"Markhet wonders if those stairs lead to more monsters," Markhet muses, unaware of the danger down the hall, "Markhet thinks mold would make a poor meal but this fungus might be tasty."
Ayish actually looks aghast and gasps in amazement and slight disgust at Markhet's spoken thoughts.
"You..you're not even serious? It's..it's...," She waves one hand in the direction of the mold, another before her nose to clear the stench of the fetid mold from herself, "...Disgusting." is the only epithet she can think of to describe the roiling mass of mold spilling from the darkness.
Ayish is where ever Markhet is. She with the large and powerful lion freind. *bows*
Markhet |
Did Markhet stay in the room with the stairs?
She poking around in there now, she's more interested in fungus and mold then the other boring things the others are up to. Besides the mold is in a strange shape so that's got her attention for the time being.
"Mushrooms are very tasty this one thinks," Markhet says, "some grow in the ground, others grow on trees, and some are poisonous, but Markhet has learned which ones to eat and which ones to avoid. She likes them raw or cooked. Mold is different though, Markhet wouldn't want to eat mold directly, but mold helps makes cheese and bread and even some meats very tasty."
Xerxzayas |
Mamood moves to attack the pugwampis, but is called back by Xerxzayas due to the severity of his injury. Instead he takes up a guard position to protect Xerxzayas and to intercept any of the pugwampi that might try to pass by him.
Xerxzayas summons a celestial riding dog right in front of the pugwampis.
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Vrealk pulls his sword and run across the junk laden kitchen toward the pugwampi's. Xerzayas calls upon help from beyond and a powerful hound appears near the pugwampis Celena makes her way across the room but stumble in a bit of bad luck into a shelf 1hp N'Djamena steps up calling upon the power of Nethys to heal most of Mamoods damage
Down the hall Markhet hears Vrealk's yell and moves toward the fight, Ayish close behind

Vrealk steps forward stabbing one of the pugs but seeming to just graze it, his blade having trouble pricing the creatures flesh as Xerzayas acid orb impacts into a nearby pugwampi burning the beast which soon after has it's throat ripped out by the hound Celens charges at one pug but unlucky is caught on some ruble and her aim is off
Will wait a bit to finish this round and see if the others post one bug dead

As Markhet and Ayish move toward the door The two puts strike, one trys and drawl his dagger, leaving himself open to Celena who drops him with a solid blow to the head. The other calls upon his innate power and Vrealks sword starts to vibrate, the goblin stabs at the creature but fails to land a blow
Ok new round, I used AoO's for Celena and Vrealk. There is one pug left and he targeted Vrealks weapon with shatter, so I'll need a will save..roll twice take the lowest roll. Map is more or less the same

Ok guys been a day so I am taking Vrealks and Celena's attacks as well as the AoO's the pug drew
Vrealk, sword still vibrating stabs at the pugwampi and hurts it but again it feels as if he barely hit, The dog misses as does Xerxzayas's acid, Celena's hammer and N'Djamena's javelin. However as the pugwampi trys to drawl it's knife the dog rips the exposed beasts throat out
OK end of that combat, I'll post current hp and xp soon and have a map up in a bit

Ayish sidles up to join the rear of the group, silently glad that she could give some small help a least.
As she stands next to the large and powerful figure of her brother she sighs softly, wishing that there were more that she could do even as she does her best to arrange her tattered silks.

Umm ... I was waiting for you to let me know if my sword survived or not. That would have had an impact as to what actions I was gonna take ...
Vrealk |
"Filthy vermin," Vrealk says, and spits on the dead pugwampis. He begins a cursory examination of the room, poking around a bit.

After that, he says, "Me thinks we should go back by where the hyenas attacked. We didn't look through there, yet."
Markhet |
"Markhet will remind everyone that there is still a set of stairs in the mold room," the gnome says, "this one doesn't think that the mold and fungus is being grown by anything, the door was too hard to open, but there could be another way into the room from another area. Markhet thinks we should be careful and worry about attacks from behind until we explore downstairs."
Vrealk |
I think we should finish this level before going downstairs. If the group wants to rest, I'm ok doing it either before or after exploring the next level. I just want to make sure that door gets closed if we do rest first.
Yeah, I tend to agree. Let's explore that one large area left here, and then rest for the night. We can try to get downstairs after everyone's back up to full strength.

Ok folks heading toward the gardens then.
Vrealk leads the way toward the unexplored middle rooms, you pass though the gloomy dim halls and pass the now fly blown dead hyena's as you pass though the arch's to the inner area. Huge branches and overgrown weeds clog the central open air courtyard of the monastery’s cloister walk. In better times, the monastic priests would have contemplated the open space
while circling the cloister, but today it is barely possible to see a few feet into the tangled mess, let alone all the way to the opposite cloister walk. Here and there the brush thins out enough that a dedicated explorer might be able to create a sort of passage, but mostly it is an impassable mess.
Actions?
Keeper of Forbidden Lore |
Forward it is then, Celena at point
The eastern cloister walk abuts what must be the outer wall of the monastery itself. The lengthy wall bears a marred sculpture depicting the five figures from the north cloister mural in battle against numerous creatures of evil demeanor. Several of the creatures appear to be composed
at least partly of fire, while others are much more difficult to define, being outright monsters of unknown origin or unusual warriors with weapons bonded into their flesh like organic tools. In the background Pale Mountain looms large, and over it two titanic figures lock in a deadly wrestler’s embrace. One has the demoniac visage of a noble efreeti, while the other is a gorgeous woman who could only be a djinni princess. Opposite the sculpted wall, a series of open arches leads out into an open-air courtyard.
Know history DC 17
This sculpture depicts the great wars of genie vs. genie that cast the Pale Mountain region into chaos hundreds of years ago.
At the end of the walkway you see two doors. The east room has a wooden door, while the western room seems to be some-kind antechamber with another room at the far end
Which room folks
Markhet |
"Look at all the plants Larrs," Markhet says following the others, "do you think there's anything to eat in there? Markhet thinks there will be stems and tubers worth eating . . ." Larrs quickly looses interest in the garden, "and probably some fat field mice," Markhet quickly adds, instantly regaining the lion's interest, "fun sized snacks for Larrs. We shall investigate the field later."

Ayish stops and stares at the large sculpture on the wall, lost in admiring the artist time and effort that has been put into its construction.

Marhket's words to her lion companion break the spell and Ayish pads along quickly to catch up with the rest of the others, a slight smile upon her face as she finds some cheer in the little gnomes antics.
