King without Land |
We have never been accepted, always been wandering with no place to call our own. But what if we had the opportunity to forge our own future. A place we could call our own, a homeland of our own design?
Kingmaker with a twist. Using only races that are commonly seen as outsiders, trouble, evil, etc. Such as Goblins, Tieflings, Half-Orcs, Orcs, Kasatha, Etc these creatures even as adventurers as looked down upon, never quite having a place to call their own.
A level 5 game, gestalt preferred, Kingmaker inspired game. I might want to play this more than GM it. But I could GM if I absolutely had too.
The party has put forward their bid to the Lord Mayor of Restov has sent several parties of fearless adventurers into the Stolen Lands. But with only spotty reports at first turning to silence he has feared the worst. Oleg sends reports of bandits and beasts besting the men Lord Mayor Ioseph Sellemius has decided to try a different tactic. Taking bids from multiple parties he notes that one party is made of riffraft and trouble makers. Expendable to a tee, and perhaps hard enough to get somewhere in the Stolen Lands. So he sends word to the party that he accepts their bid and to meet him at noon the next day outside of his manor.
Anyone interested?
I was thinking rolls could be 4d6, drop the lowest (Reroll 1s).
Fifth Level as stated before
Potentially Gestalted
Races must be those who are mistrusted, hated, or feared. Such as Goblins, Kitsune, Orcs, Tieflings, Kasatha, Changelings, etc.
Humans, Elves, Gnomes, Dwarves, Halfling and the common races are not allowed
Starting Wealth is WBL (Standard rules for WBL)
Two Traits, No Drawbacks (One Trait must be Kingmaker Campaign)
The party needs know one another, so they should establish a backstory of why they know one another and why they collectively placed a bid on this mission together.

I've been wanting to play an Oread Fighter/Magus recently (one that uses a whip). However, I wouldn't mind playing a Skinwalker, and I've been looking at that race for quite a while too.
The main thing I'd like to know is how this might be played and what day (I'm only available Saturdays because I work second shift throughout the week, though Saturday is usually agreeable with people).

I think she would do very well. Outcasts tend to clump together so she could have met the group very easily. If she looks like an Oni and has demonic features then she would be mistrusted so have the social outcast.
Psychic Monk is popular it seems I have built one too, not for this just as a build exercise.
I am not sure what to suggest for a half-oni girl. It depends on how much hellish influence she wants to do. A Monk//Empyreal Sorcerer is a good idea and works similar to the Psychic but less introspective and more reflexive and spontaneous.

Hmm. It's sounding good. I found that Paizo made an Oni bloodline, and just reading through it is giving me all sorts of ideas. I think I found my build. Thanks :)
It's settled, then. Hydrokineticist/Sorcerer. It covers two aspects of her personality quite well, methinks.
What would you be playing, King, anyways?

Astomoi cost less RP to build than Kasatha, but I have no idea by how much since it's listed as an unknown RP cost race. I know that they have far less extra abilities and definitely more drawbacks built into them than Kasatha do so I think we're golden there. Race builder, since those abilities don't have point values attached but looking at comparable powers, I'd put them at 11 RP.

Well, I've always wanted to try a goblin winged marauder. So maybe an Alchemist(winged marauder, grenadier) gestalted with Monk(Zen Archer). His only friend is his animal companion/mount. He has dreams of adventure, but is afraid to follow them out, as he thinks it might cause him to be even more disrespected.

Here it is In short, it trades out mutagen and persistent mutagen for a flying companion(dire bat or vulture). It also gives you another optional discovery.

That is reasonable. I looked them over and thought about the same level.
But also remember, why would an Astomoi join with a group of other misfits?
Gatekeeper Io wants to establish a permanent 'gate' to the Astral plane, and the one who instructed him long ago had determined that the area we would be building a kingdom in would be the best, closest place we could do it, but had dismissed it because it was uncivilized. I would be joining up because if I can settle or at least stake a claim on the proper area, I can then build the gate there, and that would propel our occult meditations forward by centuries.

Ah see there ya go, and leaves plot hooks for what happens if you get that gate open.
