John Glenn passed away today, at the grand age of 95. He was the first American to orbit Earth, and years later at the age of 77 when he flew on the space shuttle, he became the oldest person to fly in space.
Would I be too bold to politely request that he's in some way honored in Starfinder? He, and many who followed, inspired my generation in so many ways.
Thank you.

With all due deference to John Glenn, why not Neil Armstrong, the crews of Apollo1, Soyuz 1, Voskhod 1, Challenger, and Coumbia, while we're at it? They're just as deserving, and unlike Glenn who got to live a long and full life, most of these folks were cut down in their prime, actually in the business of space exploration itself.

Good point.
A whole memorial fleet.

True, but just died so the pains of his passing are still fresh in our minds, so that is why we have singled him out in particular.

First post, also 24thed! I'm all about this.
...perhaps list whoever you choose to honor as creators of Absalom Station, but as anagrams. Perhaps Ilen Strongarm. In this instance, Nehln Jong. Or something along those lines.

Both of these ideas are great and I think we could combine them. Weave the honors into the story by using anagrams as the names of pioneers and explorers in the canon history of Starfinder. Also just state their names outright in an acknowledgements section next to where they often list inspirational reading and whatnot.

Mr. Glenn's passing is a horrible loss for not only America but the world. That said, while I wholeheartedly support the concept of honoring him and his life, let us also think, as I beleive he would, about honoring ALL the men and woman who have advanced the space programs around the world by their work, their bravery and sometimes with their lives.
Mr. Glenn, I believe, would have support the notion that the advancement of mankind into space would have been a unifying effort of great ambition that would have shown not only the best of America but the best of mankind.
These people exemplified the words of 'Ad Astra Per Aspira', "through hardships to the stars".
