The core wotrpg book is used, along with some homebrew stuff, with a pathfinder 1st ed backbone.
@malinor: im perkilating an idea in my head.
Reason im doing this is cuz I just started rereading the series (for reasons, grumble grumble) and felt that doing an adventure would add to my enjoyment. Honestly, i love the WOT setting, and doing adventures in it and what not.

Alrighty then!
Follow up question. Have you read the series, or only seen the show? And if youve read the series, how many times have you reread the series?
For myself, ive read books 1-7 id say, conservatively, min 12 times, although i feel its closer to 20. And it just gets lower from there towards only once for memory of light. While i know i can just pick up one of the books, start reading and know whats happened before, i enjoy reading from prologue book 1 to the last available book in the series.

I have not watched the show yet.
I have read up to where Sanderson started writing it, and then the beginning of what he wrote and the very end of the series when I was stuck in a book store for a while.
The books I have read I went through multiple times. I remember most of the storyline very well.

Well, full disclosure, I never finished the series. I had read everything up to Crossroads of Twilight and had just started reading into Knife of Dreams, when Robert Jordan died, which made me unable to continue reading when I thought I would never see the end of that story.
Up to that point; I'd say that I had read the first 7 books 5 or 6 times, 8 and 9 maybe two times.
In the meantime I have started to read through the books again several times, but never got through it to the end, mainly because there are so many other books worth reading that I just keeped getting distracted. Still planned to read them, and now the tv series might just have given me reason to dive into the books again.

i usually start my WOT adventures just after the battle of Dumai wells. (by far, my most favorite chapter in the entire series!)
But, if people are a bit fuzzy on those details, i could start it earlier in the books, say book 1 or 2 which would be interesting but would prevent people from having access to asha'man PrC.
Let's do this. I'll open it up to this group here. what book would you like to start at, and i can come up with an adventure based off of that. I do have a few ideas that would need a little time to marinate in my brain-pan a bit once i know where everyone is comfortable with starting.

I would love to start somewhere in the spring right after Falme. If you start in book 1 or 2, the important narrative is so isolated that unless the PCs are actively involved in it, it’s just business as usual: shadowspawn aren’t really out and about yet except for chasing down the three taver’n. After Falme, things start heating up everywhere (literally).

I wouldn't mind starting after the battle of Dumai wells. It's a great closure to what came before and a lot of new things began after that. But if we were to start earlier, after Falme would also be a good starting point.
But in the end, whatever would fit your version of the game best is fine with me.

I have read the whole series, at least twice, the earlier books more times as through 6-7 I would read the previous books just before release of the next installment.
Starting after Dumai wells seems a great place to start. I can still remember the buildup to the battle and the remainder of the book dwindling and my anxiety that they would put off the rescue till the next volume very clearly.

Lets take a look at potential starting points, and what is happening at various spots:
After Falme: Arad Doman and Tarabon are at open war. Large Whitecloak presence in the area is trying to exacerbate this by attacking both sides, dressed as their opponents. Jachim Carridin (Hand of the Light and darkfriend) is in Tanchico, which is about to self destruct into civil war. A dragon has been proclaimed in Tomon Head, and though it is not common knowledge, the False-Dragons in Saldea and Tear (Hadden Murk) have both been captured. The Seanchan have been seen, and refugees from the Corenne are marooned in the West. The Hunt for the Horn of Valere has set out from Illian, and hunters are beginning their exploits around the world.
After the Fall of Tear: Prophecy has been apparently fulfilled. A man has claimed the sword that cannot be touched, and the Stone of Tear has fallen. A man in Gealdan is proclaiming the dragon, and hoards of "Dragon-Sworn" are causing havoc across the war torn region. A deadly coup is about to strike the White Tower, leaving the world without leadership, and all across the world, leaders are taking on new, previously unheard of nobles and advisors that are rapidly gaining massive influence, and leading kings and queens to act radically out of character.
After Dumai's Wells: Pretty much all the cards are in play; The Dragon holds Tear, the Wastes, Cairhien, and Andor. The hunters for the horn, the Asha-man, the Seanchan, the Aiel, the Shaido, the Black Ajah, and the Forsaken are all in the field. Trollocs are attacking places that have never seen trollocs since the Trolloc Wars, 2000 years ago. The Seanchan have returned in force, claiming much of the west, with no sign of stopping.
Prequel Timelines: The Aiel War: King Laman of Cairhien has done the unthinkable; cutting down the priceless gift from the Aiel and spitting in their eye. Now the peoples of the whole world rush east to stop the onslaught of four Aiel clans, who are hellbent on revenging themselves on the pride of one man. Every nation is affected as only total war on the part of all kingdoms has any chance of staunching the flow of the Aiel. As the chaos began, the Queen of Andor vanished without a trace, leaving her husband and son behind, but with no female heir, condemning Andor to a war of succession at a time can ill afford to be leaderless.
Prequel Timelines: New Spring: The Aiel war has ended, Lamen is dead. The throne of Cairhein sits empty, and the country is in ruins. People move the world over as armies and levies move slowly back to their native lands, or carve out fresh ones, settling in places no one has lived in living memory. Strange forces move in the White Tower, as a rash of accidents and strange illnesses cull almost every Aes Sedai in positions of leadership, leaving the whole tower shifting rapidly in new directions, as the new leaders distance themselves from old policies, and enact new priorities.

I have been through the series 3 times. Twice reading and once listening. I am currently working through the series again, currently in The Dragon Reborn. I think this has the making to bring some fresh joy to WoT that wasn't felt (yet...) from the show.
I will have to dig out my WoT core rule book, but it has been ages since I've cracked that spine.
Are you thinking of starting at 1st level? Obviously the timeline would depend on what is fully available, but I have a few ideas in mind.

Both starting as 'Hunters of the Horn' or after the 'Battle of Dumai Wells' work well and I'd be very interested. Of course 'Hunters of the Horn" would limit character builds more than later after the battle.
I'd be interested in any of Rigor's five ideas. or either of Nazards. As well as a game some years after the final battle in the 'New Age' Similar to your earlier one.
I would think starting in Shara or on 'Land of the Madmen' would be difficult with the very different cultures they would have. Most of the material in the Source books seem to be very specific to the original location.
Obviously wherever or whenever you select would be interesting.

Hello all!
I think that I may still have my WoT corebook still somewhere...
I have read the books many times, although progressively less toward the end, as I was reading them as he was writing them.
I would be interested in revisiting the world of the Dragon Reborn!
I want to watch the new series, but not interested in another subscription.
EDIT: After Dumai's Wells...lol.
@ DM would you be using the WoT rules for character creation, or PF1e?
Thank you for running!

Just to update everyone:
I know what book you guys are starting from.
I got the level youre starting at.
I spent 5 hours last night figuring out the overall arc.
Tonight or tomorrow i'll be posting a proper recruitment thread with all you need to make a decent character of 5th level, for we start at the beginning of book 3, The Dragon Reborn.
