check.

![]() |

I didn't have time to update Marduk's sheet today. I'll try to do it tomorrow, though. Sorry about the inconvenience.

![]() |

Looking over my sheet I realize I'm missing a couple of basic items. Before we left I want to buy 2 alchemist fires, a grappling hook, and 20 more cold iron arrows just in case.

GM Fuzzfoot |

I think it is doable. I was planning on wrapping up no later than Aug 25, but this is not a very long scenario, so if posting keeps up, I can see that.

![]() |

Traveling today, so I may post a bit less than usual. Just FYI.

GM: You have it listed as round 2 with Rog, Fade, and Haliban going but Bo and Marduk have not had their second round actions yet.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Thanks - forgot to move the bold markers... fixed now.

![]() |

Not to be that guy, but per the Climb rules:(Link)
A Climb check that fails by 4 or less means that you make no progress, and one that fails by 5 or more means that you fall from whatever height you have already attained.
That would mean that I did not crash, because I didn't even make any upward progress.
The same rules give a knotted rope a DC of 5 meaning my second check would get me onto the boat. No?

GM Fuzzfoot |

No problem - I certainly make plenty of mistakes! But in this case, I don't think so.
Your result was in fact a 0, which means you did miss the check by more than 4. And not that it matters (DC is still 5), but the rope is not knotted.
You are trying to climb from an unsecured boat, and I don't see anything that suggests you were a sailor or even remotely comfortable at see. In fact, given your Dex and Str, it seems reasonable that something like this should provide quite a challenge to your character.
So I think you should still make the Reflex save.

![]() |

I think that this needlessly puts my PC in danger, he could have held onto the rope to keep himself steady but failed to climb, but I'll make the roll to move the scenario along.

![]() |

Just to give everyone a heads up, I'm in another game with PJP, aka GM Fuzzfoot and he stated that he would possible have limited time to post between the 8-20 of this month.

![]() |

Ohh, thanks for the update. That makes sense. I feel we are pretty close to the end , what with the main guy being dead and all.

GM Fuzzfoot |

Yes, I am sorry folks. I really thought to wrap up before I left, and then we suddenly changed plans and left a day early. I am going to be very limited for the next 7 days as well, but let's see if we can bring this home...

![]() |

@Serres "Fade" Vahl I'm curious how you have +19 to Disable Device.
5 ranks, +1 for trait, +3 for trained, +3 for Dex, +2 for MW thieves tools = +14
Is Telekinetic Finesse interpreted to mean you use your attack roll to Disable Device?

![]() |

You have the bonuses correct but add in 5 competence for goggles of minute seeing.
by accepting 1 burn, Fade can gather up to 5000 pounds of water(80 cubic feet of water or approx 600 gallons) from the flooded floor around them (that had one foot deep of water before the door to the undead opened releasing even more water to work with) and then and scoop it onto the fire. The duration of this weight increase is 5 minutes, meaning he can repeat this without needing to spend more burn. I double checked and it's a real possibility, because he "can create a container from entwined stands of aether to carry liquids". If that's too silly, I'll just carry the chest out via TK and we can pick it later. Leaves the others free to put out flames, run for their lives, etc...
Sorry I've had to edit my posts so much today but rushing, at work, and using a phone for posting leaves much to be desired, lol.

I think you may have just inspired me to roll up a telekineticist.

![]() |

Oh that's Fade alright. A downright bard inspiring people everywhere... ;)
It's all the time with his...ugh... friend, Spackle.

A good friend(playing Bo in this game) mentioned something today that I had forgotten about, and that +5 from the goggles should only count up close and not from ranged, as upon further review of the goggles they specifically say "enable her to see much better than normal at distances of 1 foot or less". Fade still gets the bonus when up close of course like anyone would.
So thank you for questioning things Haliban, and thank you to Bo for pointing out the distance limit of the goggles. Using herolab has made me a bit lazy at times because it is so darn easy to keep track of things like modifiers with it. A bit too easy it seems. ;)
As a side note, TKs are a bit strange in that other classes get ranged penalties for disarming devices from farther away(Arcane Trickster, or a rogue with extender tools), but TKs don't suffer any distance penalties. As flavor, I like to think it is because it is more of a natural extension of their own person or something like that. Almost as if they can feel with their aether like a sense of touch.

Thanks for a fun game everyone! I hope you all had a great time too and that Fade's personality was not too hard to deal with. I try to just make him grumble and be sarcastic, but never be really argumentative or in anyway hurtful.
Everyone did some really cool Roleplaying in my opinion and it made for a more interesting game.
I hope your time frees up soon GM Fuzzfoot and you get to run some more games. Drop me a line if ever I could help fill out the roster in another of your games. ;)
Cheers everyone! Job well done.

Yay! Sorry for missing out a bit on this last week.
And thanks a lot for the prestige point, Fade ;)
Thank you GM for a great game, as usual!
