Intrest Check- An Elder Scrolls Adventure!

Recruitment

Howdy one and all. I have been away for a while due to some personal life things, But have decided tk come back and dipy toe back into the world of Online Role playing ;P

To start this off- I have an idea. After replaying much of the elder scrolls games I've decided to go with something along these lines.
I feel like I wanna run a PF 1e game using the spheres of power/might systems to help adapt the world a little better.
Now since the system used for play changes in almost every game- I feel like altering it to Spheres Pathfinder it wouldn't be too far of a stretch.
I wanna do a game shortly after the events of Skyrim (or at least after the dragonborn slays Alduin) where your players are in Cyradil, And in classic Elder Scrolls fashion- You're all Prisoners in the prison ;P in a very familiar Cell....

Other than that the main story will deal with your players interacting with the empire after Skyrim successfully took its Independence (Yes The Dragonborn supported the stromcloaks). However since dragons where not entirely secluded to Skyrim the empire is going to be dealing alot with that.

Overall however I'd like to keep the feeling of a traditional Elder scrolls game going on. And your characters will often be sidetracked and pulled away from the overall goal to complete tasks found on the sidelines.

Elder Scrolls and Pathfinder and Spheres...?

YOU HAVE MY INTEREST.

Hmm interesting. Will we get to be leaders of organizations? Cause god knows I've wanted to run a thieves guild forever.

consider me interested as well.

So I can start planning a character, what level were you thinking for start?

Elder scrolls? Interest piqued

Sounds cool! I’d love to get some more details to start working on a character.

Well, I want to just put this out as an intrest check, I'm planning on having my players start out at lvl 1 and progress at their own pace- Scaling things as I go.

I will have kinda two ways you can go about the main Story(Which will be about the Empire/Altimir Relationship), and several side stories inspired by quests from Skyrim/Oblivion/Morrowind that I'm sure some folks will be more than happy to revisit ;P

I'm gonna have to edit some rules regarding races and may have to custom race some of them (Argonians for example) and do some edits of other races.
For example: Khajiit may be known as Theives but they are actually more monk-like in their homeland. While Pathfinder Catfolk make a good proxy- The -2 to Wis makes less sense when dealing with Khajiit who more likely have a -2 Cha or -2 Con.

So for now It's just to gauge interest while i Scramble to put together each of the races stats.

As for meeting/taking control of the organizations- Its possible to do so, But I'm probably gonna have more than one player and therefore gonna be probably locking your overall control... It's gonna be alot harder to become leader than in the games ;P

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Khajeet has wares if you have coin.

So the idea of making something like a Yokudan Swordsinger really appeals to me, but the art of it, more specifically that of conjuring a Shehai, is considered lost. There are some who still teach the basics of swordsinging.

The root of my question is this, would you allow me to make a swordsinger-esque character and over time rediscover ancient techniques?

If not, I have tons of ideas for other characters. There’s a lot of Elder Scrolls content out there, and a lot of characters I’ve made over various games I can adapt.

Kobold Klan, I would PM you but you have that disabled.

Well, I never expected it to be easy. smiles

I don't know how this happened, I'll change it as soon as possible- If I figure out how... I swear I was sure it wasn't disabled....

Anyways- Yes I'd allow you to play a Swordsinger-esk player. :P the system spheres presents allows me to fenagle alot of the wierd magic rules Tamriel uses...

And progress on the races: Most are pretty simple and easy to convert- However the complexity comes when trying to translate natural element resisteces or Straight magic Resistance- Like how Nords- resist Ice and Dunmir resist Fire- or how Breton have a 90% Magic Resistence!
I'll probably just translate them into Energy resisteces 5-10 or something, Turn the Breton magic Resistance into a +4 saves against magic...

Now the Khajiit... THE KHAJIIT! By the nine- these kitties have such an odd backstory... It was confirmed in Morrowind I belive... Khajiit have over 10-20 DIFFRENT SHAPES all effected by their birth and the phases of the moons.
I'll most likely be limiting you folks to only 3 of the forms- those innthhe games. And those being Ohmes-Rhat(Humanoids with Cat ears/tails) Cathay-Rhat(The ones in Skyrim/Oblivion), And Surthay-Rhat(The ones in Morrowind)- It should be noted that alot of the different forms are just varrying sizes and shapes- Most share same physical stats- However some are full on Four legged Animals and others are hunched over Ogre-esk varieties...

Edit: You should be able to PM me now

I was thinking of using Champions of the Spheres, specifically the Prodigy class. That sound good?

I don't see any problems- Just be aware EVERYTHING in the world will be using similar Rules to yours, With some exceptions.

You will be dealing mostly with Cirodillian Momsters- So expect More Goblins and Zombies than Drauger and Skeevers.

Also- I will be editing vampires slightly- As Tamrielian Vampires are not... Well D&D vampires ;P
Mostly they will be alot less powerful... But it won't come up unless you go looking Specifically for vampires.

Becoming a Lycanthrope will also be different- as Hircine Kinda makes that almost Completely benifital- Except if you like to sleep and not be exaused all the time- or if you dislike craving to eat the flesh of other people.

Sleeping in TES is a bit more about XP boost than just Health and Stamina.

also need to work around the various Human and Mer races.

on another hand, how will you deal with the whole Talmor thing?

To just kinda cut into this for a second (also just noting real quick that I'd be interested to see where this goes) I'd think that being an Elder Scrolls/Skyrim Lycanthrope that you'd be better off using classes to represent it...

Since Champions of the Spheres was mentioned, I'd think that skyrim's almost totally advantageous lycanthropes would be either 1: Those with the Transformation Feat. 2: Shifters.

Interest...

Unfortunately this kinda isn't gonna work, As there are parts of the curse that can't really be well put into the games :P I.E. lycanthropes are constantly tormented with horrible nightmares- hence why almost every werewolf you meet in the games is a deranged maniac or has tired, baggy eyes. Additionally- Lycanthropes like the wereboar MUST devour the heart of 1 man/mer or suffer immense physical pain and craving.

Lycanthropy in Elder scrolls isn't all that dandy....

Anyways- The Talmor: You will be dealing alot with them- as I belive after Skyrim decided to break from the empire and start their rebellion, The Khajiit followed suit- however they where one of the original supporters of the Talmor. This is because the moons vanished for a few years for no known reason- and when they came back the Talmor claimed responsibility for bringing them back- the gullible Khajiit believing them.

Also at this time- Morrowind is still recovering from the red year, The tribunal falling apart, and Argonians raids from the black Marsh. The most peaceful place is probably hammer fell and highrock, Becuse the Redgaurd where always independent from the empire having broken away half an age ago.

But anyways- Seems there's enough intrest for me to start this fully- I'll get finishing up stats for each of the races ;P

Aren't the Talmor also enslaving the Wood Elves?

... how will you deal with kids?

and which faction events from Skyrim are canon?

The Exchange

Funnily enough I once created a spheres of power spellcaster specifically for an Elder Scrolls environment but never found a game for them.
Why did I make a character without a game? Haha, allow me to introduce myself.

But really, let me go dig up that old character.

The Talmor are enslaving everyone, They're dicks-

Kids- They are around, Like any other game....

Same. I'm absolutely going to submit.

HAIL SITHIS

I will admit that... I don't really know that much about Elder Scrolls lore, but I'll just say the general thing I want...

I want to play an Imperial (or perhaps breton since they're the equivalent to half-elves, though I imagine they're cyrodilian) archaeologist type (although probably not actually using the Archaeologist class). Perhaps a minor imperial noble's child who found their passion in life to be discovering and recording culture...

Assuming this took place somewhat directly during or after the events of Skyrim, they may have ended up in some major trouble down the line because whilst they didn't actively worship Talos. they took great pains to record and save the manuscripts of the worship of Tiber Septim. Even now he attempts specifically to find information, objects, etc. regarding this ancient figure, and possibly even attempt to prove whether or not he truly became divine.

Meant, are they unkillable?

If you have to ask, the answer is probably yeah.

Not sure if Daedra fit aberration... most would fit Outsiders more, with a few cases of Undeads and Constructs.

I'm running a live Pathfinder game right now and made homebrew versions of all the races and Birthsigns (i'm running an Oblivion-era game in Hammerfell). Not interested in really playing, but if you want I can send you the conversions.
