So far, the ONLY time that was possible was in Drow of the Underdark, from WotC, as a Cavestalker (PrC).
Using any of the Pathfinder rules, is there a way to wield a spiked chain one-handed... in a reasonably adequate manner?
Long story short, I plan to have a NPC being a vigilante of the Serial Killer archetype... who also happens to own a Hooked Massacre (a magic spiked chain which lets use it a Reach weapon in addition of granting you a free attack if you Drag the target.) Combined this with a second weapon, this could be a good combo.
At the very best, I use an overweight chain-wielding gunslinger known as the "Road Hog" XD

A spiked chain? I don't think so. Well there might be one or two Fighter/Barbarian archetypes that allow something similar.
Now if you were talking about a dwarf wielding a dorn dergar (a ball and chain with adjustable reach that can be wielded with either one or both hands) that's another matter. It "might" take investing something like 3 feats to do it properly but it's pretty impressive when pulled off correctly.

The closest we get is the Dwarven Dorn Dergar with a couple feats.
Alternatively, whip proficiency + scorpion whip proficiency gives you the reach one-handed, but it doesn't allow attacks of opportunity, so you might not be interested.
Sadly, spiked chains got nerfed hard in pathfinder, and the few abilities that worked with them specifically were not copied over.
One way (the only way) to do it would be to take two levels of Titan Mauler barbarian for Jotungrip. You take a -2 penalty on attack rolls, but otherwise it does what you want.

It's outside the box but legal is this. There are rules for creating new weapons. Simply make a Spiked chain a one handed weapon as it was in third ed.
Thta is a possibility, as is the possibility to "strip" the Hooked Massacre's enhancement and apply it to another weapon, such as a scorpion whip. That wasn't out of the question, but I wanted to survey my opinion without going too much out of bound ;)
