Case in point; one of my group went to a local con weekend before last with his teenage daughter. One of the events was a showing of "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". They were very excited because she had never seen it and they were planning to go. Then they found out showtime was 9:30 pm and they both decided that was too late to watch a movie. Whaaa?

Also I can't go to stores after that anyway...
Before they pulled out of Florida, the two local Albertsons supermarkets were open 24/7. If you didn't need to interact with anyone in the deli or bakery, it was awesome. So quiet, no idiots in the aisles blocking you. Just get in, get what you want as fast or slow as you'd like, and drive home. Perfect for popping in, grabbing a beverage and a frozen pizza when all the restaurants were closed. And the drive there and back had little to no traffic, and typically 15°F-20°F cooler.

Heh,
If I'm up past midnight, WHich is more often than it SHOULD be considering how much I'm griping about being tired lately, I'm either watching a movie/show I REALLY want to finish, or I'm playing a game. (Not enough of that recently, sadly)
It's not as easy as it used to be,... ;P
and the only 24/hr stores around me are Wal-mart (Which I avoid lately because of cruddy service, and I DETEST the self-checkout BS) and a couple of pharmacies.
Meh, I'm to the age where I actually appreciate sleep now. When I can get it. :)

Wegman's (local supermarket) is open pretty much 24/7.
I got a ticket once when I got the munchies at 2 am. Cop coming off a domestic call spotted me doing about 50 in a 35 (hey, I was hungry and the only car in sight). Gave me a ticket for "failure to change address on ATV registration" because I hadn't changed the address on my car registration after I'd moved the year before. Told me to call the town clerk and ask what I should do about this ticket, which I did. On advice of the clerk, when I was called up to answer the charge, and standing there with the judge and the prosecutor, I pled "not guilty". Judge says "on what grounds?" "I don't own an ATV". Judge looks at the prosecutor, who, crestfallen, says "I guess I don't have a case". "Case dismissed!" says the judge. :-)
I play Clan Lord from 10 to midnight at least 3 days a week. On those days, I rarely get to bed before 12:30 and sometimes later.
Walmart is for Walmartians. :-)

I'm having one of those days where I don't want to fail students, but I do want to run to the admin and say these kids are not allowed to be unsupervised adults.
I hear you,... I work with 'adult' college kids, most of whom in NO wise qualify as 'responsible adults'. ;P
And I need to get myself one of those t-shirts that says;
"Sorry, I can't adult today"
:)

I'm watching Youtube videos of a father and son team building a Saxon house using only hand tools. It is very interesting.

Hello, everyone! How's your Thursday looking?
Not too bad. At least its not Monday!
Seriously, LAst week I was SO busy/crazy, that I swear it felt like MONDAY for five days straight! By Friday I was crying, "Can it PLEASE just be TUESDAY already?!?"
;P
I am supposed to be off work today, campus mostly closed for Fall Holiday. BUT My uber-boss called a special meeting today for all of those in my classification. (Basically staff, not teachers) and he's buying us lunch.
That either means this meeting is going to be very good,...
,... or very, very bad.
>_<
Stay tuned to find out!

Went out with my mother for dinner and a movie. There wasn't any movie that particularly interested my, so I took her to see the Downton Abbey movie. It was okay, but not my preferred genre.
You should have taken her to Joker. I haven't seen it yet, but just the thought of you doing that makes me smile.

Really angry with myself. I live on a barely sufficient Social Security disability check, which is deposited in the early hours of the third day of each month. I paid my landlord the rent yesterday and just assumed he'd wait until today to deposit it because it was in the evening after the banks had closed. But he deposited it via an ATM machine which caused it to draw money from my account before the check was deposited, earning me a $35 insufficient funds penalty (my hatred of those and their unfairness is a whole other rant). It's not my landlord's fault that I got hit by the penalty, because I didn't specifically ask him to hold off on depositing it, so I have to just suck it up and hope I can stretch out what I have left after paying bills to last until the end of the month. I'm pretty hacked off at the moment and there's not a blasted thing I can do about it.

Welp. It's a good thing I'm incapable of feeling embarrassed.

It’s supposed to get that way soon here too. Which is good. I invented several twelve-syllable profanities when it hit 98 yesterday. Plants burst into flames, woodland creatures died in droves, and small children wondered if it was worth going on—whether this was the result of the heat or my innovative cussing, no one knows.
