If you want Sadie, just whistle. You know how to whistle don't you?

You put your lips together and blow.

Somebody wants Sadie, when that someone is done with her, we will see where the rest of the group stands.

And I will keep everyone not selected now in mind for later. It's deciding this and I'm sorry I can't pick everyone.

Aria will be an occasionally appearing NPC, not to appear until you read the assignment.

The dwarf frowns at the cheerful halfling and grunts an acknowledgement. "Sò.." Arlo started, as if casual conversation was a new language, "yòu ùsèd tò jùst bè à rèsèàrchèr, hùh? Thìs ìsn't gòìng tò bè yòur fìrst fìèld wòrk, ìs ìt?"

Spencer tilts his head to the side, considering. "Well, I guess that depends on what you mean by "field work." I've certainly done work in the field, but mostly just preliminary information-gathering or assessments after the fact. You know, the sowing and the tilling. This will be my first trip into the field for, shall we say, harvest time."

He frowns. "That field metaphor got away from me."

I think we're going to have a lot of fun here

The dwarf's scowl deepens and he looks at a distant corner of the room. "Бля..", Arlo mumbles under his breath. "Wèll, shìt. Ì gùèss Ì'll dò whàt Ì càn tò kéép yóu álìvé. Nó prómìsés."

Dwarven:
"Fùck.."

Reading posts now! ...Briallen as leader? Hmm... I'll have to see what the fellow PCs say. Paladin leader is an odd choice, but we have, what, *three* paladins?

AL-eon has been working for the organization for a while, I think it would be fun if she knows Brighthammer and has worked with him before. I'll leave it to you Brighthammer on when where.

Al-eon nodded when her name was called.
She let her holo formal clothing dissipate, to reveal her preferred bodysuit.
Then she walked over to where the group was collecting. Stopping. she Towered over most of them. She took her time, checking them out assessing them, before Saying to Brighthammer.

"It is good to be working with you again Arlo. Do you need me to carry your back up ale, as I did last time?"

The halfling woman bowed her head to the committee. She couldn't help but ponder exactly why the tentacled mystery person, Phireston, wanted her to act as leader. But...

Well, it was hardly up to her if she would be leader or not. That was a decision for a group.

"I CAN use scrolls," the halfling noblewoman answered, nodding and resting her wrist upon her rapier's hilt. "'Tis no specialty of mine, but I succeed more often than I fail, and likewise have similar success with a good wand."

She has a +12 UMD mod. Not amazing, but not terrible!

The young paladin saw that Arlo and Spencer were busy talking. She thought about approaching the Android, but frankly she had always made Briallen just a little uncomfortable as it was hard to read what she was really thinking. And the Lurker, well... She assumed the Lurker would approach whoever the Lurker wished to approach.

So, Briallen went up to Moira, that strange human woman that seemed to answer to a higher power, much as Briallen did...

"I have heard of your exploits," the halfling told Moira as she came up. "You're quite capable, so I've heard, and find little rest, such is your diligence. I respect such ardor for justice."

Briallen held her hand out to Moira, smiling politely.

"I don't believe we've spoken much before," the little paladin told Moira. "But I look forward to working alongside you. Your knowledge and unique talents should prove most useful."

Yeah, I think all the non-paladins straight-up told the committee they don't really feel suited to lead.

We could maybe just not have a single leader? Not sure how essential it is for making things run smoothly. Like maybe Briallen could take the lead for combat, AI-eon for communications, and so on? I guess this is a conversation we'll need to have in character, but GM I'm curious if you've got any more thoughts.

Arlo's face sours at the idea. "Nàh, Àl. Ìt dòèsn't sòund lìke thìs jòb wìll bè às èàsy às làst tìme. Bèsìdès dàmn mÌnì-kèg nèàrly stòppèd ùs fròm gèttìng tò thè èxtràctìon pòìnt ìn tìme ànywày."

I agree on this being an IC conversation that needs to be had. Briallen certainly thinks so!

Briallen is over here thinking "I am WAY less informed on strange worlds than the nerds of the group," basically. She trusts herself on battle savvy and on being able to negotiate with people easily (very solid diplomacy), but her knowledge on various matters is far less than that of the nerds.

Definitely needs to be discussed IC, I think. But GM thoughts would be good here!

She smiles at the comment.

"Yes that was a close-run thing, I meant to ask, why where those females chasing you saying you had to pay?"

Sen-Motive DC12:

She knows full well why she is pulling his leg.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24
Arlo's lip creased into a snarl. "Ì'll nèvèr ùndèrstànd thè còncèpt òf 'ándróìd hùmór'."

She brakes out laughing at his comment.
Then says.

"Bad-tempered and comugly as always Arlo"

She puts her fist under her chin, In the act of thinking
then to herself, she says.

"I think I may bring that ale, just to tempt you"

Sen-Motive DC12:

Again she is pulling his leg, she has no intention of putting temptation in his way.

Game thread is up guys, GM should we head over?

Strongly considering creating a discord for the group. Would that work for people?

PMed

I'd use a Discord!

OK,
we will finalize characters tomorrow, on this thread (character sheets just have to be up to playable, changes would still be possible for a few days). The thread describing the trip to the city of Ovium, in the plane "Between Earth And Sky" is already up and expect everyone to post on the game thread. I expect everyone, without exceptions, to post on their process of getting settled-in on Thursday and we will continue daily from there.

Good luck guys and have a great game!

"I can't say I'm one to stand by while meddlers go mucking about with reality, but I suppose that's why we're here. Pleased to be working with you, Briallen. Council made some good choices with this group." She returns the halfling's handshake with an almost magnetic grip.

The halfling woman did not have a very strong grip, but there was a sort of controlled energy to her handshake.

"I feel much the same," she answered Moira. "Perchance we will have an opportunity to discuss strengths and weaknesses better as a group. I suspect we shall all be taking much counsel from Al-eon and Mr. Bevel."

Just as a heads up, this week has been unusually and surprisingly busy. I won't be able to get a character sheet ready until tonight or tomorrow, but will be able to post regularly after that. Sorry for the delay right out of the gate, but RL is what it is.
