Random question of the day, What is the smallest first party PC race in Pathfinder?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So, I'm not asking for a tiny PC race or anything such as I doubt it exists, But the smallest in height. What is the shortest first party race for player characters?

This question has no actual point, I just like playing small characters, Dont know why, I stopped questioning myself on this ages ago. But yeah, I just wanted to know what the smallest race I can play as is.. xD

I think Gathlains might actually be tiny, which would mean them. Advanced Race Guide IIRC. Otherwise, you're looking at a probably several way tie between most of the small races. If you insist on RAW from the height charts, I'll need to do some number crunching.

Also, not sure if it's gauche to mention one of my threads, but you might like the "Fine Size: Creatures that are and how to get there" thread. I don't know how to link.

Tough to say. We actually don't have precise numbers for many of the races.
Grippli are probably the smaller ones we do have some sort of measure for - "just over 2 feet" - but I could see Leshies or Gathlain competing for the title. And the constructs could be anything qualifying for "Small", I suppose.

Thank you both! I did not know of Gathlain, I'l have a look at them. And I'l take a look at that thread too @Sysryke Thank you!

Gathlain are small. A kitsune in fox shape is tiny.

Kobolds with their -4 Str penalty may be the smallest in some sense. Ratfolk can share a 5' square in combat with other ratfolk.

I think the race with the lowest height per d20pfsrd's tables is a grippli.

A thorough answer as always avr. Thanks for the catch on Gathlains, I was trying to work from memory. Between your and Nyerkh's posts, I'd have to agree grippli for smallest of the smalls. . . . . unless we're talking weight/mass. Probably still grippli (amphibians are relatively light), but Wayangs look especially scrawny. Am I the only one who finds those little buggers exceptionally creepy? I fully admit, it's almost all because of the artwork.

Thanks avr!

Havent looked much at Wayangs but they do look quite weird..

Shadow Lodge

Here are the Advanced Race Guide charts: http://legacy.aonprd.com/advancedRaceGuide/ageHeightWeight.html

Of these races, female Grippli are the smallest on average by both height (1'10" on average) and weight (25lbs. on average, though some other races also have this average weight).

I'm not seeing details like this for that Gathlain online...

Thank you Taja the Barbarian! Thats a very useful chart, Thanks! =D
