Advice

So as a GM I need a way for a bag guy to sneak a group of large creature into a moderately guarded town. The way I want to go is a portal sort of like in portal only its long range. The bad guy had a portal open in a lair of ogres and carry’s around the sister portal. Basically he throws it up and a door way opens allowing fast transportation of himself but also allows ogres to spill into the town behind the walls.

Does something like this exist

The only thing i've found so far, outside of a custom item of portal, is the ring of Gates. The Ring isn't perfect however, it would only allow for small creature to pass and only those that succeed in a DC 13 escape artist check. One of the ring would also have to have been dropped in the village prior to the invasion. Although, it's nothing a caster couldn't do by themselves.

Then it's Teleportation Circle, you could make a scroll or a custom magic item.

What you're asking is basically 9th level spell equivalent in conjuration magic.

As a GM, i think your best bet might be creating an artefact that allow it.

Sounds like a job for dimensional folding.
Except it's a 7th level spell in 3,0. Boo! But you don't get old now, so yay!

A pair of Portal Oaks with one of them in some sort of planter so you can move it around? 45k gp for the pair though. And it likely weighs a ton.

Or based on a 5th level druid spell...

Woodlands' Ingress for Tree Stride on up to 10 creatures. With an Oak/Ash/Yew tree outside and inside town(say, at the park, or Tree Feather Token) you can teleport 3000'. 18k gp for the Ingress, and 400gp for the token.

I did consider transport via plants, but, being limited to one medium creature for every three caster level is bot what i'd call a large quantity, but i guess that's subjective.

Tree Stride(which is a lower level spell than Transport via Plants) via Woodlands' Ingress has neither of those issues. Simply 10 creatures per day as long as the tree is larger around then they are. Just add another Woodlands' Ingress per 10 creatures you want teleported. Bonus point: none of them have to be casters of any sort.

You could use the old 'ancient transport system rediscovered' excuse.

The city square has always had a'rune circle' in it that the town was originally built around in old times but it was eventually obscured by dirt and traffic and such and forgotten about by the townspeople.

The rune circle is part of an ancient travel network of a lost empire, most of them having been covered or destroyed in the ages since. Your bad guy has discovered a second portal and the information required to open a connection between the two, but not the location of any more gates yet (perhaps there is such in the town which he is trying to steal?).

To activate the gates requires you to know and think of the 2 gates 'mystic numbers' and cast a conjuration spell into one of them to activate the connection. The level of the spell used x 10 minutes is how long the connection stays open before collapsing.

The connection however is 2 way. I would suggest the ogre's gate be near but not IN the ogre's stronghold.

Well, Tree stride is personnal, but the item would work yeah. Nice find

The Exchange

I remember a thread about two years ago where we were discussing spells that we would like to see in Pathfinder, and two-way intraplanar portals were one of the things we realized simply don't exist as player options.

I'm assuming you want the portal in order to give the heroes a target to try to close or use to assault the bad guy's layer. If so, you'll probably need to make up a custom explanation. The best part of that approach is that you can backstory it however you want to and not worry about cost, caster level, or item existence. There's plenty of unexplained portals in Paizo published materials. So Evil McBadguy finds a "thin place" in town and figures out where the other end is and how to link them.

If you just want to bring in a bunch of ogres (and are high enough level) stick them all in a secret vault and summon it back in town.

A scroll or two of teleportation circle?

If you are the GM just make up an item that works the way you want it to. Unless this is for PFS the GM has the option to create anything he wants or needs.

Or for a non-magical option, how about a secret tunnel?
