I got my box today and am now even more excited to see eventual Quinn. A character who scouts and somehow WANTS to encounter barriers? Sign me up for an investigator class deck stat!

Well now we have something like 6 promo cards that really needs characters to go with.
Not a fan of Eastern Hayato or Reiko, but I'm waiting for Kess, Quinn, Hakon and Zadim (if I have my list right).

Working on it!

Huzzah!

I'm still waiting for mine. Has anyone got a link to see the cards? So curious.

Speaking of the Iconic Heroes set, was there 7 boxes officially planned or just 6?

Just 6. Paizo has said they would like to do more but it's ultimately Wizkids' call (depending on how sales do and their other projects).

Hopefully they did as well as they needed to continue, I want my Occult iconics, my Evil iconics, I want EVERYTHING!

Yeah, after seeing the Investigator's card I can't wait for the Investigator. That's one of the strongest promo cards that I've seen.

What are its powers?

Pathfinder ACG Developer

It's a super magic spyglass that lets you encounter a barrier if there is one. Also recharge if you're an investigator.

The downside being that I believe it requires you to encounter a barrier if you find one.

Pathfinder ACG Developer

True enough. But who doesn't like encountering barriers? ;)

Seelah and Pit traps. Nuff said.

She is a pit trap magnet, isn't she. I also have this problem.

Keep smiling, keep shining, cause that's what shields are for!

The Poison Spiked Pit Trap deals damage twice, so you need a shield _and_ another piece of armor!

Or Seelah's helm and low damage rolls.

Wouldn't that be playing two armors on one check though?

No. Each damage roll is resolved seperately.

It is not the check that deals the damage. It is the powers of the card resolving the failed check. Checks against barriers never deal damage.

Pathfinder ACG Developer

Shields often let you play them with other armors, too.

Only 6.

Not sure that Wizkids and Erik will produce any iconics before Deadly Foes, which is "Expected approximately October 2016."

I was going off the discussion on the bottom of this thread:

http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2szhc?Wrath-Deck-5-Barrier-SPOILER#1

But maybe I'm misinterpreting something... So, I can play the same type of card (Armor, let's say) to counter each separate instance of damage, even if they come from the same 'source'?

I think I was wrong.

Looking at that thread, the argument is made that the damage from the barrier occurs in the "Resolve the Encounter" step of the encounter.

If a character can only play 1 card of each type in the "Resolve the Encounter" step, they could only play 1 armor to deal with the damage from the Poison Spiked Pit trap (unless the armor they play says another armor may be played.)

Clarification on Poisoned Spike Pit Trap and armor playing.

For those who have acquired, any thoughts on Lem? Compared to the amazing detail on the other 35 minis, Lem seems a bit primitive.

Also, I'm curious about his card. Is it the flute?

I could wait a couple of weeks and find out my self, but I'd rather grovel for details, thanks.

Silver Crusade

His card is the flute. I don't remember what it does. I'll try to look for you when I get home, if no one's answered by then.

Many thanks. What'd you think of his miniature?

Silver Crusade

I did not have strong opinions on the miniature. To be honest, this box was mostly "OMG QUINN" to me. Daji was the only other card to stand out to me, because Feiya can count his AD number as 1 higher than the current scenario.

Oooooh. Scaling Fox!

If you have the Bard trait, display this card. While displayed, you may add 1d4 to a check by a character at your location. At the end of the turn, recharge this card.

Can one of the awesome people who has it to let me know what seltiyel's promo is?

Grand Lodge

I know it's an Elven Scimitar, but that's all I've got.

The Elven Scimitar had a decent combat power (Strength or Melee + 1d6+1 and discard for another 1d6+1) and also if you are a Magus can be recharged to succeed at your check against a spell.

Silver Crusade

Okay, I looked at my minis now. Lem's face is a bit odd, and his neck angle is weird, but I'm okay with him. I find Seltiyel to be the dud in this set, mini-wise. He's so... Grey.

Thanks! To be fair, Seltyiel's kind of a gray character...

Silver Crusade

Hate to necro a thread, but Lems lute lets him recharge it for 1d4 to a check. I do not understand how that is any different to recharging any other card for 1d4 which he can do???
I understand he can display it, but doesnt that go away too? does it stack or something? I am confused, please help me understand what I am clearly not understanding. :)

BTW, the minis are awesome and so are the cards. neat idea.

Yeah, I was taken aback to, at first. But the thing is, the Flute *does* stack with Lem's own power, so you can essentially add 2d4 to a check.

Awesome, thanks!!!!! it makes a bit more sense now :)

Afaik, you can also add the iconic promos to their respective class deck, so that the other characters may use them as well (I'm sure hawkmoon has a link ready). Meliski, for example, lacks the 1d4 buff.

Grand Lodge

Also, Lem's power usually (I believe there's a Lem Role that alleviates this) specifies ANOTHER character at your location. He can use the flute on himself.

You never cease to amaze, hawkmoon.

So now that we have MM released, I was surprised that we still have 4 characters from these packs that are not represented in the game. Also we have character in MM that did not get this treatment. Has there been any discussion on Wizkids creating more of these, and any news on where the other 4 characters come in?

There are 5 Iconics Heroes minis that don't have PACG characters yet: Hakon the skald, Kess the brawler, Hayato the samurai, Quinn the Eskimo investigator, and Reiko the ninja. But no, we haven't announced when or where these characters might appear.

WizKids also has yet to announce further Iconic Heroes sets, but we have quite a few iconics that still need Iconic Heroes minis: Yoon the kineticist, Mavaro the occultist, Estra the spiritualist, Rivani the psychic, Erasmus the medium, Meligaster the mesmerist, and Aric the vigilante (and/or his Red Raven alter-ego). Of those, only the first three have PACG characters, all in MM.

There has been nothing official yet.
The 4 new characters in MM, are not strictly "Iconic", so take that as you will. If a new "Iconic Character" pack is announced, my money would much rather be on the Goblins anyway. Also, there are now Evil iconics, which may or may not take precedence to the MM non-iconics (I'd rather they would, if that means we get to see them in PACG any time soon).

There are actually 5 characters that haven't appear in PACG yet - Quinn the Investigator, Kess the Brawler, the Viking Bard, Hayato the Samurai, and Ninja Girl. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that the last 2 will be introduced in a Jade Regent set, whenever that may be. No idea on the other 3.

EDIT: Eh, ninja'd yet again. Vic seems to be spending too much time with Reiko and/or the HawkAI...

Even if the Iconic Heroes line doesn't continue (and I really, really hope it does), I hope more card game characters will appear in the Pathfinder Battles line so I can buy them as singles. I snatched up Radillo, Ranzak, and Merlinda as soon as they were available. I'd do the same fro Drelm, Yoon, Channa Ti, and pretty much any character that appeared there. Heck, if they put all of them into a single set, I might even be tempted to buy a brick or a case or whatever it is called.
