I'd be interested in playing, at least in a 2nd edition game, but I don't think I'd be up to GMing.
What sort of ideas do you have? What system are you familiar with?
:( I only have the 3e rules.
What sort of game are you looking for? Any particular age or genre? I only have the third edition books.
I'm open to any age or genre. Though I'm more inclined to a "traditional" superhero game.

A giantess that feeds off fear in order to grow. Basically when she had that major "discover their powers" event, it shrunk three people. Rather than let them go, where they probably would be killed, she took them in. They fear her, even though she prevented them from dying. Her mission is to find a way to return them to normal size.
Now that I think about it, she probably won't fit in a clear black/white world.

2 people marked this as a favorite. |

I am currently running a second edition campaign that could probably benefit from some re-recruitment. Things have been a little slow, but we have some very committed players. It is called Justice League Generations, a campaign set in the future of the DC Animated Universe.
I have both second and third edition, and I prefer 2nd edition. Third edition is more streamlined and maybe more balanced, but also not as versatile, I think.
If anyone is interested, we can talk here.

I'd be interested in joining up too, but to be honest my knowledge of the DC universe is limited (I'm more of a Marvel guy). I could work that into my background, say, being a displaced being from another dimension or something, just figured I should throw that out there.
What's the power level?
Looking at Karaoke it seems like 12. Nice character concept, by the way, I'm assuming you're some sort of heir to Lex Luther?

Why thank you, GypsyMischief! =)
Yes, we were encouraged to tie our origin to some minor alternate-universe thing in the DC universe. Apparently it's cannon that Lex and a lady named Cat Grant made some romance. My twist was that the romance was...productive. ;)
And really, I got all that just from the Wikipedia entry. So just pick a character you like and spend 5 minutes reading their page. You're bound to find something. =)
Although that would be funny!
"Wait, so, you're like the X-men or something?"
"Who?"

Regarding Dc knowledge and character concepts: the setting is called Generations because it is set about 30 years after the mainstream timeline, and we have taken the DC Animated universe as a rough canon. That being Batman the animated series, superman, and the 2 Justice League shows. Deep knowledge of DC continuity is not required. If you can identify the main Justice leaguers, you are fine. I would love for characters to have some sort of legacy hook to a DC character, in the way that Batman Beyond worked or in the way that Ms. Luthor is the daughter of Lex.
Feel free to post stuff here for builds and ideas. Pam me with anything you want to keep secret. I will be back Saturday afternoon.

I am a MnM 2nd edition GM in my area and would have no issue running or playing in a Game here on the forums since I have the summer off from work to focus on such things (well almost all summer)
I tend to like four color style campaigns when I run but I can run a dark gritty street level game.
For street level PL 6 is nice but Hero High does have it perks and I have run some successful street games at PL8
Legoguy- you certainly have an interesting Origin/power for your character.
So basically you have growth (Permanent, innate)
but the more important I'm guessing is Boost (Growth) with the emotional limitation with Fear. Kinda like this.
Growth 4ranks (Permanent, PF Innate) {makes one large size)
Boost(Growth) 12 Ranks
[Extra: Total Fade, Flaw: Self Only, Emotional (Fear)]
So around several scared people the character would grow to Huge Size about right?

Legoguy: So you grow, gain power from causing fear, and have three tiny people in a container of some sort? I'm intrigued by the idea, but it does sound a little bit like a villain. What is your relationship with these people? And why would you carry them around if you like them, it seems like that would put them in danger. Or maybe they are shrunk so small that the world can't affect them? And you are the only one who can hear them?
I'm mostly wondering what the rules and role playing ramifications of these tiny people are.
We did have a size changer on the team, but I'm not sure if she is still around.
Michael: We have room, we have lost some interest since we started. What do you have in mind?

Hopefully, it is all explained in my background. New and improved!
She was part of an growth serum experiment done by LexCorp. A 0.1 milligram overdose of one chemical in the serum made it so the serum needs chemicals that emit when someone near is scared. When they injected the serum into her, the reaction with an unknown chemical in her blood resulted in a burst of energy, shrinking three top scientists near her. LexCorp needed those scientists, so they "reprogrammed" her mind to a singular goal: Go to *insert where the PCs final destination is here* (I'll read the gameplay to find where that is) and find the source of energy that will turn then back.
How it works: The people are
probably very small that the world can't really affect them.
The other reason is that she does not let anyone come near them, so she can't keep them anywhere, because she thinks someone will come near them.
I was thinking they could be treated as a "plot device" item
If this seems to villain-y I'll be willing to change it.

I have several ideas for characters and right interested in what you have that is still active and what the group could use. I've mostly played low power leveled Styled characters but from what I've read in the game so far, it seems you have a few of those. I know Time Travel itself is off the table but what about Temporal Powers themselves?
The idea came from the first reading which was a character that couldn't age similar to Randal Savage but controlled time, but due to his own Immunity to Temporal Effects couldn't actually travel through Time. (well not under his power anyway)
Even had an idea for a child of Superman and Maxima (Despite her role in one show I get the feeling she wouldn't be above a few Talia style maneuvers to get the man of steel and when they failed simply forget her charge some where, such as military training camp)

What we have now is a telekinetic,
a flying blaster who is always made of plasma and can't change back,
a woman who is telepathic and sometimes insubstantial,
a powered armor techno wizard
Those are the ones I'm sure are still around.
The Maxima/Superman idea is better to me. The group lacks a flying brick, which is pretty standard fare for the Justice League.

Have to admit that is pretty standard fare for sure indeed. Alright I'll work out the stats and post them up.

Looks great Leggoguy!
Just one question: Do you know Imagine? (I'm thinking that even if you don't...she knows you. ;)
********
scene: A handsome man in a white coat stands and read off his clipboard to a young woman. While his mouth moves and forms words like normal people, her lips do not deign to make sounds. Her voice echos in his mind directly.
"I have the report ready for you, Ms. Luthor."
'Go ahead, honey.'
"Ahem, yes. We're increasing the next dosage of Mentisanimus from 7.6 ug to 7.7 ug, while adding a dosage of Incresco. This is, of course, against my recommendations, since Incresco has been known to activate latent psychic powers, and might have -violent- reactions in contact with adrenaline and other chemicals found in an active sympathetc nervous systems."
'Honey, I know. Who do you think ordered the tests?'
***later***
'My darling daughter. There's been an accident with the Incresco test. I need someone's mind changed.'
'I'll get right on it, daddy.'

I'll run the numbers tomorrow and see if I find anything problematic.
Paragon: I'm going to have some rules questions once I look into it, but the most important thing I see right now is that you need descriptors for your powers.
As a thought, and totally just a suggestion, but what if the growth isn't physical growth, but more an energy construct. So you are wrapped in this glowing, maybe semi translucent version of yourself that is maybe monochromatic or something. That is just a thought. Something to set you apart from other growth based characters.

That's a great idea!
I'll flavor it as her using the "fear energy" (what should it be called?) and "shaping it" into a bigger version of herself.
