Here's my basic backstory, not sure how to tie it to everyone else yet.

Coyote Wonderpetal was raised by devout religious parents, but always dappled with fire magic as a child. She terribly burned herself while experimenting with a fire spell, which caused her family to disown her. She was sent out of the community, and forced to live on her own.

Through living on her own she learned how to keep herself alive and began experimenting with other elementals in magic. This often caused her to be in trouble with the locals, and would have to be very careful with how she proceeded to fix the problem.

She has been drawn towards Brevoy where fey magic seems to be stronger. She is interested in trying to unlock more magical powers and she has seen through her experimentation, what magic can do both for good and evil. She wants to better harness the power for herself and show the world what she is capable of doing.

The Gatekeeper's Story:

In Brevoy, in a farmer's field, strange happenings began to occur. The herds moved in unison in seemingly spontaneous patterns, crops grew rapidly, but strange symbols were found pressed into the fields, and old women talked of something coming in their dreams.

Then, one day, it stopped. Inexplicably, life returned to normal. No one of import noticed the small tear to the astral plane open and close on the outskirts of Restov. In it's place, a single figure arrived.

That single figure was the gatekeeper. Battered, exhausted, and stripped of all but a cloak and brooch, Io found himself on the material plane. He proceeded to have extreme difficulties handling daily life until he encountered the other players. Only through their help was Gatekeeper Io able to regain his equilibrium and some friends.

I think that Coyote Wonderpetal would be one of the first ones Io would be able to encounter.

Unfortunately, I can't finish the character by the start date(Sunday or Monday) due to irl stuff. I wish you the best of luck!

dotting

Likely duse either a changeling or a Tiefling for my race.

I would very much love to give this a shot.

Thinking about playing a lizardfolk for my race.

remember to roll

Posting from phone, internet back tomorrow.

Any chance on allowing Focus and foible?

Everyone has used the 4d6 system, it wouldn't be fair to them without letting them all to reroll.

Sounds fair, though I do tend to get a number of 1's when I roll 4d6, whether in RL or online....
So I'm thankful you are allow re-rolling of 1's

Roll1: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 1) = 11 12 Roll1: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4 Roll1: 1d6 ⇒ 2

I'm already seeing my luck.....

Roll2: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 5, 3) = 13 14 Roll2: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Roll2: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Roll3: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6, 1) = 11 13 Roll3: 1d6 ⇒ 3 Roll3: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Roll4: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 2, 2) = 15 13 Roll4: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Roll4: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Roll5: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 4, 3) = 15 12 Roll5: 1d6 ⇒ 3 Roll5: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Roll6: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 1, 6) = 18 18 Roll6: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Roll6: 1d6 ⇒ 6

Kingmaker with a twist. Using only races that are commonly seen as outsiders, trouble, evil, etc. Such as Goblins, Tieflings, Half-Orcs, Orcs, Kasatha, Etc these creatures even as adventurers as looked down upon, never quite having a place to call their own.
....

So I could even pick drow?

Noble drow would be out if allowed, I figure.

I have run games with noble drows. But everyone else has picked traditional cr 1/2 races.

Got most of the crunch done sans equipment and still need to work on the fluff,
currently got a Drow Alchemist(Chirurgeon)+Sorcerer(Draconic (Red)) 5 being built.

So you've got no problem with drow nobles...Sweet.

But to be fair, I'll stick with the Normal Drow, unless those I'm with all agree for me to Upgrade to Noble Drow.

I don't particularly care either way, so I'm okay if you want to go noble. It just means there's a lot more trouble establishing/keeping our territory if your extended family catches wind of your surface 'machinations'. ;)

Animator's Submission

Crunch and fluff in profile.

It is a cr 1 race so you would have to take that penalty. Or else I would have to give everyone something to balance.

Drow noble should be interesting to play with.
As a GM, when I'm faced with a CR1 race, I subtract her class levels until she matches the rest of the party, if that helps.

I know those rules, But I also know that +1 LA becomes +0 LA at one point.

Looking over The Rules

Bestiary:Monsters as PCs wrote:

....

Note that in a mixed group, the value of racial Hit
Dice and abilities diminish as a character gains levels.
It is recommended that for every 3 levels gained by the
group, the monster character should gain an extra level,
received halfway between the 2nd and 3rd levels. Repeat
this process a number of times equal to half the monster’s
CR, rounded down. Using the minotaur example, when
the group is at a point between 6th and 7th level, the
minotaur gains a level, and then again at 7th, making
him a minotaur barbarian 4. This process repeats at
10th level, making him a minotaur barbarian 8 when
the group reaches 10th level. From that point onward, he
gains levels normally.
.....

Even Unearthed Arcana from 3.5 showed LAs of 3 or less do became +0 LA as the character progresses.

And thus if CR1 = LA +1, and Character level greater then 3 then LA = 0.

Grand Lodge

Coyote and I don't really care. Heck, she rolled a 45 point buy if balance matters.

@ Io

For us meeting, sounds good that we do meet first.

Excellent!

So in total who do we have for submissions:
Eva Drow Alchemist Sorceress
Io Astomoi monk (unchained, serpent-fire adept)/psychic
Coyote gathlain oracle/sorcerer
Veilwar wayang magus/swashbuckler
Kawa Tiefling Hydrokineticist/Sorcerer

Thunderbeard –No Name- - Wayang Bard (Shadow Puppeteer, Duettist) / Fighter (Weapon Master)

Characters Pending
King without Land: -No Name- - Samsaran Unchained Monk / Druid (Reincarnated)
Wildstag: -No Name- - Oread Fighter / Magus or Skinwalker
Legoguy4492: -No Name- - Goblin Alchemist (Winged Marauder, Grenadier) / Monk (Zen Archer)

Like I said it should be fine. I normally use the rules of
CR = Class levels so a CR 1 is reduced by 1 class level. But every three levels reduce CR by 1 down to half. So at 4-5 range you would have bought off the CR 1 adjustment.

My thinking though is you are getting a ton of At will spells and a pretty good Ability score boost of +4 Dex and +2 to all mental stats.

I have to ask then. Does anyone want this to turn into a monster campaign? I mean a game using higher than normal starting races? I have to offer it if we allow someone with a higher than normal race which grants things like Constant Detect Magic and so forth.

I did get someone wanting to play a Leprechaun in PM, and Kawa knows of another idea I was employing.

Almost of all of those at-will SLA's are utility spells, not attack spells. And it would require some creative ideas to turn them into some form of attack.

And since utility spells tend to be situational, they are hardly used.

Yes, Constant Detect is hardly an offensive spell, but Levitation, Dispel Magic, Divine Favor, etc are some useful spells to have always on hand.

Like I have said its fine to use. I have run them through before, and I have played DN before.

4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2, 6) = 14 [17]
4d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 2, 2) = 12 [10]
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 1) = 11 [13]
4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6, 6) = 16 [16]
4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 1, 1) = 8 [11]
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 2) = 13 [11]

5d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 3, 5) = 23

[+8 Str, +2 Dex, +4 Con, -2 Int]
Str: 19 (11+8)
Dex: 18 (16+2)
Con: 14 (10+4)
Int: 11 (13-2)
Wis: 18 (17+1)
Cha: 11

AC would be: 22 (+4 Dex, +4 Wis, +2 NA, +1 Dodge, +1 Misc Monk)
HP: 45
2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 5) + 4 = 13 [Racial HD]
5d10 + 10 ⇒ (7, 1, 4, 5, 3) + 10 = 30 [Class HD]
1d10 ⇒ 3
Companion Animal Focus (Dex)
Animal Focus (Str) (Hunter's)
Headband of Inspired Wisdom (+2)

Str: 19 (11+8) [+2] [21]
Dex: 18 (16+2) [+2] [20]
Con: 14 (10+4)
Int: 11 (13-2)
Wis: 18 (17+1) [+2] [20]
Cha: 11

AC would be 24 full time 22 Touch 19 Flat Footed
Feats:
(1) Weapon Focus (Quarterstaff)
(3) Power Attack
(5) Ascetic Style

This allows him to flurry with the Quarterstaff as if it were his Unarmed Strike (1d8) Two Handed with PA.. should be good enough for the muscle of the group.

Ok.. so the party would have their own Chewie... I want to remind you unless someone picks up Sasquatch as a language or you pick up a language they cannot communicate with you. However, if you all could speak Sasquatch you could make an interesting secret language as its based on low pitch calls and knocks on trees and rocks.

Liberty's Edge

Interested, let's see what I roll.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 6) = 19-4= 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 1) = 8 Reroll the 1s 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4) = 16 21-4= 17 Wow

Str 15
Dex 16
Cos 16
Int 17
Wis 16
Cha 15

now I should find a name and background.

Another Wayangs
Btw holy hell on those rolls

4d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3, 1) = 11 1d6 ⇒ 1
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 2) = 11 1d6 ⇒ 6
4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2, 3) = 10 1d6 ⇒ 6

4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 4) = 16

in no particular order:
10
14
13
15
13
14

Not super lucky on those rerolls.

Was planning on playing a lizardfolk ranger( not sure what the other class will be.)

1d6 ⇒ 1
1d6 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 6

1d6 ⇒ 3

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Your 10 stays the same but you now have two 17s

Also don't forget this is lvl 5 so you get to add a +1 to one of your scores

Silver Crusade

Do you still need players?

Thanks I will make sure to build my Alias tomorrow/today.

Monster campaign is a very different thing, balance and story-wise; I'd avoid it.

I am new to Pathfinder, but this sounds interesting. Is it too late for submissions?

I am still accepting. But there are a lot of submissions. I will take a look at any posted.

There is something strange, either some roll changed between the preview to see what I rolled and the "submit post" part or my math has gone astray.

maybe something changed when I rerolled the 1s, but what was printed is the final value.

4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5, 6) = 19-4= 15
4d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1, 1) = 8 Reroll the 1s 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 4) = 16 21-4= 17 Wow
4d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 6, 5) = 19-4= 16 No! 15
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 3, 6) = 13-2= 15 No! 11
4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 4, 6) = 17Reroll the 1 1d6 ⇒ 4 20-4 = 16
4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 6) = 12-4= 16 No! Reroll the 1 1d6 ⇒ 5 Now it is a 16

So 15, 17, 15, 11, 16, 16

Still great, but a bit more sane.

Str 15
Dex 16
Cos 16
Int 17
Wis 15
Cha 11

Next time, save and then check what should be rerolled.

Wow, this thing sure exploded, didn't it?

Any language I speak is a 'secret language', since it's communicated telepathically! :P

Yes but that only goes one way lol.

I see he picked Sylvan as a purchases race, so Io and Coyote can speak with him easily

That it did Kawa

Btw. Kawa, Io, Coyote, and Veilwar are given slots. I am looking to fill one or two more slots. Eva has a good bid in.

Two, maybe 3 sorcerers. Decidedly you don't need another.

I am fairly slow at making characters and now I am redoing him. I think I am out of the run. If I came out with something interesting I will post him, but I doubt he will be ready in time.
Good luck and good game.

Yeah I'm pretty slow at making characters online, I hope I can pump this out. We shall see.

In pm I have also gotten interest for a leprechaun bard he didn't have a second class at the time. I warned against sorcerer as well.

Also I a very liberal with paladins.

If I can be a paladin of freedom//bard I think my leprechaun would do well.

Leprechaun paladin might be one of the best ideas I have ever heard as a character concept.

Sasquatch, Leprechaun... I'm beginning to think that my Astomoi is pretty normal-like! :P

(just joking around, guys)
