Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena grumbles as she hastily pulls on her tunic and grabs her hammer

Awww, I wanted the chance to say "Markhet's spidey senses tingling"

Markhet climbs out from under Larr's paw, staches up her shield and sickle and climbs on the big cat's back.

"There is trouble Larrs," Markhet says, "we have to save everyone again!"

Markhet spurs Larrs into a charge, the big cat takes double moves unless he comes to a long straight away, in which case he drops into a run.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish sits up blearily at the noise and call to arms, clutching her blanket to her self. Then hastily scrambles to get into her clothes, done her sword and whip and head off towards any commotion.

So, I assume a rather short amount of time to dress in 'civy' clothes? Has Ayish had time to prepare her Bard spells at least?

Um, did Marhket gather more than just her shield and sickle? Is she riding bare back upon Larrs, since I don't think the poor feline would be sleeping in his saddle?

Markhet sleeps in her smock if not her armour so she's pretty well dressed already, but she won't take the time to put the saddle on Larrs as the skill checks aren't really that high.

The Exchange

After a brief, non verbal exchange between X and Mamood, X announces, "he is alright. the spider did not hurt him. it came from that chimney. mamood will explore it for us to insure it is safe."
Mamood moves over to the chimney where the spider entered. Unless someone objects, he climbs in and starts to look for more spiders.
Climb 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

GM

Mamood climbs into the chimney but seems to find no other danger. Markhet, Celena and ayish arrive on sense seeing two of Almehs red clad guards standing weapons ready.

The mercenaries and you search the monastery top to bottom over the next hour, You find no other dangers however.Maybe it crept down the chimney or maybe it was there before. Regardless The Guards do not leave Almahs door the rest of the night.

After the search Trevvis , the red freckled mercenary leader chuckles a bit as he nears the group "Fine job ya did of clearing the place.' Giving a grin to Ayish he winks "Fine outfit ya have there. The other two mercenary's he had with him, a dark skinned woman named Yesper and a tall ulfen named Dullen laugh as they head back toward the beds.

Ok now what folks?

The Exchange

X returns to bed and dreams up ways to make Trevvis pay for his disrespect of my sister.

"There teasing makes Markhet mad!" the tiny gnome growls, "Markhet would make him eat his words or say something particularity mean if she were free . . . but Markhet is still a slave so she will bide her time and wait till she can speak freely. Then Markhet will say some things . . . oh yes, she will indeed."

Markhet returns to bed and in the morning she explores the green spaces completely. Her newly acquired pass without trace allows her to easily walk through torn bushes.

Okay, later everyone, I'm off on vacation and might not be back for a month! We'll see what the internet is like on the west coast.

Male Human Cleric 5

Enjoy your vacation!

While everyone is awake, N'Djamena says: "Hold, my friends! Nethys has sent me a vision. Buried in the overgrown garden, there is a holy relic -- a weapon of mystical significance to the bearded man depicted in this temple's artwork. Will any of you come with me to dig it up? I fear that I will not be able to sleep until it is recovered."

N'Djamena looks hopefully at the others.

The Exchange

"of course we shall aid you. come, let me light the way for us." X casts Light. On the way out to the garden, he picks up some torches.

Male Human Cleric 5

"Excellent! Now let me see if I can remember which part of the garden it was buried in, in my vision."

N'Djamena adjusts his armor while trying to remember the details of his dream.

Did we get enough rest to recover our spells?

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk glowers at Trevvis, committing his face to memory. Me thinks I don't like him, and me thinks he needs something to scare him some. Oh well, later.

Vrealk is jarred back to the group with N'Djamena's request. "Of course me help you dig up the weapon, friend-N'Djamena. Lead the way, and me will follow!"

The Exchange

... and shovels. We'll need shovels.

GM

While technically no you have not had 8 hours, however why the hell not, sure. Anyhow you will still be able to catch a few hours sleep. When do you pray for your spells anyhow?

The party is able to find a few shovels in the caravan supplies even if they do get odd looks from the mercenary on duty, but she says nothing as the party heads to the garden.

Soon the party is digging at an area N'Djamena felt right about, it takes a while but after about three feet someones shovel strikes something. N'Djamena almost feels a vibration as he digs with his fingers to uncover what has lain hidden beneath the earth

Covered in earth he lifts a Morningstar of blueish/gray metal into the night sky. Light from the torches gleans off the weapon, catching swirls and etchings of unearthly beauty that seem to make it a work of art as much as a weapon.

Tempest N'Djamena whispers into the nigh with a voice not solely his on. Somehow N'Djamena feels more complete as if a part of him had been missing for oh so long.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena passes the magic mace that they found earlier to Xerxzayas. "Here, take this -- I don't need it any longer."

He practices swishing Tempest through the air a few times.

I don't know when Nethys likes to be prayed to. Maybe in the evening?

GM

Dusk or dawn seem good times as it is divided between night and day, black and white, just seems to fit to me. Also Tempest acts as a +1 morning star

"Neat," Markhet says when she sees the weapon, "how did the priest know to dig there Markhet wonders?"

Alive and well on the first stage of my journeys. Reporting to you from a place two hours outside of Calgary.

"It was in my dream. Let me see if I can remember..."

y'all can read N'Djamena's spoiler up above in this post

The Exchange

"in a dream? as if it called to you? be very careful, n'djamena, this is some very potent magic. you can not let it get the better of you." X vows to watch his friend closely for signs of arcane possession.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena is over to look N'djamena's new weapon in less than a heartbeat.

Markhet demands to feel the priest's forehead and to see his tongue.

"You looks okay," Markhet reluctantly says, "you should eat more milk and meat though, maybe some gazelle, and some eggs in your feed would help to make your coat nice and shinny."

Markhet's medical knowledge, it seems, may be more feline based.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk smiles a wide grin. "That sure is nice morning star, friend-N'Djamena. Me wish me would have dreams like that. Lately, me just dream of bugs and pugs. Hah! That rhymes!"

After Markhet's 'examination', Vrealk chimes in, "Me thinks he doesn't have coat like Larrs, friend-Markhet. But me agree that meat and eggs good for anyone, cat or person. Me wonder if there are any eggs around here?"

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

The antics of Marhket and Vrealk bring a slight smile to Ayish's face. Though this new strange weapon and its affinity for N'djamena causes her to frown slightly. She stands quietly beside her brother for now.

"Of course he doesn't have a coat like Larrs," Markhet notes, "Markhet thinks it's because of his diet. But if the priest eats right he could have a full head of hair and a nice beard. Then the ladies will be all over him."

GM

After the great weapon hunt, the party is able to get a few more hours of sleep. The next morning you eat a breakfast of goat cheese and Fresh loaves of khubuz Hadrah had been baking since before down. After the meal you are summoned by one of lmah's guards to the chapel. Upon arriving you can see Almah and Garvel standing over a makeshift table looking at a map

"Greetings" The merchant princess says as you approach " I hope you sleep well after last nights incident.Come , gather round, As you can see here I have had a rough map prepared based off scouting done by travelers and a few locale merchants that travel the near by routes." She says as say indicated the map. Garvel stands at her shoulder but says nothing

"What I would like you to do is scout the area and the outskirts of the village.Try and gauge the Gnolls strength that hold the village currently."[b] Be hind her gavel speaks to you [b]"I would avoid the battlemarket at this time, that is the most likely base for anyone holding the village and the most gnolls and best defense I would say"

Almah nods at Garvels words "Do any of you have any questions or thoughts on this?"

Over view of the area

Female Gnome Paladin 5

"Any idea if there are Gnolls or anything else in these two area's?" Celena asks pointing at the ruined watchtower and the old shrine

GM

"Humm Gravel says "Yes, the watchtower fell with Kelmarane. It is uninhibited or so we have gathered. The shrine is old, and we have been told is home to a hermit or some type."

Know religion/ locale DC 15

Spoiler:
There used to be a temple to nethys in this area

The Exchange

"and what of this sultans claw?"

GM

That was the wicked looking tree, kinda shaped like a claw y'all meet the caravan at, also the place the fire took place and your camp sight before moving to the monastery

Male Human Cleric 5

Know: religion 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Knowledge Religion

Celena thinks for a minute or two before responding "That would probably be the old shrine of Nethys I seem to recall being in the area chances are the hermit is a priest or worshipper."

The Exchange

"i suggest the shrine. it might be a fair location to for us to launch expeditions into kelmarane."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk's eyes light up at the prospect of scouting. "Scouting? Yes! Right up my alley! Me is very good at scouting, mistress-Almah."

He looks to Xerxzayas. "Me agree, friend-mage. That would make a good spot for me to scout the village out. And if me discovered, although me doubt it, being across that river let me get away easier. And no one expect one goblin to be a threat."

Male Human Cleric 5

"Yes, if Nethys's shrine is being profaned, we should go there first."

GM

As the group sees to agree the old shrine is a good starting point Almah nods "Very well, I shall await your return."

It is not long after that yo gather your gear and start across the wind blown terrain toward the river

Ok how do you plan to get across the river? try and find a ford? Anyhow someone give me a survival heck

survival: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish pads along following the group, walking beside her brother and his companion.

Am trying to adjust the character to 2nd Lvl. Just not much free time with the way work is going, sorry.

The Exchange

What? There's no bridge?

GM

There is no bridge there is a well used ford about 12-14 miles from the village down the traderoad near a place called Bronze Hook: a small trade village

The Exchange

That's a day out of our way. No good. Can we build a raft or look for another ford closer to us?

GM

Yep a survival check or know locale or geography would work for that

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish looks at the churning river water and quietly steps closer to Xerxzayas

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena helps Markhet with her Survival check, if possible.

untrained Survival: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

GM

You make your way from the monastery and are careful to avoid the area's wildlife. Markhet with a little help from N'Djamena do find what looks to be a low point in the river. Fifty feet across and maybe 3 to 4 feet deep with rocks jutting from the river making slippy but serviceable stopping points to help in crossing the rapid water

Ok how do ya plan to cross, I'll need str checks from anyone crossing and half move, or ya could try swimming. It is 3-4' deep

Your map

Male Human Cleric 5

"Friends, I suggest we rope ourselves together before crossing. So if one of us starts to falter, the others can support him."

"Larrs is going across that river," Markhet says pointing, to which the lion seems to instantly process:

"Mrowl?" The cat seems to ask with a hint of defiance in his voice.

"Yes you are Larrs!" Markhet snaps.

"Mrrowwl!" the cat snarls.

"You are you big baby!" Markhet shouts, standing up in her saddle, "Markhet is going across there. How would Larrs like to be left alone? Who would clean Larrs' teeth? Who would brush his fur? Who would help him hunt? Larrs is going over that water one way or another . . ."

"Hissssssss!"

"Larrs Catington!" The gnome snaps leaning forward to look the cat in the eyes, "don't you dear take that tone with me! I don't care how snarly you get but don't you hiss at me or Markhet will pull your whiskers!"

The cat lets out a low growl but there doesn't seem to be as much fight too it.

"Okay priest," Markhet says when she's sure the cat won't give her any more lip, "but Markhet thinks you should tie part of the rope around Larrs' saddle. Larrs is a good swimmer when he needs to be."

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish does not look at all confident about her ability to cross the river before them.

The Exchange

X agrees with N'Djamena. He begins by tying off Mamood, then Ayish (if she lets me), then himself.

GM

who goes first and in what order?

Male Human Cleric 5

I suggest Mahmood first, then the weaker folks in the middle and N'Djamena or Xerxzayas last. Is Larrs a particularly good swimmer?

N'Djamena removes his armor as a safety precaution before crossing the river.

"Let's do this as quickly as we can; I don't relish being attacked without my armor yet again!"
