I use Google Sheets for character sheets. You can either find some decent templates you can modify on d20pfsrd or make your own if you're handy with a spreadsheet.

Mythweavers (google it i suppose i don't remember full address) is pretty good for that
I would have said this, but it just wiped my character because the developer made an irretrievable mistake.
This is less good, but hasn't wiped one of my characters yet.

To be fair the person in charge of Myth-Weavers accepted full responsibility and is taking measures to ensure it'll never happen again, such as automating backups whenever a sheet is opened (iirc). I still think it's the best site for creating character sheets for free, but if you're worried about storage you can download the pages for each character you make.
Also, I second Pathbuilder. It's amazing.

I use a google drive to store characters basic info, feats, spell selection, ability scores, class abilities one has to choose in advance. I have like 17 of these most of them even converted for mythic, aside from occult classes. The doc is about 65 pages long.
Then when one of said characters actually might get to be played I make a myth weaver sheet, for the weight and encoumbrce and skills and to hit and CMD and stuff because it has algorithms that do s*%+ for you.
This way one doesn't have to worry about loosing all there sheets at once just the ones your playing (I know right? What a safe guard xD)
Myth weaver has only lost data once though as far as I know and it's a mistake they aren't gonna make again so I trust em.

The programmer for Pathbuilder was originally a stay-at-home dad that was doing it on the side. He tried to go the donation route but wasn't getting enough to survive. He then tried to make it a pay app ($5 i think) and the people threw a fit. He then tried to go back to the donation route but added a Patreon account to help. Finally he had to get a normal job to pay the bills and canceled the Patreon account. According to the email he sent out he is hopeing to get back to it by the end of the year.
The app was TOTALLY worth the $5 (probably closer to $10) that he was asking for. I didn't realize that it got pulled from the store. It's saved me loads of time.
