The Exchange

Hello, all

I was granted to draw from the Deck of Many things. One of the card granted me 1d4 wished so the GM rolled I got 4 wishes. I've spent one wish so far. I am in need of help with some Ideals for the use of wishes.

What can I do to better for this Character. One: I was thinking of use some of the wishes and see if I can better my divine Bond? or should I hold on the wishes for later use?? I really need help with ideals for the Three wishes.

Is "pick the next result when I draw from the deck next" a valid option?

I have to advise against using a wish to mess with any artifact, even a minor one like a DoMT. That's just begging for trouble.

First, if you haven't done so already review the canonical list of wish options that are guaranteed to work, and their limitations. Second, note how very very very useful for butt-saving several of those options are and reserve at least 1-2 of your 3 remaining wishes for invoking them later. Resist the urge to blow them all on a +3 inherent bonus to your main stat.

Oh, but make sure your GM is not an evil sadist who will treat anything you say later that starts with "I wish" as invoking one of your saved wishes. If they are that type, use all the wishes now! In this case I recommend blowing them all on a +3 inherent bonus to your main stat. It's the best booster in the "guaranteed to work" category. If you wish to improve your divine bond a sadist GM is guaranteed to find a way to make you regret it.

Using the wishes to get a +3 inherent bonus to any stat could be exceedingly potent. Your Charisma would be through the roof, which means you are just that much harder to harm as a paladin.

The key isn't to wish for more wishes, the key is to wish for more genies!

;-)

use them for a +3 to dex,con and cha then acquire mithril full plate so you can use your full dex bonus then get eldritch heritage for either orc or abyssal and have +6 to str eventually

Wish that your wish will never be fulfilled, then laugh as the multiverse collapses into a paradox.

unless the simplest answer to that wish happens... and you just immediately die.

I wouldn't push it. Being a Paladin, if you want, what would your Character do if they had the ability to basically achieve 3 minor miracles? Self-gain, ostensibly to do further good better, or something more selfless?

Regarding wishes and yeah, not every DM will run you over, especially if you try NOT to abuse the wish system (in a fantasy universe, I doubt you'd be the first mortal to wish for a wish chain). Go for the small guaranteed bonuses that CANNOT come back to haunt you later, like the +3 ability score if you stacked the remaining three wishes.

Personally, with 3 wishes remaining... I would Geas the rest of the team into questing for what THEY believe is inherently good to them. Nothing like that LOL-Random CN Rogue ACTUALLY being forced to call on their Robin Hood act. Hope that the DM allows you to count as a Cleric for you to pull this off, as they do have access to that spell in the form of Quest.

Screw the bonuses, having the Paladin mind-screw the party into behaving as what their characters espouse is their idea of righteousness is comedy mithril, a win-condition in a game where having fun is the true objective.

EX: "Klepto, I impel you to crusade for your ideal libertarian society by founding one, nurturing it, and leading it... and remember that clause where you don't believe leaders would use their position for pleasure, profit, or personal safety?"

Transform one into 25k gold, use the other two to increase your Cha.

Wish for a casting of greater planner ally, planetar and ask for a year and a day's service, offer a wish as payment.

Is there a hurry to spend all the wishes right away? They would make some pretty great emergency options.

They must be used in a number of minutes equal to the number of wishes received. DM should grab a stopwatch and popcorn and watch the fun.

Right off the bat, Greater Planar Ally is above the duplication power of Wish (any non-sorc/wiz of 7th level or lower).

Then, the one year and a day's service is beyond the one day per CL of the spell, and the payment would be obscene for this task anyway (way above a Wish).

With the above in consideration, I'd argue the DM has free reign to pervert his wishes >:)

If you have to make the wish right away and can't save them, get gold(25k seems reasonable as that is the cost of casting the spell), the bonus stats, if you can save them, saving them is good.

Looking at your mount, it doesn't have armor does it? Asking for magic armor that it can wear is reasonable. It isn't unbalance and something you can get anyway but is probably a pain to find in town, so you save yourself a lot of trouble and an argument with trying to convince a shop keeper to make allosaurus armor.

Could also have greater magic fang casted permanently on your mount, so it would be like having a magic weapon when it goes around biting people. Something like telepathic bond would be interesting as well, then you can freely talk to your mount as much as you want and fully understand each other. Though these might not be worth it if you have an actual wizard in the party, since they could just cast these spells.

Simulacrum... make a genie.

As a GM I allow banking resurrections. "I wish the next party member who dies be brought back at full health at least 5 feet out of harms way.","I wish the second next party member...
