The bad dice thing on these forums is seriously getting old. 3 of my last 5 d20 rolls have been 1's. Across my games my last 11 (now) rolls have me rolling a 1 more often than any number over 10.

The mystery vial does identify as magic, and I have noted it on the spreadsheet. You can take 10 to attempt to identify the magic ring, but a 19 is not high enough.

OK, lets try to identify both the vial and the ring with rolls, then:
Spellcraft, vial: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Spellcraft, ring: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20


The vial is a potion of cure light wounds. The ring (which you got on the nose) is a ring of protection +1.

From now on, if you can identify an item with a "Take 10", I'll just list what it is.

Yep, take the ring. I have no preference in loot schema. Usually the stuff that I want takes some saving so I'm not in a great hurry. This particular time I might wanna get a cold iron falchion if I can get a 150 gp share. Other than that I will likely be saving for healing items and better armor.
