GM

The cloak is magical

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena start putting on his armor....again. And he unties himself from the rest of the party (assuming everyone made it to shore OK).

Sovereign Court

Male hu-man Paladin

Markhet doesn't yet have anything magical. Hint, hint.

Male Human Cleric 5

Cat got her tongue? :-)

The Exchange

No reason for me to stop after just one round. I'll look at it for a while and see what type of magic radiates from it.

GM

That is faint, abjuration. Ok folks now what?

"Markhet could use a new cloak," the gnome humbly suggests, "Markhet would take good care of it."

All of Markhet's clothes are obviously hand me downs, mostly looking like halfling boys clothing, and everything she has is more then a little thread bare.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish uses the ropes about the pony to lift herself above the muddy banks of the river as the stout and stalwart little beast surges ashore. Once on dry land Ayish stands tall and proud, running her hands back through her wet hair and then pulling it over a shoulder to begin twisting into a braid. She looks about at the parties work with a grim and determined look upon her face, before moving to stand beside Xerxzayas.

Made it!

The Exchange

"perhaps we could track the goblins back to their home. we could talk to them and see if we could gain allies in our attempts to re-civilize the area. if not, we will have to take care of them anyway." X does not seem to even notice that he is wet.

Male Human Cleric 5

"Goblins as allies?! That's just ridiculous." N'Djamena turns to Vrealk and gives him a condescending smile. "I don't mean you, of course. You're helping a lot."

"Markhet, go right ahead and take that cloak. I'm sure you will find it useful. "Xerxzayas, we can go goblin hunting on our way back from the Shrine, but we're on a holy mission at the moment."

GM

Might want to heal Markhet and larrs, they are hurt

Male Human Cleric 5

Whoops, I forgot I'm a cleric in this one! :-)

Nethys raises his holy symbol and prays: "Oh Nethys, if it is your inscrutable will, heal your servants so they may serve you another day!"

Onward to the shrine then?

"No, me agrees with you. Normal-thinking goblins are not nice. My tribe kick me out years ago for being insane; it not my fault me was born this way! Regular goblins not make good allies, me thinks."

N'Djamena certainly wants to go.

The Exchange

To the Shrine!

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Still braiding her drying hair, ignoring the water drying from her self and clothes, Ayish dutifully follows along beside her brother and his companion.

Markhet puts on her new cloak.

"Markhet likes her new cloak," the gnome says, "it's much warmer then her old cloak."

Markhet is ready for adventure

ps what does the cloak look like?

GM

The cloak is light brown, with stylized script like embroidery in Black and dark brown. It also has a bronze fox headed clasp.

GM

Ok moving on, Ya guys I know I suck at weekend updates

Harsh winds whisper through the badlands, their cruel touch withering all but the hardiest of desert life. Dust and bits of debris dance across the ground, carried by the scorching breezes. It has taken you near two hours to track across the hilly terrain but now, Ahead of you stand the ruins of ancient walls sprawl along the eroded bed of a long-dried wash. Two towering statues rise from the scree, their features sand-blasted into anonymity.

Your map

The Exchange

"n'djamena, do you want to go first?"

Male Human Cleric 5

"Sure, although I will defer to Vrealk if he wants to scout first. As long as he doesn't stray too far ahead..."

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Ironically, as N'Djamena says this, Vrealk has already crept to the opening and begun sneaking in to look around. After all, isn't it his job to scout? And those who do their jobs best don't need to be told to do them ...

stealth 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 add another +1 against a trap

"Markhet loves her new cloak," the gnome says to anyone who'll listen, "it really fits her personality, because she's sly like a fox! Also brown is a good colour for Markhet because she is a druid."

GM

Are you guys gonna follow Vrealk at a distance or wait till he comes back? Also we are all glad Markhet likes her new cloak :)

Vrealk

Spoiler:

Crumbling after centuries of neglect, the ancient monastery’s walls loom 20 feet high. Elaborate friezes once covered the battered limestone, but scouring winds have destroyed many of the ancient carvings. West of the temple, mostly buried ruins sprawl for hundreds of yards, mute testimonies to what once must have been impressive structures.

You can make out a archway to the north Beyond the outer ruins, a wide doorway leads into a forest of stone pillars: the roofless, colonnaded hall of a temple interior. The breeze here carries a pungent stench of decay. Two rectangular depressions run across the pillared hall’s rubble strewn floor, perhaps once filled with water, but now choked with thorny desert weeds.

High on the walls you can see movement, Brown/tan spiders the larger then you, crawl in the top of the walls. You can make out four as they move along the wall and the tops of the pillars. You do not think they have seen you

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celena will wait for Vrealk to return Using the time to clean her new bow.

The Exchange

I think wait. He wanted us to wait before, right?

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish stands beside her brother and his companion. Smiling slightly as she listens to Marhkets' chatter about the new cloak the little Gnome has been bestowed.

As for her freind Vrealk, she can't stop the Goblin from doing what he's doing, only be in a position to go to her friends aid if need be.

Posting to show I'm still here. :)

Male Human Cleric 5

If he hasn't come back after four rounds, N'Djamena will start to follow him with Tempest drawn and ready for battle.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk returns to the group, appearing suddenly as if he was invisible (unless someone can make a DC 33 perception check, of course :-)). He quietly whispers: "Spiders! More filthy vermin, crawling along the wall tops, and bigger than me. Me thinks we will need to kill them, of course."

He goes on to describe everything he saw in his scouting mission (everyone can read the spoiler).

Male Human Cleric 5

Can anyone think of a good place to confront the spiders? Maybe we can lure them towards us rather than running into a big pile of cobwebs (e.g.)?

GM

Here is your map

The big squares are ten feet, I tried to put smaller ones in there but it did not go so well. Also I placed the spider in the last spots Vrealk saw them. Feel free to change your order because you are not in the room yet, I just placed ya close by.

Another note: These are not web using spiders, as Vrealk saw no webs.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena replies in a low voice: "I suggest we hide behind this wall where we are and lure the spiders out into the open. And when they come out, we pounce! I don't relish fighting in a forest of pillars. Not at all."

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Celana nods to N'djamena taking a position behind one of the walls. "Now we just need something to use as a lure" Celena say looking over the rest of the party.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk thinks for a moment. "Me know! Me can be the lure!" Vrealk takes out his new shortbow, nocks an arrow, and will start creeping back into the shrine slowly, trying to get within 30' of a spider without them noticing. (Unless someone stops him, of course.)

stealth 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27

GM

Vrealk can do that with some ease.

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

I'll give the others a chance to chime in before I assume he went in, but assuming no one stops me and I attack, here is my surprise attack and initiative roll. Again, give the others a chance to stop the impulsive goblin, if anyone thinks it's a bad idea.

attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
damage 1d4 ⇒ 1 and sneak attack 1d6 ⇒ 5

initiative 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

GM

Wow, y'alls init is gonna suck :) Humm took the MW bow?

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

AYish chews upon her lip slightly at the risk Vrealk is taking for the party, but she stands straight and prepares herself for the combat to come. This time she will not be helpless, nor useless!.

Prepares spell.

GM

Heh I rolled lower then Vrealk

Vrealk lets loos an arrow burying it into a spiders flesh, the Spider gives off a loud hiss, soon responded by the other spiders as Vrealk runs as fast as he feet will carry him.

You wait aginest the walls hearing nothing as they approach, suddenly the sun is shaded above Celena's head as a monstrous spider looks down upon the party from the top of the wall.

Init

Vrealk=8
Ayishida=7
Spiders=5
Larrs=5
Markhet=5
Xerzayas=5

On the contrary, N'Djamena was too polite to suggest it, but he was thinking the same thing.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

Ayish looks up and gasps even as the monstrous spider looks down at them.

"Uhhh...Marhket...?" Ayish's voice quavers under the large arachnids doleful, multi-eyed gaze.

Playing up to the low initiative score. (^_^)

Markhet will cast guidance on Larrs and instruct the cat to attack the nearest target. If none are on the ground Larrs will delay.

Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 141d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Damage:1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 51d4 ⇒ 41d4 ⇒ 2

(Full attack just in case, use the first die result if Larrs needs to more more then 5 feet for the spiders)

Edit: confirming the critical: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

The Exchange

X could summon something to serve as a lure. I'll go with a dog. I'll cast Shield on Mamood before summoning.

Female Gnome Paladin 5

Realising it is suddenly gotten darker Celana looks up..."Ah didn't think of that." Is the only thing that comes to mind.

Wait to see what the spiders do before posting my actions

Male Goblin Fighter 1 / Rogue 4

Vrealk fires another arrow at the spider that appears above the party, then moves further out into the open space to allow room to maneuver.

arrow 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
damage 1d4 ⇒ 4

No, Celena has the MW bow. I get +5 from Dex, +1 BaB, and +1 for being small

Male Human Cleric 5
Celena Ashram wrote:

Likewise

GM

I guess Ayish is holding action then.

Vrealk moves out into the open space, firing at one of the spiders, then they are upon you. The injured spider charges Vrealk, wounding the goblin2hp, need a fort save DC 14
The next in line bits at Mamood, But the Eidolon fends it off. The next though the archway is crawling on the wall as it lunches itself at N'djamena , but is also fended off. The last spider jumps at Celena biting the Gnome2 hp need a DC 14 fort save

Seeing Celena bitten, Markhet directs Larrs to the spider attacking her who bits and claws at the spider.

Male Human Cleric 5

N'Djamena hits the spider attacking him with a divine smite from Tempest.

1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 71d8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Apparently, Nethys's blessing does not rest upon him at the moment.

Female Suli Bard 3/ Wizard 2

The great beast drops down and pounces on Celena. Ayish looses her spell at the creature.

Magic Missile:1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

With the cerulean bolt flying free, Ayish fills her lungs as she prepares to bolster the courage of her comrades.

At leas Ayish can't miss with this attack.
