Had a single player drop out of one of my two Savage Worlds Fallout games. They take place in Florida, between part 4 and New Vegas on the timeline.
I'm willing to open up for one...maybe two...players, but understand this:
WE POST FREQUENTLY!
This is why our player left. 1/day will not cut it. Average seems to be 2-3 times a day, some more, sometimes less for holidays, but if everyone else has posted, I don't like to leave players waiting, so after 12-24 hours if it's a combat and we're waiting, you'll be botted.
I have a whole set of rules I made for SW to convert Fallout. It's been a labor of love, and my players seem to love it.
Here is the game you will be joining if you are selected. Since you obviously won't be Vault Dwellers like the rest, I have opened up Super Mutants and Ghouls as playable options in addition to humans
I want concepts, post frequency, and how you think you can fit in the team before I want builds. I'll help you with that if I choose you.
Feel free to ask any questions. If you didn't make the game before, this I your chance!

Hrm. Despite not having any Savage Worlds experience and my Fallout experience being pretty much limited to New Vegas, I have to say I'm intrigued.
Concepts: For the record, I really like ghouls.
1).Ghoul Scientist who's trying to make enough money to get into the Disneyworld Underground
2). Ghoul Mechanic who had to ditch town from Daytona.
3). Ghoul boxer that wants to beat most wasteland animals to death with his hands. Mainly because he's been alive for quite some time, and is bored to tears.
Post Frequency: Starting next week, I will have far more time to post. Multiple times a day should not be a problem.
How they'll fit into the team: Regardless of which concept I wind up going with, he's going to be a congenial sort. They'll get along with people, though due to his/her mildly off-putting appearance, people may not always like them.

Well son, grease me up and tie me to a Vertibird!
Funny enough, was lurking the Recruitment forums in between loading screens of Fallout 4 and what do I find?
Recruitment for Fallout!
*ejem* Enough of that, I dissert. As mourge40k I have between zero and minus 1 knowledge of Savage Worlds... on the other hand I'm reaaaally eager to embrace the wasteland and earn some fresh caps.
So let's go into detail, but take into account that because of my poor knowledge of SW some of what I'd like to play may be impossible/high level/strange. That said I'm a fast learner and don't mind reading core rulebooks if needed.
Concepts and Team " Fittability "
Big Papa. A former BoS heavy gunner that ran away after facing the hard truth: the knights and paladins ain't no heroes, just scrappers. He joined the Brotherhood to help the wastelanders, but the Brotherhood had other plans for him. He is now trying to remake his life, looking for a job focused in either of his three loves:
a) Fixing and customizing stuff
b) Talking his way into caps and outta problems
c) Achieving peace through superior firepower (i.e. Letting Scarlett the Minigun do the talking)
I'd like to have a Power Armor, but that stuff is hi-tech and probably a bit too much, so either he will try and get one on the long run or maybe his old power armor is broken and only serves as regular armor/cosplay.
I imagine him being cold headed and calm, trying to talk shit down first (afterall if you ware the one who usually gets shot first you'd tried to avoid it) but laying waste in full auto glory if chit chatting doesn't work.
How will he fit with the party? He's a papa bear. He cares for others, will fix your stuff and make it shot faster, better, harder, stronger and he'll take the bullet for you. He's made to fit, because that's what he really really loves to. Even more than Scarlett
[i]Rodrick "Hot Rod", the Ace of Spades[i] After HR was banned from every table from the Strip to Primm he found out that gambling wasn't only in the cards and spinning wheels. He turned to a life of mistery, adventures and chance, travelling the Mohave in sesrch of his next dose of adrenaline and gambling. Armed with impossible luck, his trusty gun, Dice, and his flashy laser rifle, Slice, HR knows that the Wasteland still has some surprises for him and that one day he'll be remembered as the King of Gamblings, He Who Gambled It All
How will he fit with the party? He's a player, but he knows how to be a team player. HR is out there for caps, glory and the thrilling sensation of knowing that you can die on the job. But he is good at heart, for he knows heroes are better reminded (even if harder to make a name) than villains.
Well, for now that's it. I'm really fond lf Big Papa, don't know why.
Post Frecuency
I work during weekends for sure and some days randomly assigned, but the most I spend between my breaks is 4-5 hours, so expect me to post as much as possible (depending on the other players posts from 3 to 6 times) when working and as much as needed when not.
Hope my wasteland enthusiasm wasn't too much, but is hit or miss, where I live is already hsrd enough to find roleplaying groups so a Fallout game is something akin to a friendly Behemoth giving you a hug. A miracle.
*EDIT* Darn, I missed the "level" of your players by fricking miles with Big Papa... how about both the Power Armor and Scarlett are future projects? For now he'd be a fast talking, stuff fixing trained soldier with an apropiate weapon for his level.

EmissaryOfTheNorth |

Well, that opens a few opportunities.
How about this? Instead of being a former BoS Knight, Big Papa is still part of the Brotherhood. He's trying his best to get to the top and once he'z there he'll try and show the Elder that retrieving and securing technology can be done while protecting the commonfolk and restoring America to his former glory.
He is idealistic and tries to save people during missions. Because of that his officers question if his compromise with the Brotherhood is strong enough.
And that would be the only change. Big Papa still would be the gun loving, fast talking mechanic he loves to be.

thegreenteagamer |

Huh...not as popular as the last time around. Oh well, quality, not quantity and all that. Mourge, I obviously know you can do PbP, being a player in your game, but your rate...well...if you can definitely be more frequent that should be the main issue I know.
Emissary, I'll look through your post history and get back to you with some more info, but I like your concept so far.

EmissaryOfTheNorth |

As I said, long time lurker hahahaha
The thing is I use to play with my homegroup. Been doing it for the last 6 years, just recently give a shot to PbP and well, I'm still trying to hijack a group.
Don't worry about that and just do what you feel will be better for your campaign even if its rejecting me afterall we are here for the fun!

thegreenteagamer |

I had considered that.
I'm waiting to see if more people show up and/or my players' opinions. Not going for first come first serve necessarily...
...but you know me, Atlas, I don't do long recruitment. If you didn't check the recruits in a week, what are the odds you'll post as rapid fire as my games go? (And Group A tends to be even faster than your group sometimes!)

EmissaryOfTheNorth |

Boring day today, so I lurked a bit through the gameplay you linked and found the doc with the details about edges, hindrances, skills and items.
I've also read the free, 16 page, core rules of Savage Worlds. Surprisingly easy to learn... a good change of pace after all these years of D&D and Pathfinder.
And finally, I've gotten up something akin to "Big Papa"'s crunch.
I've used standard SW 5 attribute points, 15 skill points with a major and two minor hindrances (Already used the 4 points awarded in the crunch: 2 for an attribute increase and 2 for an Edge).
Buuuut I'm completely on the black regarding starting caps and/or equipment.
I've also made the following changes:
*Less talky. The required strength need to even lift a minigun doesn't leave much space for Spirit. But he's handsome, so can get still get away a bit.
*Good in melee. He's big, he's tough. He may as well be big and tough with a weapon. But he still will drool over any piece of tech, specially over miniguns and laser gatlings.
Name: Big Papa
Race: Human
Attributes: Agility d4 ; Smarts d8 ; Spirit d4 ; Strength d10 ; Vigor d6
Skills: Fighting d10 ; Guns d4 ; Science d8; Notice d4 ; Repairs d8 ; Energy Weapons d6 ; Persuasion d4
Pace: 6 Parry: 7 Toughness[b]: 6 [b]Charisma: 0
Hindrances: Heroic(Mayor), Vow(BoS, Minor), Loyal(Minor)
Edges: Brawny, Lady Killer, Attractive
Gear: Unarmed Strike (d10).
Special Abilities:
·Brawny. +1 toughness. Load Limit is 8xStrength
·Lady Killer. +1 damage and +2 charisma against women attracted to men.
·Attractive. Damn he's handsome. +2 Charisma.
·Heroic. Always help those in need.
·Vow(Brotherhood of Steel). Big Papa has a pledge to the BoS
·Loyal. Nobody is left behind!
I don't know if I'd be starting anew or with the same exp as the rest, but in the latter case these would be the level increases:
*EXP 5: Increase Strength to d12, so I can finally use a Minigun or Gatling laser someday
*EXP 10: Increase Repairs to d10. I'm a big mechanic, afterall.

Redbeard the Scruffy |

By my count you spent 18 points in skills and 6 in attributes, and have three edges.
You start with 5 attribute points (d4 is free) 15 skill points (d4 is NOT free, and it costs double past matched attribute), and one free edge (for being human)
Even accounting for hindrances raising your attribute and one edge, you have one edge and three skill points too many spent for a new character.
Fighting is off agility, so every point beyond d4 is double cost, as you have spent 7 points on that alone.
Yes, you can be at party level, and you can start with let's say 700 caps.
Also, you should know Spirit is also used for fear and getting un-shaken.

Redbeard the Scruffy |

They're not amazing at healing, and I don't think explosives are heavily used despite them finding a few.
I don't think anyone can drive, pilot, use a boat, or ride, to my recollection. It hasn't come up yet, but it's a sandbox game, and that may come up...
In the link to the game, on the campaigns info is information specifically for my conversion. It changes a handful of things, including splitting shooting into three skills, folding throwing into other skills, and adding some new ones.

Before the War, Rufus was a simple soul, living with the Bar-Nunn Traveling Rodeo and Wild West Show (Since 2011!), doing trick shots and conning his way into free drinks and the beds of lovely women whose husbands were off bravely fighting this 'ere war. (Born with a congenital condition that was never quite explained and helped along by a friend of the family who was a Doctor, he weaseled his way out of military service. Fact is, weaseling is what Rufus was best at.)
Then came the War.
And suddenly Rufus was a whole lot less pretty than he had been. And his flesh kept falling off. And his nose. And, well, other things it ain't best to speak of, nossir. In the irradiated Wasteland, the only think Rufus was useful for was his gun. And as his drinking got worse and his attitude fell right there with it, his shooting wasn't so useful either. So now he's waiting around, watching his caps dry up, and wagerin' whether the booze or the money will run out first...

Okey, I think I've fixed everything. Also got equipment. And made a profile!
I'm almost sure that no edge, skill point or cap has been erroneously added this time, but I may have failed and for that I apologize beforehand.
I'd rather not make you think I'm a cheater, just a bit sloppy when excited, oh grandious Overseer!

Redbeard the Scruffy |

Marcus - Now it appears like you spent 7 points on attributes, (d6 = 1 point, d8 = 2 points, d10 = 3 points, d12 = 4 points), and have two edges. Only one edge is free for a human. If you bought two attributes you couldn't afford to buy a second edge, or if You had two edges, you could only afford the one attribute point. You should either have one less edge or one less attribute point. You also mention having leveled up science in leveling up but I don't see it under skills, so I'm not sure how your skills add up.
James/Rufus, yours seems to add up correctly. Did you read the gameplay thread at all? They're actually IN a very rural ghoul populated town.

![]() |

Darn maximum time of this page. It screwed me up twice.
I'll fix that u.u
And the thing with edge is that I thought you had one at the start, and another for being human. Gonna fix it.
EDIT
Okey, now there should be only one edge and 17 skill points (15 plus the 2 of leveling).
I'm really sorry for annoying you with all this proofcheck, don't know how it's happening. I swear I usually aren't this bad at chargen.

Fitz is quite good at Explosives use, but hasn't had much of a chance to use them. I'd planned to use my dynamite on the ants, but Spaulding kamikaze'd with them first.

The Green Tea Overseer |

Emissary, you fixed up nicely. Go ahead and check in on the discussion page, and we'll write your arrival in when I get home from work in a few hours.
James, I like your character and I'm willing to bring two players in, but in looking over the timestamps on some of your heavier used PbP aliases, and I'm seeing an average of a week apart between posts. What are your most recent aliases so I can give you a fair review? Maybe I'm looking at old games that died out.
