Ironman / Tony Stark

Advice

I know its been done before/ asked about many times, but since its unlikely anything new will come out in terms of making it easier to make ironman, I am starting a rise of the runelord campaign and want to play Tony Stark/Ironman.

Stats are

str-10
dex-13
con-15
Int-19
Wis-13
Cha-16

I can probably move the stats around but I'd like to keep cha and int as is.

I was thinking arcanist and work towards getting create construct and making construct armor, as well as using a few levels of occultist to pick up some implements and maybe even make it a battle host with full plate since ideally you have numerous armors for different occasions.

traits would be spark of creation, deft dodger, and scholar of the ancients.

first exploit would be the sonic blast exploit to mimic his hand blasters, or the force missile.

First exploit should be something magnetic if you really want to be Tony Stark and follow his evolution. I suppose you'd have a Arcane Focus of a mechanical heart too?

Make sure you talk to the GM before the game starts. If he is cool with you designing custom magic items (which is essentially what a suit of Powered Armor would be) then things will work out. If he is like me and he is going to force you to use the Spell Research rules to create the blueprint for each new magic item...be preprared to spend downtime and lots of Gold to create your dream. You're gm might even require you to do Techromancy to create actual Powered Armor. That would require the GM to make appropriate Laboratories available to you since they are considered Artifacts.

My personal thought is that the suit would be several different kinds of magic items combined into one item. More or less a standard suit of Full Plate (make sure you pay for resistances!), magic gauntlets that let you channel spell-slots to create a limited set of spell effects, a helmet that gives you several sense enhancements, and maybe a ray spell. Boots that let you fly. Belt for standard stat enhancement. If you wanted to get an actual advantage out of the whole thing argue that the gauntlets, helmet and boots are "part" of the armor and as such the enchantments on them should cost a bit less. Like maybe the 3/4 and 1/2 discount that multiple similar abilities usually get. Yes, this item or series of items would normally get the 1+1/2 penalty instead but the player is trying to create something cool and thematic here instead of just something broken, so maybe a little encouragement would be in order. Especially since this armor by all rights should get in the way of casting spells, so technically is sucking up all of his gold and nerfing his abilities to the point that a straight arcanist with normal feats and a normal build will be far more powerful.

Synthesist Summoner might be a good rout as well

Synthesist summoner and you're done. Makes itself.

Your Eidolon is named Jarvis...

The synthesist summoner is a good idea but doesn’t fit Tony Stark. Yes he is charismatic, but I think of him as first and foremost a genius, thus making intelligent important for the character in creating the armor.
Also like the suggestions Meirril!

Honestly, I'd probably build Tony Stark / Iron man through use of the Kineticist class. The burn mechanic could be used fairly well to simulate the reliance on his current level of energy, and overcharging to do some serious damage. You should still be able to qualify for those crafting feats, and eventually make yourself some wearable constructs. Jarvis could be your elemental familiar. I'd go with electricity to start with, as it seems appropriate. Then air or fire, or whatever.

I would not use Pathfinder to build Tony Stark.

A reflavored alchemist (armor and gadgets instead of mutagen and extracts) could work. Bombs don't need to be reflavored.

Another option might be an occultist. Very few changes are required, with the implements/focus powers standing in for gadgets; the battle host archetype even allows the character to start with a masterwork suit of heavy armor (as their single "implement") at 1st level, although it's not as "powerful" as a normal occultist with the Trappings of the Warrior panoply.

If you can use third party, Dreamscarred Press Psionics has a class called Aegis, that is literally Stark in Pathfinder.

Alternately, a much more complicated, but fun and mechanical way to do it is the Tinker class, with the Ironclad archetype is easily the best interpretation.

Use weaponwand to store a wand of maximized magic missile in your gauntlet.

Grand Lodge

Faceless Enforcer (Vigilante archetype) suits Stark; especially with a set of Armiger's Panopoly.

In Psionics, you can be an Aegis. It's basically the same thing as the Ironman suit. Use a Feat at 5th level to get Expanded Knowledge for the Flight power, and you are now Ironman.
