Kraken caller druid any good?

Advice

Has anyone played around with this archatype? Looking at it, it seems like it could get pretty obsurd at higher levels what with the increasing DMG die when you have fewer tentacles.

With all that I could stack onto it I was seeing a potential 6d6+9 DMG not even mentioning the skill bonuses and all the hilarity that can come from being able to just GROW a tentical/tenticals

Tentacles too.

Yeah, I'd say it's pretty good.

I'd build, as a Human:

S14 D12 C12 I12 W17+2 CH7

Nature Bond: Rivers Domain

Feats:

1. Dirty Fighting, Improved Dirty Trick
3. Kitsune Style
5. Hydraulic Maneuver
7. Kitsune Tricks
9. Greater Dirty Trick
11. Quicken Spell
13. Lunge
15. Dirty Trick Master

Anyway, your job is as follows -- dirty trick every sucker in town. You'll use Hydraulic Maneuver to use Dirty Tricks with your Hydraulic Push spells to both BLIND and DAZZLE, thanks to Kitsune Tricks. You'll use your tentacles to dirty trick enemies after setting them up (as blindness removes their DEX bonus), and keep stacking conditions on them. Lunge helps a lot in this sense, as you can keep some distance. A Rod of Quicken Spell and Quicken Spell will allow you to toss several swift action Hydraulic Pushes to boot.

A kraken caller of tengu would basically be a destroyer.

If the tentacles are the only natural weapons that the Kraken Caller has would they count as primary natural weapons? If so that's pretty nice.

If you're more focused on melee than casting then I guess that a couple levels of Eldritch Guardian would gain you a Dirty Trick buddy who gets all of your Combat feats.

I've never heard of a Kraken caller. What is that? That sounds like it might be my new favorite toy.

Basically, trades miscellaneous features for aquatic features, and wild shape for the ability to grow tentacles, which can also be used for dirty tricks.

I have to think about how this will fit in with what I've been making.

Octopus Wildshaping Build

I've heard builds like this called Druidzilla. Some of my ideas might help you. For instance, the Kraken Caller's Tentacles would be Secondary Natural Attacks, so it would behoove you to take Multiattack. But you can't simply take Multiattack in PFS. I recommend 1 level in Brawler and use the Martial Flexibility Class Ability to give you the benefit of Multiattack.

The thread I linked to includes some different ways of getting more damage out of each Tentacle Attack. I hope you find my ideas useful.

Since you are thinking of Dirty Tricks, you might consider Sneak Attack Damage. With some levels in Ninja, Unchained or Chained Monk, Rogue, Vivisectionist Achemist, and perhaps Snakebite Striker Brawler, you can accumulate Sneak Attack Damage. With Sap Adept Feats, you can stretch that damage far. Not all these ideas work together or necessarily work with Kraken Caller, though. It's complicated.

The great thing about these tentacles is that they come as a part of the Wild Shape class feature, which means they are boosted by Shaping Focus. So there's loads of potential in taking four levels of Kraken Caller, then switching over into barbarian or bloodrager or alchemist or unchained rogue or whatever other class you feel like using to clobber your enemies with tentacles.

Shaping Focus definitely seems like it could combine well with this. If you can stand waiting until 13th level for things to really come together the Dirty Fighter archetype for orcs would allow you to perform 4 dirty tricks with your tentacles each round while still making a full attack with a weapon (or 3-4 more dirty tricks if that's how you felt). Add Dirty Trick Master and this could be get really impressive, especially if you use an animal companion to help boost your CMB (flank, menacing enchantment, maybe the Outflank feat)

It could be tough to have that much patience though, and I guess that the Skulking Slayer archetype for half-orc Rogues could be pretty great here too. The biggest problem would be the feat chain for Greater Dirty Trick. I wonder if you might be better off ignoring it in some ways and just using unimproved Dirty tricks as the opportunity presents itself. Even forcing the enemy to use a Move action or be blind seems pretty appealing for somebody with Rogue levels and would set the enemy up for further abuse by your animal companion, familiar, summons, allies, etc. On the other hand, if you focus on Dirty Trick it could become devastating...tough to choose...

Testing out this build in conjunction with Jabbing Style via Feral Combat Training (tentacle). Unfortunately, had to dip into Alchemist and take the Tentacle discovery in order to get Weapon Focus (tentacle), but props to whoever found or remembered Shaping Focus.

Ideally, Jabbing Master will allow +2d6 on a second unarmed or tentacle hit, and +4d6 on every hit after that.
