Pick up objects quicker

Advice

Heyya,

I'm trying to find a way to pick up items faster than the standard Move Action. "As part of a move action" would be fantastic.

I've found the Cut Your Loses feat, but it is very situational (during a withdraw action only).

Ideally, this is for a Rogue or other sneak attacking class/archetype.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers.

The Grasping Tail feat allows Tieflings with the Prehensile Tail racial trait to pick up small unattended items as a Swift Action.

It might help to know exactly what you're trying to do. If the objects are tiny and numerous, you could take a dip of aether kineticist to scoop up a bunch of them at one time as a standard action.

The idea is making Jet Li's character, The Ghost, from the movie, War.

He does a lot of assassination with items and weapons special/unique to his mark, creating a very dramatic kill.
So, I'd like the character to be able to pick up those items quickly, adding in some Catch Off Guard and Imp Catch Off Guard feats to enable Sneak Attack with those items.
So, no, not multiple items but viable improvised weapons.

Well, then....I guess this assassin might be a tiefling... :-)

Thanks for the responses!

Rogues have the Scavenger talent, which sort of does this:

Scavenger wrote:
Scavenger (Blood of the Moon pg. 19): A rogue with this talent can pick up and stow an object as a swift action instead of two separate move actions. She gains a +2 bonus on Sleight of Hand checks to pick the pockets of creatures that are stunned or disabled.

But the best and most straightforward way to do this is the Grab and Go feat from the martial arts handbook.

Grab and Go wrote:

Prerequisites: Catch Off-Guard or Throw Anything, base attack bonus +1.

Benefit: As a free action, you can pick up an unattended item as part of a movement. Picking up the item does not provoke an attack of opportunity. If you have Throw Anything, you can pick up a number of closely gathered items that could be held in one hand (such as dishes from a stack of plates) equal to your Dexterity modifier (minimum 1). You must have a hand free to use this feat.

Bonus points for pre-reqs already being something you satisfy with your planned build.

Well...this, then.

Yes.

for completeness sake... though not the direction you're likely looking to go...

2 levels in the goblin feral gnasher barbarian racial archetype gives you Throw Anything as a bonus feat, and allows you to pick up unattended objects as a free action.

I'll take it. The build, like many, is getting a bit feat-intensive for a straight Rogue.

But, yeah, that bite attack is not really adding to the theme.

Ok, so I know you're not looking for more feats but...

1. Perhaps consider Grippli as your race for a Climb speed; this gives you 2 options
2. for enhanced mobility replace Camouflage with Jumper and Swamp Stride with glider; now you can always be considered to have a running start when using the Jump action under Acrobatics and can glide with wings, adding 5' horizontal movement for every 10' of vertical distance you fall
3. for a different assassination method, replace Camouflage and Swamp Stride with Toxic Skin; 1/day produce a poison that either coats a weapon or coats your skin, and thus affects foes hit by the weapon OR by a Touch attack
4. Grippli get a feat called Agile Tongue that allows you to make Touch attacks from 10' away, pick up unattended small items up to 10' away, pick pockets from 10' away, or deliver Touch spell effects from 10' away.

Now let's say you take a dip into Alchemist 1. This gives you Throw Anything as a bonus feat. You also take levels in Brawler/Deckfighter for Catch Off Guard as a bonus feat. At level 1 you take Agile Tongue and by level 3 you pick up Grab And Go. Now at level 3 with an 18 Dex you can grab up to 4 small, unattended items from around the room of your intended victim up to 10' away while using a Move action to position yourself in the best place to throw them. Now you're armed with multiple pieces of ammo, one of which might be coated with poison, or instead of the poison you could've used your Move action to climb 20' up the wall, jump off as a horizontal long jump (on a 10 with Acrobatics +10) for 30' of movement to some place with Cover.

Just throwing that out there, doesn't have to be the build.

I am not sure what you have in mind, but perhaps a blink back belt would be worth considering? Its less picking stuff up, and more that your item keeps showing up in your hand.

Not exactly the advice you're looking for, but let me point you to the Makeshift Scrapper archetype. You get Catch Off Guard and Throw Anything for 'free'.
