I preordered the playtest softcover on UK amazon on the 10th of march, its shows there in my orders as pre ordered, however when I follow the link to the book in my order or do a search, it seems to no longer exist, does this appear so for anyone else?
I think you'll find that Amazon have sold all their standard Hardcovers and only have, Deluxe and soft cover atm. It's the same on the .com site. That could change tho.
EDIT: Misread, sorry! On .com it only shows soft and deluxe, maybe .uk is out of softcover allocation and .com hardcover? Basically I don;t know. I do know that some limited pre-orders from Amazon have been disappointed in the past, but hopefully Amazon have sorted those issues.
I am curious about the pre-orders for the Playtest books. Since these books are playtest does that mean that there will be a final release of the book(s) once the playtest concludes requiring the purchase of the new official 2nd edition books?
Yes, these books are only for the playtest. If you don't want to buy a print copy, they will be free downloads so you can still participate in the playtest.
The final rules will not be the same as the playtest rules, and new books containing the final ruleset will be released August 2019.

I'm in the UK. I ordered the book direct from Paizo because I don't trust amazon to get me a copy. Lots of people who preordered Starfinder from amazon had to wait for a reprint. There will not be a reprint of this book.
Same here, I'm in NZ and is cost me maybe twenty US more, but I don't trust Amazon for this sort of thing.
