Magnetic Infusion for Geo-(earth) kineticist?

I have read several guides and almost all of them state how great this is for a geokineticist.

I must be missing something.

For earth it works with metal blasts only right? So you have to double down on earth for level 7 to get metal blast.
Take Magnetic for your bonus talent cause you expanded your element in the same.

Metal blast is 2 burn as it is a composite. It's also physical, which you already have and so this doesn't help your accuracy.
Magnetic blast is 2 burn more...how many times are you spamming this? +4 to hit for your NEXT metal composite, assuming you want to spend 8 burn over 2 turns (before reductions) AND that your first lower accuracy metal blast hit.

With Gather Power and Infusion Spec 1 you drop this to...2 burn? Not seeing the all day or even all encounter capability here.

By level 7 your Elemental Overflow is +2 so you already have 2 burn. It could be 3, but of course your +2 con/dex makes that a wash.

Please explain how this works?

I guess you could throw a point from your internal buffer at it, and infusion spec 2 comes in at 8th level, but yes this looks like a limited-use tactic until 11th level.

That being said, if a Geokineticist expands into Air for an energy blast it is nice to be able to pick up magnetic infusion to spam with lightning blast before you'd be eligible to take it as an air infusion.

The bonus/malus isn't limited to what you personnally do.

For one round, anyone attacking with a metal thingy will get it - and assuming you're not adventuring alone, that's quite a sizable boon to most relevant weapons. Taking advantage of the reflex debuff is a bit tougher but your party should be able to have a couple of ways to do it if they want to.

Even if only once in a while, a 1 round +4 untyped attack bonus seems pretty good - martials will enjoy their iteratives hitting more, for one.
