Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel says a quick prayer to Iomedae.
Inheritor, forgive me for my passing of Battlefield Justice upon these fallen, but they have contributed to an act most heinous and allowing them to continue puts the safety of my comrades at peril.
No quarter was asked...an so none shall be given. May these men find redemption in the next life and if I measure their intent wrongly grant them the chance to seek me out for vengeance in the next life.
Daniel ends them with a quick thrust to the lung via a seam in their armor.
May you find righteousness in your next chapter
Hope DM reads this as inline with his code. If not Daniel just became a WARRIOR class until he atones...Daniel will hand any weapons to Andrea and Faelyn for examination and pat them down for potions/wands.
Any obvious enchants on weapons or armor that could help us?

I assume Andrea and Faelyn each detected magic and now are performing their spellcraft.
The two bandits each have magic breastplate +2, longswords +2, ROP +1, they each have a belt on that is magical. One has a belt of Mighty Constitution +2, and the other has a belt of physical might +2 Dex and +2 Constitution. They had a combines 225 GP amongst their gear.
There is going to be some helpful gear for each player, should you live, you can divvy stuff up as you choose but my thinking was the Belt of Mighty Con was for John and the belt of physical Might was Orsin.
The stacks of coin in the room are as follows:
100 PP
875 GP
1240 SP
There are 6 Msw light crossbows and 100 bolts.
Time needs to be spent opening the chests.
The letter states:
"It is incumbent for our success that our enemies meet their fate, extinguish the loyalist leaders of the Council, and send a unit to take care of that meddling Mother of Flies. The swamp hag must meet her end! - Ecarrdian
There is a list of people scribbled in different penmanship on the letter. There is also an ink bottle and quill on the table.
Daniel Arrisen |
Daniel surveys the gear with more than a bit of awe as Andrea and Faelyn identify the equipment.
We must be getting closer. This equipment is far to expensive for mere giards. A leader does not equip mere footsoldiers so.
He is holding the two +2 longswords in hand and points them, hilt first at Orsin and Lucrezia.
Fine blades that need to be wielded by better warriors than these two. Arm yourselves friends. We need every weapon we can get in the fight against the dark.
You would go well to quickly upgrade that chain shirt to one of the Breastplates, Andrea. That last strike you took was a bad one.
He walks over and lays on Hands on her
4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 1) = 14
Calistria and Iomedae favor ours efforts. Change quickly, Sascar needs our haste.
Andrea1 |
I had passed out for a few hours. Whew I was bushed
Andrea quicky identifies the items. Thank you Daniel. Do not expend your miracles too soon however. She then glances at the note. This little schism in their ranks is most useful, hopefully they will weaken each other so much we can wipe both of them out all the easier.
Looking at the magical longswords, Would John want one of the blades? A consideration of balancing the Keen quality of his current blade and the greater enhancement of one of those. Andrea will upgrade to one of the breatplates if nobody has objection.
Daniel Arrisen |
Settled then. The blades for Lucrezia and Orsin.
The Breastplate for Andrea. The rest to our packs. Let’s go.
John, do you wish to from the center with Me? Let's go.
If John comes with Daniel, He will tap both of them with his wand of divine favor before trying the next door.

Between Faelyn and Orsin you can pretty much figure that the coin you found is payment towards the job that was listed. The names you found may be future targets or could be the crew sent out to do the job. It is clear that the Red Knives are working with the two grandchildren (Chammady and Ecarrdian) of the Drovenge family. You also know that they are trying to overthrow their grandfather, Vassindio Drovenge, as the leader of the Council of Thieves. The Drovenge family is the wealthiest and most powerful family in Westcrown.
I'll add this information to the camp tab.
baldwin the merciful |
Rather than rolling appraise and spellchecks etc...I'll disclose the items at this point.
Chests:
1. An assortment of garmets for various occassions. There is three vials (drow poison) within a small box and silver +1 dagger that has spider webbing hilt.
2. An assortment of disguises...beggars outfit, noble outfit. 75 PP, 359 GP 321 SP.
3. Empty
4. There is some adventuring clothing well made a bit finer quality. +2 cold iron handax with darkly polished woolen handle.
5. Empty
6. Clothing and small satchel. The satchel contains 5 cure critical potions, 7 rubies (50 GP each) 5 pearls (100GP each) and spell component pouch.
Daniel Arrisen |
A fine haul, but please, lets not tarry any longer. Every moment we waste is another that Sascar could be coming to harm.
His anxiousness was apparent. Daniel cared for his half-sister.
He grants himself and john Divine Favor from his wand, restows it and with a 2 handed grip on his sword opens the next door.

Daniel Arrisen |
Since speaking out of turn is a free action
Daniel speaks as soon as he sees the woman swordsman and hears her bard. She is ready to fight.
Surrender and be arrested or Fight and die here.
He had a sinking feeling he knew her answer.
Daniel Arrisen |
Not Gonna roll and attack since Faelyn needs to post. This next action should not be affected by his.
The woman was apparently quite steadfast, facing superior numbers.
She either had an ace or was an honorable warrior.
Daniel advances 5ft into the room, preventing escape behind him but allowing his allies to step through.
You and I then. I CHALLENGE you!
Daniel casts CHALLENGE EVIL and draws his shield.
Will save DC14
To his allies, Take out her bard, but she and I fight alone if she is willing.
Andrea1 |
This might change depending on what happens.
Andrea pulls out an old scroll she had written long ago and chants, sending magic out that causes the woman's weapon to grow red-hot.
Burning Disarm. DC 15. Causes weapon to turn hot and burn for 3d4 damage. Target may attempt a reflex roll to drop weapon and take no damage
baldwin the merciful |
Will Save vs DC 14: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Since Daniel stepped up five feet she will gladly accept your challenge. The song is flowing through his body making her stronger and more courageous.
longsword att 1: 1d20 + 17 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 17 + 3 = 31;damage: 1d8 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 3 = 13

What AC are you sporting now
Her blade dances through the air, "Challenge...I'll carve your heart out and dine on your silly challenge you righteous fool."
Daniel Arrisen |
25/11/24 +2 to AC for her being evil. She hits me twice for 33 damage.
John, take the other fighter, she is mine.

RD 1 DMPC:John
"Ain't doing no good behind you," John pushes by Daniel to (-B 10) using his 30 feet of movement. Do you know if he get's 30 feet of movement in his Hellknight Armor? heck I'll do for story line anyway
He takes the AOO from the sword's woman.
longsword: 1d20 + 17 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 17 + 3 = 39;damage: 1d8 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 3 = 18
John winces in pain.
confirming critical:
longsword: 1d20 + 17 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 17 + 3 = 25;damage: 1d8 + 9 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 9 + 3 = 20
The critical does not confirm.
"Need blasted space to swing my blade!" There is pause, 'There's six of the same orc in here behind a bar"
John then strikes out at the female who hit him and Daniel, using the flanking position.
He power attacks,
PA keen longsword: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12;damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21
blur: 1d100 ⇒ 68
Edit: add +2 for flanking to John's attack.
dex check for fumbled weapon: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
He hangs onto the keen longsword.
