Interest Check -- Hell's Rebels on Roll20 (PF1)

Recruitment

Just wondering if anyone is interested in playing the Hell's Rebels AP for PF1. Set in Cheliax, this is your time to discombobulate the rule of the Thrice Damned House of Thrune. My Shadowrun game on Mondays is coming to a close, so I thought I could recruit some Roll20 players here.

THIS IS NOT A PLAY-BY-POST CAMPAIGN
This will be a regular game on roll20.

Time: 7:00 to 9:00 pm MST/6:00 - 8:00 PST/8:00-10:00 CST Mondays.
Where: Roll20.

RACES

You may play any of the Core Races in the Inner Sea (See the Pathfinder Core Rulebook, Advanced Player's Guide, or the Advanced Races Guide). You may also play Tieflings too. Just remember, if you play a Tiefling, you might be a slave according to the Inner Sea World Guide entry on Cheliax. Use Blood of Fiends if you want to play a Tiefling.

CHARACTER CREATION
25 ability points, level 1, 2 traits, average gold, maximized hit points at first level, rolled hit points thereafter. You may use the random generating tables in Ultimate Campaign to generate your character's background. Or if you want to be really detailed, the Task Force Games Central Casting: Heroes of Legend random tables can be used. Those who generate their backgrounds randomly gain a 100xp bonus to their character. You may opt out of randomly generating your character's background, but you won't get the 100 xp bonus.

Classes Allowed

You may Select any class from the following books:
* Pathfinder Core Rulebook
* Advanced Player's Guide
* Ultimate Psionics from Dreamscarred Press. These are rare in Cheliax.

Other Character Options
You may select any archetype for your class.

Special Note:
Since Cheliax has a Mediterranean Climate, it's possible to play a nude character in this game. If you want to be daring, that is.

Scarab Sages

Interested, but I already have a Monday game alternate weeks. If this works out, timing wise, count me in.

Thanks. After I was considering Hell's Rebels, I was also considering Hell's Vengeance.

Scarab Sages

I haven't played wither, so if one looks more like firing than the other, I'm fine with that.

I love the campaign and the time works for me, but this comment left me scratching my head. Could you provide some context as to what kind of roleplay you're trying to encourage with this? Comical? Exhibitionist? Other?

I had a nudist in my games before, and he played nude characters. I figured that since Cheliax was in a Mediterranean climate, some players might be daring enough to have their characters go nude. Of course since Cheliax has a medieval culture, that might not happen. (I'm thinking Florence, Piza, Rome, Greece, or Sicily). Of course, since the Thrice-Damned House of Thrune rules Cheliax, the laws could be draconian in that nature.

I remember someone posting about a nude Bloodrager who used mage armor and barkskin/ironskin for protection.

Definitely need to use protection when you have that much skin in the game. ;)

Scarab Sages

So, only 2-hour sessions? Seems a bit short, no?

My concept was a CN Oracle of Bones.

Quick rules ?

The animate dead spell has a range of "Creature(s) touched". If I use the Reach meta-magic feat, does that mean I can animate all corpses within close range, subject to HD limits of course?

I am interested in playing.

I'm interested, depending on the same schedule as DavidC. I don't have a specific character in mind yet, so I'm happy to fill out what the party needs.

Sounds good to me, so far. My Monday game is still on going, but we are wrapping things up. :)

Wow! Maybe it is finally time to put together a Paladin of Arshea! A character I have wanted to play for years.

Sorry to hear that the Monday SR campaign is ending tho :(

Would you allow a Shifter class character? With Skinwalker as race?

I looked at the Player's Guide and it said Norgorber was a poor choice to follow. Do you agree @EltonJ?

GM DavidC wrote:

Yes, I agree. :) He's a Neutral Evil god. You can open up to page 224 of the Inner Sea World Guide and read about him.

Scarab Sages

Oh, I know all about him, I just felt he'd oppose the Thrunes too.

Did you get a chance to approve the 3 characters posted?

@Jason "Rion" Prince are you joining?

How many players do we need? 4 seems fine to me.

EDIT: Switched to Calistria.

Hey I'm interested in playing, I was thinking about a Elven Ranger of sorts? Does this seem like an okay fit?

Scarab Sages

Any chance of a session 0 on the 5th of June? The alternate weeks are the ones I, and shadowfey, are already busy.

I have to get Hell's Rebels book one first. :)

Scarab Sages

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Just so everyone is up to date, I have procured books 1-3 of the AP for the GM.

Yep, I got them.

Hi everyone, some bad news.

We ended the Shadowrun campaign, but the players want to continue. The players had a lot of fun and don't wish it to end.

This slightly messes up my plans. My wife's wish to try Savage Rifts in two campaigns -- one based in Atlantis and the other based in the New West -- also messes with things.

I don't want to run two campaigns at the same time. There is a possibility -- running a campaign earlier in the day. I do this on Mondays with two campaigns back to back: a Pathfinder game at 3:30pm to 5:30pm MDT/4:30 to 6:30 pm CDT. And my Shadowrun game at 7:00pm.

Another possibility is putting this one on hold and all of you joining one of the Savage Rifts games (Atlantis or New West). Sorry if this is an inconvenience, but I couldn't convince my other players we've come to the end.

I'd love a regular rifts game but I've never done savage worlds. An earlier time gets in the work of my work day. I appreciate this chance to play but I don't think I'd be available

Scarab Sages

Don't overburden yourself. I'm not interested in the non-Pathfinder games, but thanks for trying, and for letting us know.
