Hello everyone! This is Yasu, a greatbow-wielding ranger! He's good at making enemies sprout very sudden and painful wooden limbs! (no really, he uses a large size bow, the arrows are almost javelins!)

Absolutely thrilled to be selected. I'm really pleased with how Wenona shook out (other than her avatar, can't really find one that looks even close to right), and look forward to playing her!

I picked my deity for the story elements and domains, but I could always get a buckler and go down the Unhindering Shield route (although PF never provided an equivalent to Improved Buckler Defense)... though Isabella isn't really built for combat, her deity just happens to have a fearsome favored weapon!


Very offense-minded crew sums up the vast majority of the submissions.

Once Talia checks in, I'll get the gameplay post up. Since they listed GMT+12 as his time zone, it's roughly 8:30 AM there, which means they probably haven't even seen they made it, yet.

Out of curiosity, what is everyone's timezone? I know everyone already posted this in the recruitment thread, but I'm too lazy to go look it up. Mine is Central time, currently GMT-5, will be GMT-6 here in about a month.

@Laufey: I'm not planning on focusing on any one weapon, other than being able to take a bit of an advantage with reach, and it looks like you're not really specializing in a specific weapon, either. Freely passing around whatever useful 2-handers we come across in the AP could be pretty fun/useful, and a nice alternative to the "I'm the sword guy, you're the axe guy" dynamic that I typically see in games.

Now I'm picturing you both tossing a single giant weapon back and forth in a single fight, like Cap and Bucky do with the shield in Civil War. I don't care if it's unrealistic, the image is awesome :D

And i can literally use big weapons too so sharing in melee shenanigans will be great. Though i suspect I would be hawkeye, if we are sticking to avengers analogies.

Sounds good to me. You're right, I'm not really planning on specializing in any particular weapon. I don't have all that many feats to work with, so there's not much point in specializing. I'll carry a bow, and later on I might start using a spear to take better advantage of disruptive and other such feats, but that's about it.


Excellent, everyone is checked in. Gameplay will be up shortly. We'll be starting with actually RPing the Swallowtail Festival, including several games. It's a good opportunity to meet some of the good citizens of Sandpoint and get some nice RP in.

I hope so! Laufey will find her very interesting as another half-elf. She's never been around any.

It's also funny how similar Wenona and Laufey are. I can see them becoming good, (and maybe competitive) friends.


I'm certain she is. I know I can get quite busy sometimes.

Regardless, the game won't end just because someone drops out. I have a wait list for a reason.

GM, just wondering, how do you feel about talking prior to your turn? For talking strategy, knowledge, and/or general banter. Also, how do you do knowledge checks? Can we get knowledge results before we take our action?

None of this is terribly important for this battle, as I don't think knowledge checks will matter too much against a goblin pack, just wondering for future reference.


Knowledge checks and talking outside of your turn are okay, as long as you aren't giving speeches.

For instance, if you were fighting an Owlbear, you could say, "Watch out for its claws, they can dig into you and hold you fast (aka grab monster ability)." You could not, however, give a detailed speech regarding the creature's origin, history, and other interesting facts you may know. Basically, keep it short and to the point, and I have no issue.
