Martial/caster disparity becomes a much bigger deal, as does "Does the Paladin fall for this?" Antipaladin players are filled with regret.
Wizards sincerely regret the lack of gear, and spend their life savings to buy scrolls from low-optimized Sorcerers with Scribe Scroll, or crib notes from any Magus they can find. Soon, spells are online, and wizards are on top again.
High-level players are soon running things. Many people regret their enjoyment of low-to-mid-level play. Mythic is OP, but what else is new? (Clerics get spells from mythic characters now?)
Reaffirmation that Prestidigitation is the best spell.

Only Pathfinder? I would suddenly be a pretty awesome mythic bow paladin with a bunch of crafting feats. Also, depending on how thorough the changes are, I might also be a female dark elf (though not a Drow, because dark elves were different in this campaign and were a LN race, similar in culture to the Old-Kingdom Egyptians).

Almost everybody who plays Pathfinder would become much less charismatic, a handful would become much more. Almost nobody would retain their average charisma.
I'm solid regardless of what character I ended up being. I (almost) never dump stats on proper characters I play.
At the very least I could always go out and kill things until I get more charismatic (always found that aspect of XP odd)

I'm new but the lowest Charisma character I have made so far (but not played yet) has 8 Charisma. Which is probably not lower than my real life charisma. So I would at the very least not lose charisma. And I would definitely gain strength like wow.
The only character I have actually played at all at this point is a half-elven celestial blooded sorceror. I would save so much on my electricity bill with the light cantrip. And hope to learn mending to save so much on my wardrobe.

So I get to have an Eidolon and magical powers? Life is good.
I'd spend my time seeking my peers, comparing companions and evolution techniques. That and explore the fact that HOLY CRAP NONHUMAN SENTIENT BEINGS ARE A THING and see where that particular bombshell takes us. We would even let our "unchained" counterparts in on the fun.

Do I get the one I invested the most in?
Woo, Level 20 Gestalt Ninja/Sorcerer, Mythic 10 Trickster/Archmage, Post-Mythic Greater Deity-equivalent (Queen of all Fey)!
It was a very long campaign, spanning thousands of years and resulting in the player characters forming the primary pantheon of the next game.
My character's conclusion was quite satisfactory: Xenarchy Triumphant :)

If you open it up to 3.5 as well, things get weird. At that point I'm either an epic level monk/kensai who is both angsty and blind, an epic level elven Druid who lives in Ravenloft, or a mid-to-high level human rogue/mountebank with an insanely high UMD who tends to pose as a cleric of Pelor (and is also a serial murderer)
Oh, and that monk is also a god, though the campaign ended upon achieving divine status.

Well, that's kind of a weird tough premise and I'm not sure how to approach it.
The highest level character I have would be my (Copper Draconic)Sorcerer/DD from the home RotRL campaign (at L17) who, after finishing the campaign had started her own chain of 'Rusty Dragon Inn' franchises across Varisia and was married to Shaylis Vinder, with Orik Vancaskerkin as a loyal retainer/bodyguard, a human child, and a dragon child (because of shenanigans)...
The highest level character in PFS play is (by one third of a level)Rae Alain Paight, a human bard who looks like a beardless Jonathan Frakes and performs like a young Phil Collins.
The next highest is my PFS -1, Wei Ji, a Slayer/Cleric(Irori) tengu...
However,
Arguments could be made for: Gibbs, tengu Bolt Ace/Freebooter; Karasuma Tazou, tengu roguish lawyer; Andrietta Ebonfeather, tengu 'grandmother' tengu paladin; Estara Potts, my half-orc telekineticist; Brigid 'Half-Human' Thundertone, half-orc bard (raised by a Torag devotee)...
What sort of qualifiers or criteria would make the determination?

What these sound like in a warped way is common superhero origins.
I mean now that people can suddenly shoot a bow at 3-4 shots every 6 seconds, call down lighting, have dangerous animal companions etc.
Think about all the Murder hobo players who would be empowered.
And I decided only pathfinder rather than D&D of various versions because of the notoriety it would bring Pathfinder. I mean the tv interviews with Lisa Stevens or James Jacobs when they have to explain this would be interesting. I think it'd be fun though to extend it back to anything by Paizo.

I'd suddenly become super buff, learn how to play drums, and become a commanding presence. My voice would sound clearly over just about any noise and inspire acts of heroism and courage from those who heard me. My very command would help others shake off disease, avoid hazards, and withstand spells. My attacks would also demoralize the enemy and decrease their ability to resist spells and debilitating effects, and I'd be able to help my allied spellcasters easily pierce spell resistance as well.
Order of the Staff Tactician Cavelier w / Arcane Duelist Bard 8 / Battle Herald 10, hands out up to +10 attack and damage to allies and uses Cornugan Smash and Riving Strike to decrease enemy saves. Plays and sings Thunderstruck by ACDC all the time.

I would suddenly get breasts...
Is that ever a bad thing? I get to be unspeakably awe-inspiring. Charisma near 50. Most other stats at 30 or higher. :)
Also, since my character is of deific-equivalent quality, do I get to bring my Realm of the Fey with me? It is full of fun times, beautiful splendour and maybe some horrible things. :3
Does this segue into the 'what if magic showed up in real life' thread?

I just realized that I would have even more problems than I already do trying to handle most modern technology. My current character is an oracle with the Wrecker curse. I would have to be careful not to hold my cell phone while trying to do anything at all with it.

I see "manifest abilities of your character" to mean you get the powers, ability scores, levels etc, not that you become your character.
The thing is "abilities" can be contingent on physical form. For example, if you have a prehensile tail, that's an ability, or wings, or other unusual features tied to abilities. Where do you draw the line?

I see "manifest abilities of your character" to mean you get the powers, ability scores, levels etc, not that you become your character.
That would eliminate the big problems of your character suddenly taking your place. In addition to the obvious problems if your character has a non-human appearance, even a human-looking replacement would have the problem of not looking like you or being able to access your identity or history to function in modern society.
I guess the main question then would be whether you would lose any abilities, as most of us have things that we can do that we are pretty sure that our player characters lack the ability to do for one reason or another. If we could do everything we could do before plus whatever our characters can do, there would only be varying degrees of net gain.

I just remembered the best part of being Xenarchy. I get a kitty!
Malaclypse is a good fuzzy friend and also a shapeshifting bard/master spy, acting as herald.
On the other hand, does this mean the rest of my party is in the world? One chose the magepunk-cybernetic undead Tarrasque as his herald. It could be a problem roaming around the place.

OP?
What happens if our emotional attachment is situational?
I had not thought in those terms, but I was thinking about in a one moment in time type thing. As in you are really attached to Joe the lizard man you might just become Joe.
Thinking about in my own terms, I thought of all my characters (my job had me moving all the time, so I played a lot of PFS) and on these forums I became a big defender of original summoner open flavor. I thought of all the thought I put into the characters (things like, what is it like to grow up half elf) and how I felt about them. From there it just kinda came together.

Hard to decide what character I’m “most emotionally attached to,” but looking at the most likely possibilities…
Gender change is highly likely (possibly as a mahou shoujo) – which would probably make interactions with acquaintances awkward, but better Charisma should hopefully help smooth that over (or inquisitor’s WIS-based diplomacy).
Wisdom probably drops like a rock, resulting in a complete lack of common sense and perceptiveness.
Horns and/or other demonic features become extremely likely as I play a lot of tieflings (though changeling is also possible). Darkvision is a joy to have, as is that handy prehensile tail (which will probably take some getting used to). Inevitable real-world discrimination as a result of being demony is likely much less enjoyable.
Having magic is awesome… until I actually have to keep track of all the small stuff I have to get for a spell component pouch & then get jealous of all your high-level characters considering I’ve only had one character reach 4th level spells and many have yet to learn 3rd level spells… Would probably end up spending all of my money trying to beg high level wizards to scribe scrolls for me to learn off of as a result.
Luckily, Craft Wondrous Item should be an amazing feat to have since I’m sure non-Pathfinder players (now normal people) would enjoy getting magic items just as much as everyone else. New day job – Magic Item Crafter.

Okay, boiling down the candidates then, in order of last played...
1. Estara Potts, F 1/2orc 'Technician' (Telekineticist, inspired by Pepper Potts in IM3) Dark Archive
2. Andrietta Ebonfeather, F Tengu Grandmother (Paladin follower of Grandmother Crow) Silver Crusade
3. Zykon Gibbs, M Tengu Bolt Ace/Freebooter (Inspired by Gibbs from N.C.I.S.) Liberty's Edge
4. Rae Alain Paight, M Taldan Bard (Inspired by conversations on the board, looks like beardless Jonathan Frakes, performs like Phil Collins in the '80s.) Liberty's Edge
While the list is narrower, still hard to pick from those four, and I'm working from the 'complete package' not just the skillsets
'attributes' being taken in this case to mean all of the character...

My race wouldn't change, though my gender would. I'd also have a reputation as the Grim Reaper, though my horse would not be pale, but black as a night full of stars. On the other hand, my needs for food, drink, and sleep would be gone and I'd live forever, traveling the world. Not a bad trade at all.
