Has anyone got their subscription billing notice (not shipping notice) for this AP yet? Usually I get the "we're going to charge your card" notice within the first few days of the month; here it is the 8th and I haven't gotten anything yet. Just curious to see if anyone else has gotten there's; I'm really excited to get the first two books of this AP!!!

Anybody remember the good ole days, before Paizo's monthly schedule was as formal as it is now? It was great. You never knew when anything was going to happen and you could literally get an auth or shipping notice at any time.

But this way we get that sweet anticipay-ay-ay-ay-shun...

Just got an e-mail that these two will drop on the 29th of March.
Doug M.
The e-mail says that AP 115 and 116 hit the physical stores at 29th March. Subscribers will likely get their PDFs earlier, and there's no word on PG release date. Just so that we won't get a litanny of nerdrage here in a second ;-)
taks |
Subscribers get their PDFs as soon as their shipping email is sent, which will be sometime next week or the week after (shipping estimate begins on the 13th, ends on the 24th). Sadly, as Gorbacz notes, that has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. Argh.

I really like the fact that this book/AP is developed by four women and also stars four female iconics.
1. Does every developing lady have her own iconic hero and if yes, who is who? ;-)
2. Who writes the Player's Guide and when will it be available?
Thank you, Crystal!
First, the AP is developed by Crystal and me, she handling the adventure and me tackling the backmatter. We may employ women to write for us (and are doing so with increasing regularity), but the book is developed by a 50% male and 50% female team.
As for who writes the player's guide, it depends what information we need to put in it. Campaign traits are usually written by the adventure path's developer, while other background info like setting material or campaign-specific rules subsystems, are either taken from their existing sources or written by whoever is best suited to do so.
It should be available sometime prior to the first volume shipping, but that's largely dependent on our larger release schedule and when all the ducks are in a row (in the right order).
This is kinda the yardstick I'm going by, and if all their "ducks are all lined up in a row"
One can only hope and we see it very soon:)

Yes I know that taks, mid March was the old street date so many were expecting PDFs late last week or this week (before the date slipped), so all in all its a delay, but most know these things happen so not a problem for most.
This AP is not as hyped (noted and talked about here) as SA or RoA so less people are watching this but some of us just can't wait to see how this cool AP unfolds and get to play it.
My groups and I were just as hyped for
Giantslayer / dissappointed
Hell's Rebels / WOW, right on the money
Strange Aeons / bummed as I at least got in the wrong group and by module 2 they turned murder hobo and ruined the game for me and others.
Ironfang Invasion / ?? (Fingers crossed)
Everyone elses milage will vary as usual.

It's not that hyped, I agree, yet a few of us are rabidly awaiting it's arrival anyway.
I actually like GS, btw. HR, too, though whether we ever get to play it is in doubt. SA would be nice, but one guy in our group is really not into that genre. That leaves, IMO, the CoCT hardcover and Ironfang Invasion (I am running 2 groups, the "one guy" plays in both).
Our current campaigns (GS and MM) are on hiatus till at least June, and MM may never start back up, leaving one of the two options for an early July start. Long story short, my eagerness is a bit premature! :)

I just expected so much from GS and what I got......... could have been a LOT better, but that's the way it goes sometimes
Try HR, it is one of a kind so far in the AP line.
I GM at the moment
-Main group Jade Regent having a blast and on session 20 this week in Module one still no less,GREAT group of 6 players
-2nd group, Reign of Winter weekly group, some of the players come and go, as expected in Roll20, but on session 8 and about to assault the Pale tower, good group of 5.
- New group HC Curse of the Crimson Throne, just got this one started last weekend, 6 players went pretty well, every other weekend though but still works for my schedule
As a player
-Just got done with non Mythic Wrath of the righteous Module 1, quite an experience then onto Module 2
-And obviously (LOL) in this yet to be known date of Ironfang AP.
I usually GM so when something comes up I just have to play I start early, gathering like mided players and a GM, started doing that 2 months ago as I recall, so ya extra waiting is killing me a bit more than usual, player compared to a GM
I have no problem running (or playing)Modules from a totally unreleased AP myself, yes extra work and some stuff might have to be changed but in the end the fun of playing a brand new thing, and not seeing any reviews or gossip so one can have a totally unbiased first time run of it as it gets played really gives it that exta edge us old time gamers love.
Anyways if PDF's start up late this week for those special few then I would think the players guide might be midweek to.
If not I'll grit my teeth, calm my players and GM I gathered and wait another week or two, though it seems painfull at times, nothing any of us should'nt be able to handle.
Thanks for chatting here gang

Can you say what makes Hell's Rebels "one of a kind" without spoiling adventure 3 and later? I'm currently playing in this, and while I liked the first two adventures a lot, the prospect now of being forced to attend a decadent party and playing nice with these "nobles" in Vyre has soured me a bit on adventure 3. I'm not even really sure why we are supposed to be doing this, or how this debauchery would help the rebels in Kintargo, or why the "nobles" would even be interested in doing so.

The Vyre part is half of the adventure, and it's mostly Richard Pett doing a seedy debased city and weird food at banquets. As for the point of it all, well, that's a bit like going for independent Tatooine but leaving Mos Eisely out. It's always better to have the local wretched hive of scum and villany on your side rather than having it go bananas because you fire off some revolution and suddenly have an entire devil-worshipping nation against you.
If it bothers you, Vyre is just 1/4th of the adventure. After it you'll have one more, far less social, sidetrek and then you move on to <<REDACTED>> organised by <<REDACTED>> during which <<REDACTED>> will attempt to <<REDACTED>> Silver Ravens into <<REDACTED>> which will result in an epic <<REDACTED>> and is the point where the AP goes ballistic. Trust me, you'll like it.
Zaister |
Hmm, so is it half or quarter?
Anyway, well, we'll see, then. My character is kind of disgusted by the decadent city and doesn't really want anything to do with it. And I guess what bothers me most is that is seems so disconnected from the rest of the AP, especially coming after the already disconnected aquatic elf sidetrek.
Misroi |
I don't think it felt disconnected at all, Zaister, but as the GM, I have a skewed perspective. Basically, all of the side treks that you do in Book 3 is to limit the amount of support that Barzillai can call upon when the rebellion strikes. Allying with the aquatic elves makes it so they can't easily send their navy. Allying with Vyre makes it so they don't have a nearby port to use as a base of operations. Storming Menador Keep closes that gap and prevents them from sending troops up through the land route to Kintargo. Allying with the nobles gives legitimacy to the rebellion and much needed support in the ruling class.
Maybe the GM didn't do a good enough job detailing the reasons for the side treks?

The First module 1 PDF's shipped out so then the Players guide should be showing up SOON one hopes!!
Yep, for HR a lot is on the GM's back to have the players buy into all that is going on in every module of the AP, are you the only player having problems with this part or are others as well in your group?
Each player has their different takes on things but you will get through it, or god forbid have a chat with your GM one on one and tell him about your thoughts, I bet he can help with something interesting for you if this part is not grabbing you as much as it could/should I'd say.
